insole has great arch cushion making them comfortable to wear. I am a teacher and on my feet all day. Our campus has outdoor halls so the waterproof feature is essential for the winter days. Look great with skirt or over legging-style pants. My only negative comment is that there is a bit of folding of leather in the ankle area. This is softening up with wear.

I wear normally wear a 6.5 W or 7 W, and have a 15 inch wide calf. Based on the recommendations I bought a 6.5 Wide in this boot and prayed it would fit both my little bunioned duck feet, and my muscular calves, and they did! Phew! With skinny jeans on I can just get them zipped. My wider-than-average calves stretch the elastic panels a tiny bit, but the boots seem to stretch out a little with each use. The length and width of the shoe portion is perfect. Glad I went with the 6.5 and not 7. As another reviewer mentioned there was a bit of rubbing on one ankle where the leather bunches up a bit, so I pulled the boot up as high as possible and the problem seemed to be solved for now. I've worn the boots twice, for about 4 hours each and love them. I haven't walked a lot, so can't attest to how well they do there, but I can say they have been great in the rain. So glad the leather is waterproof. They are also really pretty, and make my wide feet look narrower than they are. I really like these boots and have high hopes for them. I knocked off one star because of the rubbing at the ankle, and hope my "fix" really does fix that. If not, I'll just use some moleskin there. The boots are worth it.

These boots are very nice, but the shaft is small. I don't have skinny calves, but not large either. I could hardly zip them up, and would never be able to wear skinny jeans with them. I'm very sad, because I have big problems with my foot width. I wear a 6 1/2 wide. The shoe part fit nicely, but not the shaft. Darn.

Ordered these for a winter trip back east; they arrived just in time with no time for breaking in. Wore them for 2 straight weeks...they were immediately comfortable for walking in the city and in the country, driving, flying. And being waterproof meant no issues when we stopped for pictures in the snow. My feet were never cold. They are lightly, but nicely, lined. The leather softened up slightly but did not get sloppy. Heel just the right height. Very happy with these and expect to have them for years.

I ordered a wide width for my 10W foot and found boot was loose with slippage of foot inside when walking. Would probably be good for those who prefer thick socks. Calf of boot fit nicely around tucked jeans; not close fit on bare leg.

These boot feel fabulous on my feet! Could wear for days. Boot does run a little big in shaft and hits lower below than I would prefer, but the feel was worth the trade off. Also, consider I am 5'9, so taller than average.

These are very cute and comfortable on the foot bed. Pretty tight around calves. I'm hoping they will stretch. I have worn them twice and not sure why but they are pretty scuffed which I haven't had with leather boots before.

I really can't decide about these boots. On the one hand they are a super good fit, supportive insole, and well made. On the other, the leather is really stiff and the overall style is quite masculine. They are even more masculine looking than my real riding boots. So they end up feeling pretty military. They would be okay for kicking around town, but I have Sorels and Tevas for that (and my Sorels are more stylish by a long shot).

Great boots, but pretty expensive, and they run very large, but the width feels great.

Love the style but I felt they were a bit narrow for my 10W feet in both the foot & calf. Too bad they weren’t keepers :(

These are very comfortable boots and worked well for my 10W feet and larger calf. But the lining was virtually non-existent and if I'm spending this much on boots, I want warm feet. Sizing, otherwise, was right on.

I'm reluctantly returning these boots. Very comfortable, good fit (no heel slip!) but the shaft is too wide.

Though I love the Cobb Hill collection, these boots don't work for me! :( The boot shaft is way too big (I have thin calves, big feet!), and the boot feels a bit clunky. Over all, though, a good style and boot.

Based on reviews I read, I ordered up half a size. The boot is too big. Because Zappos is sooooo awesome, I'll exchange for the right size because the boot is cute and priced fairly.

Love these boots. They are very comfortable and true to size. I bought an 8 when I usually wear a 7.5-8, and they are a bit roomy, but great for thick socks. I wish the heel were a little higher- I like to wear a 2-3 inch heel and these are just 1 or 1.5. But, they are taller than riding boots.

These boots seem well made. The leather is nice. They are labeled "waterproof" but look like a regular dress boot. They didn't work for me because I have problem feet--a wide forefoot and narrow ankles. Even in the wide, my toes felt a little cramped while my ankles were swimming in the heel area. The boots also had more arch support than I like.

Needed a lower heeled boot that was comfortable enough to walk a couple of miles a day in. After trying 3 other boots, this one fit the bill. I am a solid 8 in boots, and in fact have another pair of older Cobb Hill boots in an 8. I ended up exchanging the 8's I ordered for a 7 1/2 and they're still plenty roomy.

Sadly, this was much too wide for my slender calves, and the ankle area was huge, buckling when I walked and rubbing, just like other reviews mentioned. Nice leather, but the style is pretty clunky. Onward!

I really wanted to like these boots. I liked that they didn’t have a lot of embellishments, and I was excited to get waterproof boots. But, after trying them on, they felt like galoshes or short fishing boots! They didn’t bend with my feet. With every step I felt like the back of the boot was pushing against my calf. The toe box has plenty of room, but I would have had to wear thick socks to make them comfortable. As I have thin calves (13”), the top of the boots were way too wide. Had to return them.

This is a very nice boot. I have a narrow foot and ankle. I put a pad in the boot to take up the excess room and that worked but was still to wide at the ankle. When I walked it dug into my ankle and heel. The arch was high. If the leather was softer, it may have worked. I will have to return them.

I really liked this boot and I like the Rockport brand. This boot style is cute and the leather was very good quality. I normally wear 8.5 or 9 depending on the brand. I have a wide foot, high arch and high instep. So wide shoes fit my foot better than a medium. I ordered this boot in 9 wide. The boot fit perfect in the foot area. The problem I had was the top of the boot was too tight around my calf. I was able to get the boot zipped up and I wore them around the house to see if the top would ease a little but it didn't. Because the top was so tight it caused the boot to bunch and push in on my ankle when I walked; which wasn't comfortable. I decided to return the boots.

Loved the comfort but they are just a little to short on my calf. Not crazy about the style so plain. Returned will continue to look for the perfect boot.

The left boot was tight around the ball of my foot and loose around the ankle. I ordered a 9D (wide), which didn't make a huge difference in the ball of the foot, where I was hoping it would, and instead, my ankles slipped out of the boots when I tried walking up stairs and my toes felt pushed into the point of the boot. The toes are slightly almond-shaped, which apparently is too almond-shaped for my foot. The leather was duller than I'd expected, with something of a "tarred" finish. Much more blah than classic.

The fit around my foot was way too tight. I usually buy a normal/B width shoe, so that's what I ordered, and my feet were getting squeezed from the sides. So I'll have to return these - although I'll consider re-ordering in a W width if it becomes available in my size. On the positive side - these boots look very nice, and the lining was comfy. The calf fit was very good as well; not too tight and not too loose (I wear size 11 and I have a 15 3/4" calf circumference).

Rockports always run a half size larger for me. I was unable to try on the black pair of boots because the zipper didn't work...huge disappointment. The calf measurements are accurate.
