These boots are perfect in every sense of the word. I've been wearing Birkenstock for over 25 years and these are some of the best they make. As always with closed toe and closed heel I ordered I size up from what I wear in clogs and sandals and they fit perfectly as all my Birkenstock shoes do. As mentioned by other reviewers they started out a bit more dark grey than black, but after a few days of wear they are now a nice dark black. The first time I put them on I walked my dog 3 miles in them and they felt like I'd been wearing them for years, usually Birkenstocks take longer to form to your foot, these felt like they were made custom for me. They are cute with skirts, leggings, dresses, suits, jeans and corduroys. I could not be happier with these, they may be the best Birkenstocks that I have and I have over 30 pairs, my first pair of clogs purchased in 1989 have been resoled twice and are still going strong, I suspect these boots will last just as long. Quality, comfort and style, love love love!

Although the style of these boots are not quite as refined as I would like, they are funky and cute. Very well made with good quality leather, not the cheap cardboard type. Birkenstock only makes a Regular width in boots but these boots run a bit wide which is very comfortable for my wider feet. I also bought the Birkenstock Collins boots so I could try them both on and return one pair. I chose to keep the Stowe boots and return the Collins because they are too narrow. I preferred the Collins style but comfort is the priority in all of my footwear and the style of these boots is still very cute!

Extreme comfort. Well-made soles and width allows for breathing room in toes. I have worn these all day, every day since I received them. I have worn them on vacation and all around town. Color is rugged and looks better over time. Highly recommend. My only hope is that Birkenstock soon makes shoes that are this well-made with VEGAN materials.

Gorgeous boot. High quality beautiful leather. Made in Portugal. However, they were ridiculously hard to get on - something about my high instep combined with the stiff shoe back and angle of the zipper. Also the interior is unpolished leather which makes it even harder. Sadly, I will be returning these.

I have flat feet and finding boots that will accommodate a supportive insert can be quite difficult. I love the support in my Birkenstock sandals so I thought these might be a good idea. They were such a good idea. They're super supportive (though, slightly less-so than the sandals because the footbed seems a little less firm), and are incredibly comfortable. I didn't even have to break them in! I ordered a size up from the sandals I wear and the fit is perfect. I think these are going to be my go-to sandals this fall and winter!

These boots are AMAZING! They are soft, chunky, and the brown color was exactly what I was looking for.I usually wear an 8.5-9 and the 39 fit perfectly. The NW winter is about to begin so we shall see how they hold up!

Absolutely love these boots!!! Going up a size proved to be not necessary as they were too big and clunky. My regular size (37) fits like a glove. My other Birk boots are footprints and I'm happy with a 38 but they run small. The leather is so soft and beautiful. A little hard to get on but no shoe horn is needed and they'll stretch a bit as they are all leather. The sole will be great for our terribly long winters as they are thick rubber. Very happy with this purchase!!

I have been wearing Birkenstock sandels for years, summer and winter (with socks). I tried them after suffering with planters faciaties and was unable to walk without extreme discomfort. I was always in a dilimina during winter when the weather turned wet and snowy....obviously boot weather and my sandels and socks just did not work. I decided to try the Stowe boot and am so glad I did. They have the excellent Birkenstock cork footbed that fits like my sandels with no break in period for me. I normally wear the soft footbed and these are not, but the thicker rubber outsole provides a nice cushion. I normally wear a 39 but decided to order the 40 since I like my boots loose. Glad I did since the toe box and length would have been too confining for my personal preference. I chose the dark brown color but it is more of a taupe with a burnish toe. Attractive and neutral but not what I would describe as a brown. If you are a Birkenstock lover you will definitely LOVE these stylish comfortable boots.

Wanted to love these but couldn't. The black isn't black but more of a dark gray. The toes of the boots are a much darker shade than the rest of the boot. They fit quite well, not nearly as wide as most Birks. I wanted them to be my "go to" boot but considering the color and the price, they will be going back.

I bought these for a trip to Oxford/Dublin/Edinburgh - they were perfect. I treated them with beeswax and they were fine in the rain. I walked over cobblestone streets, the Cliffs of Moher, Arthur's seat in the rain and more with dry comfortable feet. I have some issues with plantar fasciitis and these shoes were great. I wore them with thick wool socks and skinny jeans, other jeans are too bunched up when tucked. A little clunky looking but they really saved my feet. I normally wear a 41 narrow in birkenstock sandals, I got the 41 in these and were fine with thick socks.

I agree with another reviewer about the fit. I am a U.S. women's 9. In the Birkenstock sandals and clogs I always wear a 39. In these moto boots, I got a 40, and they're perfect. Because they're completely enclosed, and I wear them with thick socks, going up a size from the sandals was a great choice. Caveat: if I lived in a warm or mild climate and was going to wear these without socks, I would have gotten my regular size. I did try them on with and without socks. My usual size was fantastically comfortable without socks. But going up one size allows me to wear them with or without, depending on weather. I ordered the brown color, which is a VERY mushroomy brown. The leather has color variations for a "weathered" look. It's a very neutral color and it looks fantastic with most of my closet. First brown moto boots I've found - winning!

Love these! The arch is like a soft Birkenstock footbed and I like the original footbed, but other than that these boots are so soft and comfy that I forget I have them on at work. Perfect!

These are a great pair of boots! I have high arches and heel pain, so I am pretty picky about which shoes I wear. I have a pair of Birkenstock sandals that I love and wear all the time, so I was excited to try a pair of Birkenstock boots. I ordered the same size (40) boots that I have in sandals, and they fit perfectly. They are a tiny bit tight to put on, but if they were any looser then they would be too loose while on. My only minor complaint is that they didn't feel as cushioned as my sandals. There is a thin footbed in the boot, but I felt that the footbed plus the sole was a bit thin. So I added a thin insole from another pair of shoes *under* the footbed, and ta-da!! the boots were perfect. It added just the right amount of cushioning, and then the footbed would still mold to my foot. Now that they are perfectly comfortable, I can wear them with jeans and leggings and they look great. A friend of mine just ordered a pair for herself after admiring mine. Great shoes, and of course it you don't think they're great, returns are easy with Zappos!

I waited to buy these cause I thought that they might look "too floppy" "too big" and such. Why did I wait so long?! These look great! They feel so good on my tired, picky feet. If you're hesitating, do not! Get them!

I love these boots, they feel just like my Birkenstock sandals. The only thing is they are a little hard to put on at first but they break in nicely.

Love these boots. I originally tried the Bennington style and while they are a very nice boot, I had to return them. I'm the person who couldn't tell you just why, but they just didn't "feel" like a Birkenstock to me. The Bennington looked and felt fine but didn't have the Birkenstock feel to them. Well, I tried the Stowe and they HAVE the Birkenstock feel. As soon as I put my foot into them and started to walk, I knew immediately that these were the ones. If I had to find any fault with these, I would have to say that I prefer the color of the brown on the Bennington boot, but that would be it. These are the ones for me. I had no problem getting them on my foot and my feet love them.

These may be my favorite boots EVER! Comfortable for walking moderate distances on concrete right out of the box.Excellent construction, quality leather and sole. Arch is in exactly the right place,and they are my kind of style. ,

These are my favorite shoe! They're super stylish and match almost everything. Not as comfy as a typical Birk sandal, but I wear orthotics so that solves that problem.

I love this boot! It is amazing, I don't want to return it or take it off my feet. I need a pair that I can dress up just a touch more. These are gorgeous and can be dressed up a bit. I just want a touch more dressy.

Oh thank the All That Is! They fit beautifully. I had tried a few other things. Basically looking for a boot which has all the support of my lace-up hikers with a steel shank & lots of "big socks and orthotics" room, especially in toe box. But at the same time, a boot that doesn't scream "casual" or "froo-froo" at the top of its lungs, and isn't made to fall apart after a season. These fill the bill wonderfully. Several notes (all to the positive): #1: I ordered one Euro-size larger than usual, a 41 rather than 40 (generally a size 9 foot, although sometimes 9.5). That was a good idea--I have some thick pillow air-cushion inserts in for warmth, and the extra height feels good. But the 40 probably would have fit okay too. In other words, the distance between the footbed and the top "ceiling" is large enough to accommodate feet, thick socks, maybe an orthotic or cushion. I've tried on other boots and felt like my foot was being squished down. #2: I was hesitant about boots with the gusset under the buckle. Frankly, elastic can wear out a lot faster than leather. But turns out, this isn't elastic, but a soft suede, so that when the buckle is tightened it crumples out of the way and doesn't rub. #3: It has the usual Birkenstock cork footbed in it. I wasn't sure what to expect, but this is the footbed I've been happy with for many decades. #4: I just got the boots, but it's pretty clear that they will last a looooong time. The leather is carefully cut and stitched, nice thick stuff that can be given a light waterproof coating (to guard against salt, more than water). #5: The style leans about 1% more toward "casual" than I was really looking for. But hey, I live in a cold place, and people are more relaxed about funky footwear, since warmth trumps "cute" or "formal" every time. The styling is pretty sedate, uncomplicated, clean. #6: I will want to wax up the zippers, as they are a bit stiff new. And there is a bit of resistance getting the foot into the boot--although it's not a major struggle. But that resistance means that there is a good, thick, supportive, sturdy part around the back of the ankle.

I already did a review on this boot recently but feel I need to add this….I live in Canada (ordered the boots to be sent to my friend's address in the USA and she got them to me.) I have been wearing them in the snow this winter and yesterday we had freezing rain a lot of the day on top of snow. I went out this morning onto the ice covered driveway and I did not slip once and I was walking firmly, not gingerly! These boots have the best treads of any boot I have ever worn in winter. It's so great to have boots that are not only so comfortable, but also I feel safe wearing with no risk of falling!!!! I can't say enough about these boots. To those who felt them to be a bit snug…I googled that, run a hairdryer over the tight spots on warm, while wearing the boots. Wiggle your foot around and keep blowing the warm air on the parts that feel tight. Afterwards put something of moisture on the outside and continue wearing them for a while. This should take care of them feeling tight. Mine felt tight at first, I ordered my usual Birkenstock size, I wore them a lot the first night around the house and they got better but the next day I tried this and it worked!! I LOVE these boots!!!!

Hands down, my FAVORITE boot! I have wide feet with a higher arch and these are awesome! Leather is super soft and style is great! Liked them so well, I purchased the black pair as well. :)

I have always worn Birkenstocks...the footbed helps so much with a Morton's neuroma and this boot doesn't fail with that issue. I also wanted to change from the clog style to a more study shoe for winter wear. The boot is beautiful, the leather is high quality...two things would make it a perfect boot for me: It is a little difficult to get on..takes awhile to get used to how you need to do it. The inside of the boot could be smoother so your sock glides in rather than being pulled tight. I pull my sock out from my toes and by the time my foot is in the boot, the sock is comfortable on my foot. These issues are not deterrents for me to have a sturdy, beautiful boot that gives me a secure step in colder weather/snow.

I am so in love with these boots. I have so much trouble finding shoes that I can wear. Between bunions and the need for arch support, I wear sneakers most days. I do wear my Birkenstock sandals in the summer, so was thrilled to see Birkenstock now offer other styles. There was no break in period. I have received many compliments. Great walking boot. I did have to buy a size bigger than my sandals.

These super cute boots were comfortable from the first moment i put them on my feet. They fit true to size, are supportive, and well-made. The color is not a true black, as noted by others, but a very dark gray. I think these boots will become even more comfortable the longer I wear them. They look nice with skinny pants and yoga wear. I LOVE these boots!
