This will be my first review ever but I thought it was worth writing. I LOVE these boots. I have been thinking about buying a pair of Frye boots for years and finally I got these for my birthday on Christmas Day! I love love love them. I have not taken them off since I got them. they are so comfortable. I was torn between these and the Carmen harness but when I saw these I fell in love. I can't say enough about them. I have a small, narrow foot and the size is pretty true for me. I can't imagine that they may be comfortable for someone with wide calves or a wide foot though. Now I am going to have to buy the Carmen too. Frye is just worth the money. And I have to say that buying from Zappos is the easiest and the best.

Did I just read someone say they had their boots resoled with rubber? Oh my gosh! Anyhow, I love my Frye Boots! I got my first pair way back in the 70's! They are well worth the money! They wear like iron, and look great!

Love these boots! I wear them almost every day! They are the most comfortable pair that I own. I love wearing them, and I love that I receive compliments on them every time I do!

I love my Frye boots. Once I discovered these, I thought I could find something else I like for cheaper. But I couldn't. I finally bit the bullet and bought them and I sure am happy I did. They are surprisingly comfortable and super stylish. I can wear them with anything. I ordered a half size smaller than I usually wear, but if you plan on wearing thick socks, you could maybe stay your normal size. Zappos customer service can't be beat, and I'm so glad I purchased my Frye boots here.

I just received my boots, fast delivery as always! I ordered light brown brush off leather, they are much lighter in person than in the photo but I still love them! I am usually a 7 - 7½ in shoes and ordered the 7½. They fit great with thicker socks with thin socks I could have gotten a 7. Overall I am very happy with these boots and recommend them!

These boots are amazing! As soon as the box arrived, I could smell the leather! This is actually my 2nd winter with these. I bought the dark brown brush off and I love them. I get compliments every single time I wear them. I wear them almost daily in the winter and weekly in summer. They easily go with a dress or jeans and add a cool factor to any outfit. This year I got the Melissa button in black (I prefer to get the brush off leather and wear them out myself). I normally wear a 7 1/2, but can wear a 7, so I ordered these in a 7. They were tight at first but I love how they have conformed to my foot now. I think if you are willing to put the time into breaking them in, order a 1/2 size small, but I got the black in 7 1/2 and they fit right out of the box, I just have a little extra wiggle room in them now. These boots are worth the money. Go for it.

These are absolutely the best boots I've ever seen. They are beautiful, the quality is impeccable, the craftsmanship is perfect, and they are super comfortable, even when I am on my feet all day! If I could, I would get them in every color.

THIS IS THE BEST BOOT! I have been debating for years on trying Frye boots and finally for Christmas this year my husband bought them for me and I have never been happier! The Melissa Button Boot is fabulous! I have the cognac, a great brown riding boot. I bought them in a 7.5 which is my regular size, the are a bit tight around my calves the first time I put them on by stretched (not in a bad way) the first wear and now they are so comfy. I am a Frye boot addict now! buy them!

These Boots are awesome but they run SMALL!! With no zipper to assist on putting them on, they are very tight and hard to get your foot into. Order a half size larger.

Loved this boot but it is a narrow shafted boot and narrower in the toe box. Great for those folks built like this but unfortunately I had to return. I will try another style. Love Frye!

I love this boot - this is my first pair of Frye boots. My calves are thin and these boots fit me. I can still wear them with skinny jeans too. Dressy enough for work with a skirt and tights. Leather is beautiful, not too stiff and the boots are comfortable. Love them - first but will not be my last.

I love these boots. After years of buying cheaper boots that would fall apart quickly, I splurged and it was definitely worth it. They are chic, beautifully crafted and I get compliments on them all the time. I have athletic calves and they still fit comfortably, although are not "roomy" per se. They did take some tugging to get on the first few wears but after that have softened up a bit and are now easy to pull on. I find them very comfortable and routinely wear them for shopping and airport travel.

Love these boots! The leather is gorgeous and the fits is perfect. It is a little difficult to get the foot in at the ankle but once inside they are very comfortable.

Gorgeous boots. I'm super picky with boots and I'm also really short (4'10) so I have to get boots that are slim-fitting enough to not make me look like I'm just swimming in them. In high school/college I went the trendy route and bought boots every fall/winter season with studs, ruffles, laces, buckles - you name the embellishment, I probably had 'em. Now that I'm 25 and working, I find that in general I spend less time and money buying cheap trendy clothing/accessories and would rather shell out the big bucks for things that will last me a long time. I seriously had been lusting after these Melissa Buttons for going on 3 years at least - come every September, I'd find myself Google Image-ing pictures of these boots and reading up on reviews, dreaming of the day I'd finally be able to get myself a pair. Well, now that I work full-time I thought, this is the year! True enough, these boots are everything I've read and dreamed about them to be. I ordered the brown antique leather, and the craftsmanship is just unparalleled. I've owned lots of boots over the years, and these by far blow them all out of the water, even my more expensive-ish ones that were real leather as well (ranging from about $150-250). They are a little tight initially to get on, but after a couple wears they mold to your feet and I never want to take 'em off - and that says a lot about me because my most ideal footwear is no footwear at all! I've gotten so many compliments on them and they just make me feel amazing when I wear them. They're also so versatile - classic styling of course is to wear them with skinny jeans, but I've also worn them with shorts, skirts, and dresses, because they are just that amazing! Paying for them hurt, but trust me, my regret over the price didn't last long. In my opinion, it's better to invest in a classic pair of boots that will service you well over many years than buy cheapie ones that will only last 1 or 2 seasons at best. Get them, I promise you won't regret it.

These boots are awesome. You won't regret buying. I bought the Melissa Button Backzip but returned for these and liked them much better.

I will never buy another pair of boots that is not Frye. I am going on my fifth pair! But I live in New York City and no other boots were able to withstand the concrete jungle like Frye. They all are a bit hard to get off, but are so comfortable and high quality that I do not mind breaking a little sweat to pull them off. If you are looking for expensive looking boots, that will last for years and years, this brand is for you!

Love these boots! These are one of the most comfortable and stylish pair of shoes/boots I've owned. True to size I felt the boot was a bit snug, went up a half size and can comfortably wear a wool sock in them. These boots are well worth the money.

So, I spent months agonizing over this purchase. Despite all the reviews here and from my friends swearing they're worth the money, it's not like you often have an extra money lying around. But, I finally took the plunge and treated myself for my birthday. I couldn't decide between the cognac, brown soft and saddle. Based on some helpful advice from the Zappos team, I went with the cognac, and they are beautiful. Exactly what I was looking for, not too stiff not too slouchy and the perfect brown color that goes with everything. Maybe a teeny hint of reddish color in them, but only just. Exactly as pictured here. The leather smells wonderful and the soles are perfect. I ordered a half size too small based on the advice of a friend, so I would say that you should size up a half size from your normal flat. For instance, I wear a 6 in flip flops and sandals, a 6.5 in flats like Sperrys, a 7 in high heels and a 7.5 in sneakers. A 6.5 was just too tight, but the 7 went on smoothly. The exchange from Zappos was easy and fast. Here is my one issue: They. Hurt. I wore them around for a bit when I first got them to break up the bottom because they are slick on carpet and tile. I didn't feel any pain, so I decided to wear them to work. I walk about a mile to and from my office, and by the time I got to work in the morning, my heels were bleeding and my toes were screaming. The walk home seemed like a nightmare. Maybe I needed more time to break them in before such a long walk, but I'm kinda disappointed since I read basically every review on here and they all raved about how they never want to take these boots off. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they just need more breaking in and they'll get better with time, because I won't be able to wear them if this keeps up, and since I've already scratched up the bottoms I would feel too guilty returning them.

These are wonderful boots. The leather is thick, yet soft and buttery. They fit me well, and my feet are a bit wide. The leather conforms to your feet really well after a couple of wearings. I feel like I will be wearing these boots for many years, as they are beautiful, classic and top quality. With all of the footwear we dispose of after one year, I can't imagine why anyone would pass these practical, fashionable, timeless, gorgeous and beautiful pair of riding boots. Get them!

I own 3 pairs of Frye boots, and I have to say the Melissa Button style is my favorite. I might sound exaggerating, but this is really the only pair of boots I wear and will repurchase. I am a pretty rational down to earth girl: I care about beauty, comfort level and budget all at the same time. This pair of boots has a classic style. It will make your outfits look so much better when you have one of those lazy days. It will also enhance even more of your perfect dress-up outfits. The boots might look plain at first, but once you put them on they look so much nicer! I caught myself all the time looking into mirrors and reflections when I am wearing this pair of boots. The more you look at them, the more fall in love you will be! The fit/make: The good reviews on this pair of boots will give you high expectations, but remember it is made out of leather and breaking in will take time. I have shoe size 6-6.5. I ordered 6.5 and I have quiet a bit of room for my toes to wiggle around. I would consider my legs normal sized, but one of my friends did call them skinny. I have no trouble getting in and out of the boots. The first few times are hard, but once you break them in it is so easy. Since they are leather, I was expecting a longer break in time too. However, it only took me about a week and 2 minor blisters. The boots might feel heavy on first, but it is leather, with insole cushion and thick outsole bottom. Those combined make the boots durable, flexible, and comfortable to the point that my feet are spoiled! I can walk all day in this pair of boots without any discomfort. My feet hurts now when I am wearing my lower budget boots. Once I wore the cheap pair of boots running errands my feet hurt so bad that I got into "I hate the world mode" (not the best day for my boyfriend). The leather lining keeps my legs and feet warm too, especially to those cold-feet girls, look no further! I have the dark brown color, if I have the money to purchase another pair, I would choose black. I think more of the stable classic style for long-term use. If you are hesitating about the price, trust me this pair of boots worth every single penny you spend! They will last you forever! I am a poor college kid who cares more about budget with comparable comfort level, even if the shoes are cute but I will not buy them if they are uncomfortable. I am abusive to my shoes too, since I am one of those people that consistently rubs the back of the heels and I have to buy a new pair of cheap boots every single year. Think about this calculation: supposedly you like to save money by buying one pair a year, satisfying your need and your shopping/fashion urge as well, in 5 years you have spent more than the price of these boots. All your boots will be worn looking, even worse they could be totally out of style. But one pair of Frye Melissa Button boots in 5 years will be still looking classy, stylistic, polished, and in good condition. It is pretty clear which way is the smart way to spend your money. I am the person that never write reviews. But this pair of boots really has the charm to make me have the urge to write the review. I own my Melissa Button for almost a year now. I know we all have different bodies. If you have this style and you love it, you are a lucky girl. If this pair doesn't fit you well, don't be discouraged. Frye makes good boots with lots of other styles, try others on! (I am working on to break in my Frye Rider Logo boots.) Besides the awesome Zappos return policy will make sure you have the time to find your perfect pair too! Frye is my go-to brand for boots now.

After a 10-year search, I finally found my dream boots. The picture didn't catch my eye, but I tried them on in a store and immediately fell for them. They're a little snug at first (rubbed my little toes the first two times I wore them), but quickly molded to my feet/legs and are completely perfect and amazingly comfortable. I love that there's no zipper or significant detailing, the silhouette speaks for itself.

Having so many color choices, I felt a little indecisive at first going back and forth between the Cognac, Brown and Bordeaux colors. I wanted a boot that would be versatile and wear easily. With a little convincing by my sister, I finally settled on the Brown color because they were the exact color as the boots I am replacing with this purchase. First off, I have to say this is my first pair of Frye boots. I have been aware of the company for many years, but due to my 15in. calves, I have never been able to find a pair that fit. This exact model, the Melissa Button, fits perfectly around my calves, not too snug but with no room to spare. I also find these to run true to size in my usual size 9. The color is a tad bit lighter than pictured, but not so grossly misinterpreted that I would send them back. I just received them today in the mail, but have been wearing them non-stop since they arrived and the comfort level is great. I haven't even noticed that I've been wearing shoes the majority of the day. I cannot comment on arch support, because I usually never have problems with the arches of my feet and this is not a determining factor when I purchase shoes. These boots are a little tight when pulling them on initially, but because they are leather, with more wear they will stretch to fit well. I think once I save enough money, I will definitely purchase a pair in the Black color and possibly the Bordeaux.

Love these boots! I found that they fit true to size and are quite comfortable. I have gotten many compliments on them.
