I like my 1006 tennis shoes except that the for material, wraps from third string eyelet on inside, around the toe, tapering off at first string eyelet on the outside of the shoe. It turned yellow quickly and has now started cracking. My 806 shoes are holding up great.

I bought a new pair of men's size 11M NB tennis sneakers. The right shoe is a bit wider than the left and I have to tighten the laces so much you can see all the extra shoe material scrunched up, weird!

I've bought several pair of these shoes, and it seems like the quality has declined over time. I'd like to see all NB shoes made in the USA. comfortable and lightweight so all in all a good shoe.

These are good tennis shoes, offer good support, and a the only ones wide enough for wide feet with the 4E version. But why are they so pointy? No one has feet shape like this, causing toes to scrunch, unless they are some type of elf. They need to be more rounded in front.

I bought the NB 1006 several weeks ago. I am an avid tennis player and play on average 4-6 days per week. I only wear NB tennis sneakers because I have a wide foot and have for the most part been very happy with them through the years. I have been ordering online because I can't find what I need in stores. I wear a 4E X-Wide which is much harder to find. I have been wearing the NB Court 806 and have found that to be an excellent sneaker that both performs, fits and feels great. Unfortunately, since I got the NB 1006 all I can say is that it looks great but the 4E X-Wide is narrower with less cushioning and does not have the comfort of the Court 806. In fact by wearing the 1006 in which my foot feels more squeezed I am beginning to get a painful heel spur which I never had before. Will definitely be wearing the Court 806 more often. I wish I could say more positive things about the NB 1006 but it's performance and fit does not match up. However, if all you care about is how it looks then you've got it. Not sure if inserts will work either because of the narrowness of the sneaker.

Look good and the 2E width is comfortable. I did have a problem with a manufacturing defect that caused a slight bunch of excess material in the large toe area on one sneaker. This created pressure on the big toe and would have caused major toe pain, especially when cutting and shifting direction. Returned the sneakers and will likely reorder.

I previously wore the 1005 in D width. Bought the 1006 D and it was way too tight.

Cheaply made. Narrow. Too much mesh on the shoes. Not as pictured.

I was surprised to learn instantly that NB running shoes are sized very differently than this court shoe. I wear a 10 in the running shoes and the court shoe is significantly larger. I'll say below it is true to size just out of sheer ignorance on my part. They looked good though!

I've been wearing these for 7 years. Started with the 1004 went to 1005. The 1006 the 4e with is too tight in the toe. Very uncomfortable on the tennis court. Why did you change them?

For a 4 E it is a little narrow. Also I am going to have to se my orthotics because there is not enough arch support.

Typical NB shoe lately. 4E with a pointed toe box causing “toe squeeze”. What happened to the rounded toe box that NB once produced?

New Balance shoes are the go-to for those with wide feet. I need the size 13, 4E width and currently own and wear a 4E NB sneaker from several years ago. I need a pair of tennis shoes. These 4Es are not wide enough! They are tight! NB says they haven't changed anything, and that people's feet get bigger with age. That is hard to believe, since I have lots of shoes (like Allen Edmonds width 3E) that continue to fit me-how could that be if my feet have gotten bigger? This new pair from NB looks to be not as wide as my old pair, but this may not be the best comparison because the old ones are worn-in. Whatever the reason, I can no longer rely on New Balance to provide shoes of adequate width. Actually, I just checked my NB boots and they are size 14, width 4E so maybe the answer is to go up a size to compensate for the lack of width. Worth a shot. Plus, with the bigger size boot I can fit an arch support so maybe I can do the same with the tennis shoe to compensate for the near-total lack of support in the 1006 itself.

Have always purchased NB 10.5 4E court shoes and have found them to fit very well. I ordered the 1006 for the first time and it was very tight at the ball of my foot and too uncomfortable to wear. Sent it back and was told by NB customer service that the 1006 runs narrower than usual. If you have a wide foot or high instep don't order this shoe.

The 1006 is not as comfortable as the 1005 was. I have worn the 1005 for a number of years.

I have worn the 1000 series tennis shoes since their inception. The shoes are very supportive with a roomy toe box. Unfortunately, for me, with my most recent purchase, I found that the top of the toe box pressed down on my big toe. First time I have experienced that with these shoes.

I currently and previously and currently have owned many new balance shoes. My size is 11.5 x-wide. These shoes were so much longer and wider than my other New Balance shoes that I immediately sent them back. They were not even close to my other New Balance shoes.

I had to return them as they were to tight in the toe area. New Balance makes a similar model which fits much better. I'm still waiting for my refund.

Fit is OK for a 15 D but this is a heavy shoe with a weirdly concave sole. I had a pair several years ago that did not have the odd sole and seemed lighter or perhaps I was younger. Then they disappeared and I went to the 856 followed by the 896, both were light and comfortable and fine for all court play but don't last forever so I am disappointed with my currant 1006 and will have to try a different shoe. I've stuck with New Balance because of size and consistently decent fit, most sport shoe shops don't stock over 13 for try on so I have to resort to mail order.
