This is my fourth time buying this jacket. It is versatile and lightweight and wears well. It is perfect for all day wear and isn't bulky or bunching. Washes great (I hang dry mine) and keeps the wind out and the rain off. I highly recommend this jacket for its durability and comfort.

I bought this for my boyfriend and he loves it! It looks very nice and goes well with anything. It is light but keeps you warm. I bought it bigger, so there is plenty of room for a thick hoodie underneath.

I have been trying to find a functional coat for my dad that is still comfy. This one has it all. I bought it as a gift. The inside is soft. It's light and waterproof. It is still able to keep you warm and dry. Perfection!

Find Columbia products always great quality and always reasonably priced.

Picked this up to use a winter jacket to wear during "normal" winter conditions in southern Nebraska. Jacket is warm but not bulky, is nice enough to wear to the office, and appears to equal to more expensive brands while being superior to cheaper alternatives. I'm a big guy who often struggles when ordering online due to dissimilarity between sizes between companies but this fit as expected.

It fits good and it is vear comfortable.

I don't know why I took so long to purchase this jacket. It is super perfect, fits true to size and is great for all conditions.

I got the XLT, and it fits perfect. Well insulated without being bulky. Would buy again!

Great light weight jacket, not big and bulky like others and yet keeps you warm and it looks great.

Fits and feels great

This jacket is great for outdoors workers, its light weight yet warm. It comes a little large but that great for layering when needed. Great Jacket bought one for every body in the company and went back to get my husband one as well.

I'm 6"6" 280 pounds and needed a lightweight jacket for 40-50 degree days with wind or light rain. This jacket is great for that purpose.

My only complaint is that Columbia doesn't offer a Tall Medium for this jacket. It's a little big on me but I need the length. This jacket is fantastic otherwise.

I wish I could've found on with a hood but this jacket is extremely high quality and I will buy another one day if I ever need one which I doubt because of the quality of materials.

Love this multi purpose jacket, simply my favorite

I had been looking for a black soft shell jacket for about a year. I could not find a quality jacket that fit me (Tall X-Large). I saw the Columbia Ascender and ordered it. It is a high quality jacket that fits perfectly. I was also pleased with the zippered pockets. I would highly recommend this jacket.

Runs smaller than your normal clothes. I wore this all year long even during the coldest months of winter. Good use of pockets and good, clean look.

The fit is great it is truly a 2XLT and it is built such that it is long enough that it keeps my back covered when I climb into my car. I hate it when a coat rides up when I get in and my back hits the cold leather seat.

I bought this for my husband for our upcoming cruise to Alaska. He said the fit is very comfortable and I think he looks very sharp in the graphite gray color. We live in the Pacific NW and he will be able to wear it three seasons out of the year.

I have the Ascender Softshell in the color Black and have worn it for two years in suburban Chicago weather. It is amazing for it's warmth without a lot of weight, it's water resistance and it looks great in any situation. It gets me through 80% of the winter! I ordered the graphite just to have a different look and a spare jacket, but the first one still looks great.

The tall size is perfect. My spouse wanted something different for color and it is very nice. Great quality.

I am a bigger guy and this jacket fits as listed. 3xlt fits great. Sleeves are long and don't creep up my arm. The zipper works great as you would expect with a Columbia coat. The lining is very comfortable and helps keep the coat close as you move around. I like the finish of the exterior and my wife likes the color. Overall a win for me.

My husband works in law enforcement and has to wear a black jacket. They provided him one through work, but it is big and bulky and good for snow. He wanted an everyday jacket and he LOVES this one! He has had many other officers ask him where he got it and given him many compliments. We are definitely happy with this purchase!

My fianc loves this coat he is tall and it fits just right. He has flexibility while staying dry and warm. It is the perfect coat!

A good fit. It is barely long enough for the 6'4" tall man who is wearing it. But the cut looks good on him anyway. Nice jacket. We are happy Columbia provides activewear for big and tall people too.
