These boots are true to size. I emphasize this because not all Frye boots are true to size. They are very cute and stylish. They look a tad bit cowboyish but in a stylish way. Great boot. I ordered the soft vintage black leather, they were one shade of black and not super shiny like black leather often is. Hope this helps!

I am so impressed with the craftsmanship of Frye boots, however, the color was completely off. I ordered these in saddle and they were distressed with white all over - even on the soles. And it was not powder or something else that would brush off. They were not at all what they looked like in the picture.

This is my most extravagant Frye purchase (because of the impractical natural color begging to be ruined during the seemingly endless snow, sleet and street salt winter seasons in Minnesota). I can honestly say this is also my most fun Frye purchase! I wore these babies to the store tonight and got a million compliments! They are quite comfortable, possibly with a slightly more aggressive arch than can be found in the Lindsay Plate or Melissa Button back zip versions, so keep them in mind if you have flat arches these may not be the boots for you. I would qualify myself as someone with an average arch (running shoes of choice are the Asics Cumulus 12), and I found the arches to be a tad too high and set too far back in the boots. However, I loved the color and style, and so as all women will do - I figured I can suffer through the breaking in period in order to get these boots into my closet! For what it is worth, I was able to easily work my foot down the shaft and in to the boot in less than a minute for each foot, something I anticipate will become even easier with time. These boots are definitely a bit more "cowboy" than other Frye offerings, so if that is not something you live or can embrace, I'd skip this style altogether! However, if you are a little bit country as I am - or if you are real country or even just a fan of all things country then these are your boots!

These are by far the best boots I have ever had!! Extremely comfortable, well made, and very classic. I look forward to wearing them for years to come!

The bordeaux color is a rich deep red. It really pops in sunlight. nice!! The fit was a little tight in the toe box, but with a month of wear, they have stretched to a comfortable fit. I have a high arch and there is room for my orthodic insert. I also ordered the wine in this same boot. I loved the color but the leather was soft and I felt it would not wear as well as the stiffer leather on the bordeaux.

It's a little ridiculous how perfectly a pair of boots can fit and feel right out of the box. These are my 3rd pair of Frye boots, and I aspire to have a much larger collection! If you're on the fence because of the price, just close your eyes and hit "checkout". You will never regret it.

This is true to size and I love the leather they use. This is the third pair of Frye boots I purchased and I love all of them. I do spray a rain and stain repellent on it before I wear it outside. It also darkened the color a little and made it looked even richer.

Amazing! Extremely comfortable, stylish, breathable, but warm. My calves felt snug for the first hour of wearing them, but within a short time, they'd stretched (I have nice calves a bit bigger than most, but not "large"). I'd promised myself another pair of Frye's for this fall if I restrained myself throughout the rest of the year with shoes. They were worth it! And they are definitely worth the price.

Love this boot! The leather is rich and supple and I'm sure will age beautifully. I'm very pleased with the purchase.

I got these boots for my daughter and she absolutely loves them! They fit well and look sharp on...they are true to size. Zappos had the best price online plus free shipping! I love dealing with this company!

These are the best boots ever. I have feet that are a little on the wide side and these have stretched to fit my feet perfectly. I wore them for 8 hours at a conference (standing all day) and they never hurt. I do admit that putting them on the first couple of times was not easy, but I used a plastic bag on each foot as others suggested and it worked very well. Now I am saving up to buy them in another color.

I am absolutely in love! This is my first pair of Frye Boots and while they are a bit costly, especially for me as a poor college student, I considered them an investment for my future! I was sick of buying a new pair of boots every season because they weren't good quality so I opted for a boot that I could wear for years to come. I have spoke to many people, including a local cobbler, who rant about the quality and durability of these boots. Some even told they have had their pair for 20+ years! Now about this particular boot: I am on the shorter side and have larger calves. I tried several other pairs of Fryes and was having trouble finding a pair that fit well. Even the Paige Talls were too tight and they are supposed to be wider than the others. I tried the Melissa Button Extended because I was set on having a tall boot. At first they were rather snug on the calf area and scrunched a little around the ankle. I wore them for about a week and wasn't satisfied with the fit so I took them to a cobbler. Overnight and for just $8 he was able to stretch the shaft enough so that now they are perfect. I recommend this boot and even the stretching process for girls with wider calves!

Just got these today and they are great. I have the Veronica Slouch boot and wear them pretty much every day so I decided to splurge on a new pair of Fryes. I have to say I went back and forth on the colors. I wanted something different from dark brown because that is what my other pair is. I liked the idea of gray, but the pictures on the site did not look gray. Well, they are not gray at all. They are more like a lighter brown taupe color. regardless they are a cool color and I will keep them. For sizing my shoes are pretty evenly split between 7.5 and 8. My Veronica are 8 so I went with that as I live in Chicago and need to wear a real sock. They fit great and no problems getting them on. Another win for Frye.

I love these boots. I felt a little bit like Goldilocks ordering them -- the first color I chose was too dark, the second too light, but the third, the cognac, was just right! Thank goodness for Zappos amazing customer service that made this process a breeze. I haven't worn the boots a ton yet, but they feel very comfortable and I look forward to wearing them for many seasons to come!

When the riding boot trend first started, I wasn't sure that I would love it so I bought a decent but relatively inexpensive pair. They were fine but then I saw these Frye boots but I didn't want to spend that much. This fall I finally decided to treat myself and I am glad that I did, the boots are beautiful and comfortable. My only complaint would be that getting them on and off isn't easy but they are still very new. If you are thinking about getting a cheaper brand, don't, these are worth the money.

Love these boots! They work for do many occasions. Dress 'em up or down They are spendy but I think the style is pretty timeless.

These boots look great with everything. They were a bit difficult to get on and off at first, but once the leather loosened up a bit they weren't a problem. The color is perfect, it's a very rich shade and really stands out.

I had a problem with the stitching with these boots w/in a year, but I loved them and just thought I got a faulty pair. Zappos received my email and two days later they sent me a replacement. I will never buy shoes anywhere else!

Frye boots are classic. Definitely worth the money. They are well made and very comfortable. Living in the Northeast boots are a must. I already own a pair in dark brown and couldn't resist another pair in black.

I'm between 6.5 to 7, mainly a 7, but I can fit in a 7.5 in some other shoes as well. I guess I have "larger than average calves", 15 inches in circumference at the largest point. I had to cancel these shoes from Zappos because I just knew they wouldn't fit. So I ordered the Extended Calf from Amazon. Zappos was so incredibly nice about it! Great customer service! Anyways I ordered the Extended Calf in 7.5 because I wanted to wear thick socks with them. And they look amaizng! The Extended Calf allows me to wear some skinny jeans with the boots. When worn with leggings, the boots have a tad more room. I am very short, around 5 feet, and these boots come up to two inches under my knees. All in all, great boot, it's expensive, but it's genuine leather, and these will definitely last you a long time if you take care of them. I took mine to the cobbler to put a rubber sole on the bottom (because there is nothing on the bottom of these boots), but now I'm thinking I was supposed to say "treading"...but the half rubber soles will do for now. And I also got them weatherproof. I bought the leather conditioner from Frye, but the cobbler said it will make it greasy. So I just let the cobbler do their thing, and my boots were weatherproofed without being greasy. I did keep the Frye leather conditioner because I wanted to "jazz up" my other old leather items. Enjoy! I will definitely go back to Frye if I need another pair of leather boots!

These are my absolute favorite boots. The quality is absolutely amazing. The boots are so comfortable and look great with everything. Frye is by far my favorite brand, and these boots are my favorites from Frye.

Love these! I have them in two colors and wear them constantly. They hold up well over time, and are totally worth the money. They will last for years. They do break in a bit, and become even more comfortable as you wear them. I constantly get compliments and love that they are a classic look with quality leather.

These are my 2nd pair of Frye boots and I love them! I usually wear a US 6 in regular shoes and I wear a 6 in Frye as well. The fit is perfect with a regular sock, but also has enough room for thicker winter socks as well. I have small calves and find that these fit nicely without gapping too much. I purchased the Black Vintage leather color. This is a nice black color almost leaning towards dark charcoal. It has a nice not-too-shiny finish which I like. If you are looking for a black-black boot with a shiny finish, I'd go with the Black Brush Off leather. When the boots arrived, they were covered in the white, waxy "bloom" which made them appear much lighter. I just wiped them off with a dry cloth and then rubbed in some of the Frye Leather Conditioning cream (another product I highly recommend) and that took care of the "bloom". Overall very happy with these and glad I finally found the perfect pair of black boots to wear with leggings and jeans.
