"Beautiful rich leather upper..." Except these are not leather!! Otherwise perfect fit. So disappointed, not what I expected from Rockport, and false advertising to boot ... I bought these to wear with no socks or liners, and the shoes smelled after half an hour of wear, so obviously not breathable... Going back

I've been wearing Arcopedico's Shawna for years--that is a great shoe for hard-to-fit and painful feet! And after trying so many pairs before finding Shawna, I never really expected to find a second shoe that accommodated my rheumatoid arthritis-plagued feet, bunions, and high arches. Plus I really want a well-padded, supportive shoe. Not asking for much, am I? :-) But lo and behold, the Rockport Cobb Hill Petra is a second great find!! It's super-padded, super-supportive, looks much slimmer on the foot than it does in the picture, and is so light you won't believe it's a real shoe. Right out of the box I was able to wear it for hours and hours, with NO sore feet and NO aching back. I bought the Navy, which is really more of what I'd call a cadet blue, and it's surprisingly neutral. Think I may have to order another pair in another color just because I love them so much. Highly, highly recommended for people who need support as well as a roomy toe box. Thanks, Cobb Hill, for looking out for us high-maintenance people who still want to have stylish shoes!!

I have trouble finding shoes that fit a foot that is wide in the toe box and narrow in the heel (who knew I would morph into a lady with a bunion). This shoe is very cute and fits well. There is no slipping in the heel, helped by the adjustable velcro strap. I also ordered Earth Sabina to decide which I liked better and ended up keeping both! Have been wearing without socks from the get go and no blisters.

I bought these because the reviews said they had excellent arch support...they did not, they are nice and padded but not really any special support for your arch unless you crank the strap super tight...so alas, back they go.

Beautiful shoe. It’s color and design is darling. The first time I slipped them on I knew they were the one. They were soft and light and didn’t rub anywhere. The strap is a tad stiff but I know after a few wears it will loosen. Like them so far.

I find that most shoes of this type don't have enough support, so I ordered this shoe (Cobb Hill Petra) and the Taos Applause thinking I would keep the one I liked better. They are both very comfortable, and had as much support as any Mary Jane style will be able to offer. I couldn't decide between the two and -- quite uncharacteristically -- decided to keep both!

I usually wear 8.5W or 9M depending on brand and materials. I ordered 8.5W and they were a bit long but perfect width. Reordering 8W to try.

Great shoes, great service. I have arthritis and bone erosions in my foot and tried several Mary Janes before finding the right one that would not hurt the top of my foot and yet would support my arch and give plenty of toe room. My search is over - these are the answer to my prayers. I'm waiting for the Navy to get restocked and will purchase another pair as soon as they are. They look stylist and not like orthopedic shoes, yet feel like you are wearing a custom made shoe. Arthritis suffers buy these with confidence and feel the relief! Ever since I found the Cobb Hill brand I have been a HUGE fan. I am on my feet a lot for work and while a solid pair of sneakers are great they don't quite look stellar with professional attire. As a result I struggled balancing comfort and function with style until this brand came into my life. I love these shoes because of the strap across the middle. Wearing flats is difficult for me because my feet always slide out of them. My feet stay firmly in these shoes all day and are not sore or tired like typical flats without support.

The fit was tighter than other Cobb Hill shoes I've purchased, but I decided to keep them and break them in. After reading the answer about what the upper construction was, I knew leather would stretch. I wore them today, and about noon my feet were soaking wet and stayed that way until I was able to take them off at home. My feet were shot today and uncomfortable, I couldn't figure it out. My feet by the end of the day, because the upper didn't give when I walked. So I looked in the shoe to read what the upper was made of when I got home. It states MAN MADE! both the upper and sole. They are cheap plastic shoes. Zappos reply to this question was- Question Exactly what part of the shoe is leather and exactly what part is synthetic? Best Answer I apologize for the confusion, these will have a full grain leather upper with a synthetic lining, none of the upper is synthetic! Jesica from Zappos on October 1, 2019 :-(

The shoes are fairly cute, flat mary janes, but, they are too narrow for my feet. I am about a D width, some Cobb Hills are wide enough, some not.

This is my second pair of Rockport Cobb Hill Petra's in black. I bought the first pair a year or so ago, and have worn them for many miles of dog walking on a variety of surfaces and including some inadvertent steps into mud or water. The gray rubber parts of the soles have worn down a bit, but other than that, they are perfectly fine, and continue to be my dog walking shoes. I bought a second, identical pair for nice/casual, and am just as happy with them as with the first pair. My feet are a perfect 7M with no foot problems, and the Petra in 7M is a perfect fit with thin to middle-weight socks, and very comfortable.

Quality shoe made by Rockport. I already own Cobb Hill Patrina. This Petra design was not wide enough in the toes for me, although the 9.5W did accommodate my bunion. It has a great sole and moderate arch. I would add an arch insert if I kept these. They are very attractive with light scrollwork and punch-outs on the toe. A stable shoe for standing all day at work whether with a skirt or pants.

So comfortable! Fits custom orthotics if cut to the right size. I recommend wrapping the footbed in tights (knee highs work) instead of wearing Sperry's, which slip off all the time. Only complaint is that the strap will start to hurt if you walk for several hours in them. But a band-aid will solve the problem.

I have had five operations on my left foot. These shoes are the most comfortable that I have found. I need a roomy toe box. Love these!

This is one beautiful shoe. I take 8-1/2 W, and the fit was very good. There is moderate arch support, not enough for my very high arches, so I slipped in a gel insert and made them perfect. Absolutely no break-in needed. These were comfortable from the start! Thank you very much, Zappo's, for providing this shoe. I haven't found one this comfortable in 10 years.

Love this shoe. I have a bad ankle and can wear this shoe to work and it feels like I'm wearing a tennis shoe but looks much nicer. Very nice looking support shoe at a good price.

Beautiful shoes. Beautiful leather and very well made. Very comfortable, too. I purchased my normal size and they are about a half inch too long. Very roomy toe box, which I need. Thus, I am returning for a smaller size.

These cute shoes were comfortable for all day wear right out of the box. My feet have very high arches, wide forefoot and narrow heels and these fit perfectly. I also have arthritis in my feet and these shoes provided good support. If you’re on the fence about buying these go ahead and do it.

I have a size 11 foot. I also have had previous bunion removal surgery so my foot is very sensitive to pressure on the sides. No squeezing. I love this brand. They just fit my foot from the get go. No break in period needed. Very good arch support also. I bought these to work a retail job, on my feet for 5-8 hours in a shift with no sitting allowed! Maybe not the most high fashion style but I'm past that. They look fine with pants.

I was thrilled with these shoes because they seem to accommodate my extra-long middle toe (longer than my big toe!). I can feel the space for that toe. This is a HUGE problem with almost all shoes I have or have tried and is the source of much discomfort. The souls are non-slip, as I need them to be. Because of the strap. they stay on and I have a hard time with slip-ons since I can'y lift my feet high enough.

I was extremely pleased to find the "buckle" was actually hiding a Velcro closure, making it much easier to put on and take off. Thanks again to your representative who so willingly helped me find a suitable comfortable and safe shoe. The one I had picked earlier had slippery soles, and I do not wish for another fall.

Love these shoes. Only things I wish were different would be for them to have a removable sole and some elastic in the strap.

I have a Cobb Hill Parker which has turned out to be a perfect dance shoe for me, and my custom orthotic fits in perfectly. So I bought this Petra, similar to the Parker, and it fits exactly the same. I will continue buying Cobb Hill shoes. They wear very well and are so comfy.
