These are the best boots I have ever worn! I am ordering a second pair. I wear Birks all summer and so excited I can wear them all winter! In wear a 39 in sandals and the same in the boots.

Just awesome. Very cool, very comfortable, perfect fit for my somewhat wide foot. Black has distressed gray tone. Nice biker boot look, not heavy. Will by my go-to boot this year for sure.

I received these boots this morning and have been wearing them since. They are very comfortable.

I love Birkenstock sandals and they are the only shoes that don't hurt my feet. But these shoes are too narrow. Sizing up wouldn't help because the length is fine. Why not wider?

I ordered these boots online, and was nervous about the size. So many reviews said to order a size up. For the moulded footbed I couldn't see doing that, so I ordered my usual Birkenstock size. They were a bit snug at first, but I wore them around the house all evening and by then they fit perfectly!!! If you like to wear super thick socks in winter, then order a size up, but I am good with the thick leather of these, they keep my feet warm with regular socks. I did have a bit of trouble getting the left boot on, but I have high insteps and it was just the way the opening and the zipper are. It's getting easier with each wear. These boots are beautiful, thick, soft and supple leather. The comfort is unbelievable, quality and comfort is what I expect from Birkenstock. With a different outer sole, even with the usual cork footbed I wasn't sure if they'd be the same. But I am pleased with the Birkenstock quality and comfort! I live in Birkenstocks due to several foot issues after many years as a nurse. I needed a boot that would keep me walking my usual long distances in comfort and these certainly deliver! Plus they're cute! They will look great with jeans, leggings, or a skirt! And Zappos delivered them in a couple of days! And with the amazing return policy I felt I could take the chance on ordering my usual size, knowing if they were wrong, I could return them with no problem and get another size! I am so happy to have found such a comfortable and stylish boot made by Birkenstock. I anticipate many years of wear from these!!

If only Birkenstock would make half sizes, all would be right with the world. But my feet are too big for the 36s and far too small for the 37s. So I am mocked by all of you who get to wear those beautiful, comfortable shoes.

Wonderful, but the heel is too wide for me and I won't wear them with gusto. Birkenstocks are made so that the foot stays in place, even when the shoe is too wide, but I don't like the feeling of air around my heel. The sandals are great, wide or narrow. But narrow is best for those of us who have narrow feet. The bonus price was great (thanks Zappo), so I'll keep these, but, unfortunately, they won't be my winter go-to shoes, whereas the sandals are

I wanted these boots to work for me SOOOO badly!!! I wanted something other than my Birkenstocks clogs to wear. They are well made, look great and I think they would be very comfortable for someone with normal feet. I have neuromas in both feet, one is severe. Birkenstocks have been the only shoes I can wear and not be in pain. I read all of the reviews for the Stowe and decided to give them a try. Zappos customer service is AWESOME and sent me several pairs to help me find the right size. I did have to go up a size. That being said. I usually go down a size for Birkenstocks sandals. I wore them all day at my mother in law's house because she has carpet. I thought they would work but when I put them on at home on the wood floor the familiar ache was there. They just don't have the same metatarsal support. Close but not enough for me.So sad. Gorgeous boot, great quality, excellent customer service but sadly, I'm sending them back.

I live in Birkenstocks in the summer with a 37 size sandal. After reading reviews I took a chance and order the same size- they fit but in wanting to use these for fall boots it was hard to get my feet with thick socks in. Ordered up one size and problem solved! They are very comply, and will fit orthotics. I'm going to put oil on them to help them be weatherproof. Made in Portugal and made to last. Invest in these and you won't regret it!

These are a little too clunky for my taste. I am sure they are cute with jeans but I wanted a different look that could also go with dresses. I got the Birkenstock Sarnia and they fit the bill for both. The Stowe felt a little wider than my other Birks and slipped a little on my narrow heel. Love Zappos return policy so I can try different shoes to see which works for me! Thank you Zappos!

I like this boot, but it was waay too small for me-I could barely get my foot in! It's depressing to have a larger foot and have few shoe makers who don't make a shoe or boot larger than a 10 or 11. Don't know where the women's basketball teams shop. Anyway...the boot seems to be made well.

I love everything about these boots except that they are very hard to get on!!! I will need a long shoe horn so that the side doesn't get pushed in. Disappointing but I still like the boots and will keep them.

Let me start by saying that I love Birkenstocks. I am a huge fan of the brand and I wear their clogs, shoes and sandals. I was so excited to find these boots. Let's face it, Birks have their own unique look that can be somewhat frumpy and orthopedic. These boots are anything but frumpy and orthopedic. They are adorable, stylish and classic-yet-current. I tried the 38 which is my size in Birkenstocks and if I wanted to wear these boots without socks, the 38 would have been ok, but they are boots. I want to wear socks. I ordered the 39 and was pleasantly surprised to find that the footbed still hit me in all of the right spots and that I did have the additional room I needed for socks. However, I am not sure if it is just me and my foot issues, but I found these boots to be oddly short (from top to bottom) in the toe box. In the 38, the shortness of the toe box and the thickness/stiffness of the leather put an uncomfortable amount of pressure on my large toe joint. In the 39, each time I took a step, the normal creasing of the shoe cut into that joint. That was very uncomfortable and sadly, a deal breaker for me. These are also not the easiest boots to put on. The need a loop to pull on so that you can struggle less getting your heel into the oddly angled opening (caused by the short zipper and very stiff leather). Also, the coloring is a little funky. In the brown, both pairs of boots that I tried were sort of white-washed throughout, except for the toe. The effect was almost as though there were dark brown caps on the toes of the shoes. A little strange, but not entirely unattractive. All in all, in spite of their issues, if these boots were comfortable on my (admittedly, problem) feet, I would have kept them in a heartbeat, regardless of the price, they are that cute and well, they are Birks. I am a fan.

I have worn Birkenstocks for many years and was glad to find this line of boots. I usually wear a 38 in sandals, but ordered a 39 so I could wear winter weight socks. They are just right. I think, however, that Zappos should show a different photo of the black, as the current picture does not represent the color accurately. They are definitely a distressed gray with only the toe and heel being black. I was disappointed at first, but have grown to like them. Zappos service is great. They arrived by one day business shipping in less than 24 hours on Christmas Eve. Love the free shipping for returns if needed. Thanks Zappos.

These shoes are well made and getting more comfortable every day. They have a grayish hue, which I like, but just be warned, they are not really solid black. I love that the insoles come out, as I use custom orthotics. I find I have to wear thick socks with these, or else my heels slide around too much, but that's an easy and comfortable fix.

I was very happy to see Birkenstock making boots that look stylish and also offer foot support. I ordered my normal size in Birkenstock sandals and clogs and my toes were pinched in width and right up against the front of the boot. I am returning these boots and would order the next size up, but Zappos is out of stock on that size. I'm taking off a star overall and for comfort because the sizing is so different from the sandals and clogs.

I wanted to love these, but the arch support is longer and deeper than regular Birks - and it wasn't comfortable after only a short time. I ordered a pair of sandals too and when I compared the footbeds it was clear that what I was feeling did look very different from shoe to shoe - so if you like/need arch support that extends almost to your toes and not just your arch, these might be for you. Also, the color is smoky/dusty grey and black - and not even - which is cool looking, but not exactly what I need for work at this time. Perhaps I'll consider getting different footbed inserts if they come out with an all black model, but for now I'm returning these!

I had heard so much about this brand of boots. They were expensive and when I couldn't seem to find a pair of boots that were comfortable in other brands, I decided to give these a try. I'm sorry that I really wasn't impressed with them. They weren't very comfortable. I guess I expected a lot from Birkenstock as far comfort goes, but they weren't something I could have worn for any length of time. So they had to be sent back!

I have been wearing birkenstock sandals for years and love them. These do not have the same comfort. They have the insert like the top layer of the sandals but the bottom does not have the same underneath which gives the sandals the comfort. Very painful after a short duration.

Really wanted to love these - the Mayari is my all around go-to sandal for 6 months of the year. It is really not the Stowe's fault - I just have a rather narrow foot and the Stowe is just too wide. And I did not want to put an insert in because I love the Birk footbeds. Trying the Collins to see if the more narrow fit will work ---- I really love the sole on this Stowe better - much more substance to it without making it feel huge.

Really cute, really comfortable, really supportive, but crazy wide. I never wear a narrow width in any brand--I've never owned one--but I'd need it in this shoe.

Although stylish and well made, not enough support keeping my foot in place. My heel doesn't stay put, so my socks slide down causing my leg to be exposed to the stitching on the inside of the top of the boot resulting in a raw, red ring around my leg. Not enough support to be worn walking around town. Disappointed overall-especially for the price.

These boots are comfortable but don't have that Birkenstock firmness. The insert is very thin with what looks to be less than 1/8" cork layer that's suppose to "mold" to your feet. I will buy one of the Naot corkbed inserts for a replacement.

Cuuuute boot - but I could not get the darn things on my feet, even with the ornamental buckles loosened and the zippers fully unzipped; the reinforced heels were too stiff to slide my feet inside. The color is more of a dark pewter gray than black. And, these size 40 boots have a size 39 insole inside them. Guess I'm sending these back.

In the past I only wore Birkenstock shoes and sandals, but over the years I have needed more cushioning in the forefront of the shoe. I often walk 5 miles a day (without a car in the city) and I need shoes that will respond to concrete sidewalks. I was so disappointed with these boots, I had great hopes, but they are actually thin on the bottom and my feet hurt after a couple of miles. had to return with regret.
