I love these boots. I wear them everywhere for work or walking when I'm traveling. I have to wear them over tights with skirts and dresses though, because they won't fit over pants. I've been meaning to get a second pair in black or gray, but I've held off because the cost.

I love these boots. I wear them almost every day in the fall and winter. I've even worn down the soles and need them replaced! My only problem was that they started to slouch, but they still look great, its a more relaxed look now. I have the Dark Brown Antique Soft Full Grain Leather color and they seem to go with everything, even black. I highly recommend these boots.

I really love these boots but will need to exchange them for a half size bigger. I wanted to write a review though because I'm so impressed by Zappos. I ordered the boots yesterday around lunch time. When UPS showed up today (less than 24 hours later) I thought I forgot about something else I'd ordered. I thought there was no way it could be the boots already, but it was. Ridiculously fast! I will definitely be a repeat customer.

These boots are awesome but the beautiful color and stiffness goes away really quickly. They are still my favorite pair of boots to wear but they definitely look worn just after a few months, even if you take care of them.

These are very comfortable and cute boots! They are versatile as well. You can wear these boots with jeans or with summer dresses. This cognac color is particularly matchable with pretty much any outfit. If you are looking for year-round, solid, well-made boots, then these are the shoes for you.

This is my favorite boot. it runs a bit larger than my true size. I'm usually an 8 or 8.5 in shoes and a 9 in running shoes. I purchased the 8 and it fits perfectly. The leather is soft and the boot is so much more comfortable that I thought it would be. Awesome quality boot that will last. My only negative - it's pretty hard to get my foot in - I have to wear a nylon otherwise my foot will not slip in, I have narrow feet.

Favorite boots ever. These are my 3rd pair of Frye boots and I'd wear them to sleep if it made sense! Very comfortable, true to size, great leather.

My Melissa Buttons are finally dying, after three years of near constant wear. I had them resoled twice. They were well worth every cent.

I am a new fan of Frye boots, and wasn't sure which size to buy. My Campus boots are 7, but I go between 7 - 7.5 on shoe size. Zappos Customer Service suggested going to 7.5 which I did. Perfect fit. They are beautiful, easy to pull on, and I am in love with them. My only concern was the durability of the leather sole, but time will tell (and I won't wear them on wet surfaces).

The most comfortable pair of boots I own. I have no doubt that they will last year. An investment piece that is well worth the price.

These boots are great. Unfortunately I ordered the dark brown brush off but received the light brown brush off, a color that I did not find the least bit appealing. Returning isn't a good option for me as I live in Ecuador and shipping both ways is quite expensive, so after consulting with Frye customer service I treated them with a dark brown polish. After buffing they now look more like the brown antique, which is a much better color. I think after a few more polishings (somewhat labor intensive) they'll be closer to the color I was hoping for. This might be something to consider if you're thinking of buying the light brown brush of for the discounted price but don't really love the color.

Love these boots. True to size and very comfortable right from the start. More on the casual side. Wish Zappos Canada had worked out.

I order the black vintage leather and I just received them, they are beautiful and fantastic except they look completely different from the picture on the website. In fact they have a grayish sheen to them because of this white powdery substance on them which is not what I wanted. I will probably be exchanging them for the other black.

I got the Cognac, which is a lovely color. I have high arches and the boot was a bit tough to get on the first couple of times (tight getting my foot through the ankle), but still very comfortable, and getting easier. I'm a size 6 shoe and a 26-27 jean, I wear them with skinny jeans and they fit perfectly in the calf, not tight but no gaping either. I'm very happy with my purchase. Beautiful boot.

Love! These boots are so comfortable and stylish. I bought the reddish brown color and am already trying to decide which color to buy next. I am 4'11 and have "athletic calves"...therefore, finding boots that fit my body type is challenging. A word about fit - these boots are great for petite women. I think that the calf size is somewhat irrelevant as the leather will automatically mold to the calf. I should also add that I bought these boots about a year ago and returned them because I couldn't even get them on. However, after reading other reviews (be patient, let them break in, etc), I repurchased them and the other reviews were spot on - I am happily wearing these boots with tights, skinny jeans, etc. Very happy!

These are excellent. These are my first pair of Fryes and first pair of "expensive" boots. You can really tell that the craftsmanship is a huge leap above $100 pair boots and I can tell these are going to outlive any of my other pairs in my closet. You're paying for quality here. They fit true to size, but are really slim around the shaft which, I can tell, would be a problem for those who have larger calves. I have very average/under average-sized calves and these just barely went up my calves and will be snug with skinny jeans tucked underneath. I'm sure, over time, as the leather stretches slightly they will be more loose, but they are cut to be slim-fitting and thus this should be taken into consideration when you make your purchase. Beautiful boots, you can tell they are hand-crafted, and they look great in person. Mine are in Light Brown (brush off leather). Make sure you read on Frye's website about each type of leather finish since each type of leather finish is different and the leather grain will look different/wear different over the years.

I have been coveting the Melissa Button boots for a while and finally decided to take the plunge. This isn't my first pair of Fryes, and probably not my last (ok, I'm addicted). Many of the reviewers suggested going a 1/2 size down but I opted to order my true size 9 to accomodate my wide feet. I ordered the light brown brush off however, the boots I received are much lighter than those pictured on the Zappos website. Not a problem. These boots are gorgeous and although the length is a tad long, my wide feet fit perfectly in the size 9. Overall, I'm thrilled with my purchase.

Another Frye boot lover here. I just received my Melissa button boots in cognac and I am so pleased. This was my first pair of Frye boots and I can see what all the hype is about. I love boots and have owned many pairs, but they all look like crap compared to these boots. I love the color and they just look super classy. I think that the more wear they get the more beautiful they will be. I will say that the size is a little larger than I expected. I am usually an 8, ordered and 8, and feel they they are a bigger in length than what I expected. I'm going to keep them, just because I think the extra space will be beneficial once winter rolls back around. Also, I have athletic calves, measuring almost 14.5inches (eek!), and these are definitely snug around my calves. I tried them on with leggings and they work well but I think it will take a bit of stretching to get them to work with skinny jeans. An important consideration for other ladies with athletic builds.

This is my first pair of Frye's and I have to say I am extremely pleased with them. I got them as a gift last Christmas and absolutely love them. Frye is a company well-known for their excellent craftsmanship and they certainly meet if not exceed my expectations. I know this is a lot to spend on a pair of boots, but if you are looking for good pair of boots that will last for years these are them! My boyfriend has had his Frye's for over five years and they are still in great condition. I currently have a pair in cognac; they go great with everything and I always get compliments on them. The only disclaimer: the soles of these boots are very slick when wet. I live in the Pacific Northwest where it is wet outside a majority of the time, I opted to have rubber soles put on the boots and in the last year they have held up great. Nordstrom will put on rubber soles for about 50$ a boot, but you can always go to a local shoe repair vendor as well.

Love! I have been drooling over these boots, and received them as a gift for Christmas. I cannot say enough how fabulous they are! I have received numerous compliments on them. They look great with jeans, with short dresses, etc.

I've searched for months for a great pair of riding boots. These fit great and look great. I would recommend them to anyone.

I decided I was in need of a good quality flat brown-ish leather boot and after reading tons of reviews I ordered both the Melissa button in burgundy brush off and the Melissa back zip in wine soft antique. I ended up keeping the Melissa buttons for the following reasons: 1) the Melissa buttons create a more flattering silhouette on my body. I am 5'5 with average-thin calves and pear shaped. The dip at the top and the curved back of the boot gives a nice shape to my calves and balances my hips. The straight up-and-down fit of the Melissa back zips on the other hand made my calves look too skinny and created an unflattering contrast to my hips. If you have a curvy lower half I would recommend the Melissa buttons; they are fitted yet shapely and will complement your curves. 2) The Melissa buttons are very low maintenance. Unlike other reviewers I had no problem slipping these boots on and off. The no zipper factor is very appealing to me. I have a wide-ish foot and wear a size 8.5-9 and went with the 8.5 and they are just right. 3) The style of the Melissa buttons is more cool and casual, yet still versatile. They have a bit more personality and feel fun to wear. They are a bit different and this makes them awesome. I also want to note that the color and leather of each boot was beautiful (I ordered the colors that were on sale). Both colors are unique yet can still act as neutrals. I'm thinking that the stiffer brush off leather is a good choice for the Melissa buttons because it will prevent them from slouching too much. The wine color on the others was great though and I was sad to see it go. Overall I am very excited about my new Frye boots! I ordered the Frye conditioning treatment and plan to take care of these boots; I don't think I'll be able to purchase another brand in the future; the quality of Frye is just too perfect!
