Due to the reviews, I first went to a store to try on Rockport Mary Janes to check for length. The various Rockport Mary Janes appear to use the same shoe last. I tried on Daisy flats. I was amazed that size 10 was as long as my men's 10 boots! (I never take a 10 in women's shoes, but I bought 10 narrow Petra shoes.) I take size 11 in women's adidas. I wear size 12 in Easy Spirit leather walking shoes. I just took some Petra measurements to help others. The bottom sole of size 10 narrow at the longest point is 11 1/4" and the back center seam vertical rise is 2.5". My podiatrist made me both cushiony orthotics for boots and tennis shoes as well as dress orthotics, the latter of which, work well in my Petra shoes. I will be so much more comfortable wearing these Rockport Petra shoes vs. high-heeled or even low-heeled shoes!

This is a nice looking shoe and fits well in the toe box where I need it. Unfortunately, the heel is much wider than I need so I have placed two non-slip pads in each heel. This is working but not ideal. An orthotic can be used for better over all support.

I have trouble finding shoes that fit a foot that is wide in the toe box and narrow in the heel . This shoe is very cute and fits well. There is no slipping in the heel and the strap is long enough to go over the foot without popping loose

Nice shoe for casual or with dressy slacks. The strap goes all the way over to connect securely with the hook and eye closure. Some shoes don't and then the strap pops loose. The design on top of the shoe and on the heel give it an up dated look.

The picture on Zappos website shows these shoes to be a grey color. When I received them, the is more like a metallic black. I don't need any more black shoes, I wanted a grey pair of shoes.

I have a number of Rockport Cobb Hill shoes, and I normally wear a 10 wide. After ordering these in that size, I returned them because although they were comfortable, when I slid my foot into the shoe, there was 3/4 of an inch between the back of my foot and the shoe. I reordered in a 9.5 wide and there was still a gap in the back of the shoe. They were extremely comfortable, but I was still walking out of them. So the 9.5 size goes back also.

I really wanted to love these shoes and tried them in two different sizes, but they just felt too long. The heel kept slipping off.

Seemed comfortable enough, but I did not care for the style when I saw them in person. More of a funky shoe than pretty. Returned.

One shoe was defective. The stitching where the lining and the outer shoe meets was sloppy on one shoe and that same shoe had a scratch/light tear at the heel lining. Super comfy, so I will be exchanging for a new pair. These are a nice true brown color. Overall rating 4 star due to defect.

I purchased these shows for a trip to Italy I am taking in October. I originally ordered the 10 R but found them a little long and I didn't like how tight the strap felt across the top of my foot (I was trying to pull it far enough over so the Velcro was not showing on the side). I exchanged that pair for a 9 1/2 W. These are really comfy. I like the way the strap fits and that I can make it tighter or looser. I look forward to having these on my trip!

This is one beautiful shoe. I take 8-1/2 W, and the fit was very good. There is moderate arch support, not enough for my very high arches, so I slipped in a gel insert and made them perfect. Absolutely no break-in needed. These were comfortable from the start! Thank you very much, Zappo's, for providing this shoe. I haven't found one this comfortable in 10 years.

Another Cobb Hill flat that runs big, at least in length. Width seems true to size. I usually wear 9.5 and the shoe in this size felt more like a 10.5. The W width is ok for my wide forefoot, EE would probably be better but then my heel would be way too loose. Going to exchange for a smaller length and see if that works better. The Pewter is a very dark gray, not as shiny or silvery as expected.

Love the color (pewter I think) as it is a good neutral. Very comfortable and good walkers. Hopefully will be taking them to Italy in a few months!

Love these shoes. Only things I wish were different would be for them to have a removable sole and some elastic in the strap.

I have a bunion on one of my feet, and it took me a very long time to find a pair of shoes that looks nice and is comfortable. I usually wear a 7 medium but I ordered this shoe in the 7 medium and also in 6 1/2 wide. Both of them fit me! I wasn’t sure which pair to keep-One of the reasons I ordered this model was because another reviewer said that they have a nice wide toebox even in the medium width. I don’t have wide feet but I wanted lots of space for my bunion and I didn’t want my bunion to be the one that’s stretching out the shoe which is what usually happens. Even my sneakers get holes on the side where my bunion bangs out. In the end, I kept the 6 1/2 wide, and returned the 7 medium. I love shopping with Zappos because returns are so easy, I knew I could keep one and return whichever one was less fitting me or return them both if neither were good for me. I have custom-made light weight orthotics which I put inside the shoes to give me the arch support that I need. The shoes are now super comfortable and look very cute. And they’re not too wide on the ankle end. And I believe this is how good shoes should be-should be comfortable right away. I highly recommend these shoes.

I love the Cobb Hill collection--I have 3 pairs. These are the most substantial of the 3 pairs--the other two are sandals. I have the Petra in pewter and can wear them with or without socks. I recently wore them on a 2-week trip to Europe during which we we were on our feet for 10 hours per day sightseeing and standing in museums. No blisters and plenty of support.

Excellent. Very comfortable for walking to work. As a bonus, I sometimes wear them all day long. Comfortable enough not to need socks or stockings. This is my second pair. The first lasted at least three years.

I love these shoes! My only disappointment was that the pewter color is actually darker than the picture shows. I wear AA width and in some shoes a AAA, so it's difficult for me to shoe shop. Having the strap across the foot is helpful since it didn't come in a AAA. Overall, very satisfied with my purchase.

Fit, size is good, quality is okay. Not as comfortable as I need & not enough arch support for me. I'm used to Naot, but decided to try this shoe because of the price & generally good reviews.

These are very nice shoes, comfortable but still pretty. They are clearly well made, good quality for the money.
