Love the pants but they run very small. I recommend ordering a size up!

I love these pants. I bought about 15 years ago and wore them on many boyscout camping trips, and hiking.
After losing one of the removable legs, I had to order another pair, to use for a hike on the Applacian trail this fall.

Will be wearing these pants when I hike Mt Whitney this fall. All other zip off pants I tried were so ugly and unflattering and did not fit well at all. Was about to give up the search and found north face pants! Sizing info great and they fit perfect and look/function great

The fit is generally true-to-size, or perhaps a bit small. I bought a size larger than I normally buy in fashion since I didn't want to be constricted / uncomfortable when hiking. They fit comfortably.

Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
Tried Columbia variety first and ended up with these. Better fit, not as tight at zipper and less money.... Score!
I'd also recommend:
Columbia

I'm using these pants for a 4-day hiking trip up Machu Piccu. I did have to get the next size up then what I'm use to getting (usually a size 8-got a 10), but they fit perfectly and I can't wait to get use out of them! The pants and shorts style are cute and flattering.

Great pants! The color is a touch 'browner" than the picture suggests, which I really like because the deeper hue makes the pants a bit better for casual wear. I like them for hiking, but now I get more use out of them. I wish The North Face would sell them in black (hint!!!!)

I've been looking for a good hiking pant for some time. I was out in Iceland this past summer, where it rained the whole time. As soon as I came back, I knew I needed to find a water resistant pant of some sort for future adventures. I wanted a classic look that was also functional, and this pair is it!

I bought these pants for my upcoming trip to Kenya. They are comfortable, good looking and light weight, which are all positives when packing for an adventure. They are true to size, wash well and dry fast. I recommend them, I love mine!!

I was nervous about how these would look with the convertible pants to shorts, but I shouldn't have been, shorts look great and the pants do too!!

These are the most comfortable and flattering zip off pants. The zippers are high quality and they don't rub against my skin.

I had to exchange the pants for one size smaller. I accidentally ordered the wrong size. The company has great customer service! Very pleasant to talk to and provided me with a pre-paid label to send back the pants so I can get the correct size.

I wore these almost every day while camping in Colorado this summer. They were a little scratchy at first, but was less noticeable with wear. I had to order a size up to get over my behind. I wish they were a little wiser at the bottom to roll up to make them a Capri length. Great quality and should last many adventures.

These were awesome! They held up really well with our miles and miles of hiking in Yosemite and Sequoia. I wore them for several days! So glad I bought them!

I LOVE these pants!! These are the 3rd and 4th pairs (in Sedona Sage Grey and Dune Beige) I've purchased and I am still absolutely in love! The only reason I bought new pants is because I lost 25 pounds and couldn't just tie the strings tighter anymore moving down to a size 4 from a size 12!! These are definitely true to size as I wear a 4 in most other brands and I was able to figure out the size I needed by looking at the chart and subtracting the number of inches I had lost from my previous pairs to see the size I would need without needing to try them on!! The only thing I noticed was I sleep on my side and I wore these to bed while camping which caused some bruising to my hip bone from where the button is even with sleeping on my pad. Still wouldn't trade them for any other pants!! I love how quick they dry and the length of the shorts that are what I would consider "normal" instead of the typical half zip that most convertible pants have.

These pants are great! I'm usually a six with a slightly smaller waist so the pullstring in these is ideal. That being said it's not a huge gap and they hang nicely. Very comfortable and breathable.

I keep being them since 10 years, have two pairs now. They are the best for hiking-camping trips with ultralight luggage. You only need one pair of pants!

Finding original TNF products in India is like stumbling upon a Dodo bird but that's exactly what happened! There is an online shop here that is well known and sells authentic international brands. They were running a discount and I decided to casually look through and voila! They were selling TNF products, not many but just what I didn't mind spending my money on, a pair of convertible pants.
Own several Lafuma, Millet and Columbia convertible pants but this one is the best. It is warm, claims to be water repellent, great three quarter option, excellent fit. Ordered one size large but the drawstring should be handy if need to tighten the waist.
In March this year went for a solo trek to Everest Base Camp and during the day didn't want to wear base layer under the trouser. My pants (other brands) didn't keep me warm during the strong wind exposure but this one might as the material feels warm against the skin. Will get the chance to test it during my trip to Ushuaia (Argentina) in November and from there to the South Pole.
The fit is stylish and the front pockets aren't bulky but spacious enough to hold my mobile phone and lens cap (I'm an avid photographer). Best feature though is the mesh stow pocket built inside.
Liked the first one (black) so much that ordered a second pair in a different color (Sedona Sage Gray). Also recommended it to a friend in Australia. Do not like spending my money on products that has 'Made in China' tags, this one is made in Vietnam. So have extra reasons to be happy.

Was thrilled to finally find a quality and versatile pair of pants for outdoor activities. They fit great in the rise and are long enough in the leg. So happy!
