I absolutely love these boots! Doc Martens do not come in half sizes, so mine are a wee big, but lace them up and they are fine. They are super comfortable and super cute.

I had seen some reviews about the sizing being off, but if you have ever had a pair of Docs then you won't have any issues with them. I love these boots. You can lace them all the way up or fold them down for a different look.

I love these boots and would wear them everyday if I could. I have rather fussy feet and it is hard for me to find comfortable footwear. These have plenty of toe room even with my orthotics and socks. These were purchased for my work with dogs. They protect my feet and ankles and are stylish.

Great boot! The ribbons soften the military look but still let them be badass. Doc's run a bit big. Go half size down and they should be great with a sock when its colder out.

These are really nice combat boots! Personally, I really like the ribbon option as the boot is pretty chunky (typical Doc Marten) so the ribbon offers a really hip femininity that offsets the chunkiness. They look really fierce - especially with skirts! The toe box is roomy but I would not order more than half a size down. I am a slightly wider than average 7 and I can comfortably wear thick socks. I usually throw in a comfort sole if I am wearing thin socks or tights and it works great (and is super comfortable). They did not take any time to break in as the leather is pretty soft. Just a side note - I tried on several different styles of combat boots and these really nailed the look that I wanted.

Love love love! After reading reviews about running half size larger I was nervous - I am a small 8, I ordered the 7 and hoped for the best! They were snug the first few minutes and now after wearing them 3 or 4 days I don't want to take them off! Super love! I even admire them while they are in my closet! Def a must have. I am an 8 but ordered the 7 and they fit!

I'm on the small side of a US Womens 8. I ordered a UK 5 and they fit just right! The books are super cute. I do notice that the D-ring on the back jingles as you walk, but it doesn't bother me much - only in quiet places!

Love these Docs. I have a growing collection at this point and these will definitely be well-used this fall/winter. No breaking in, as many Docs require, easy and comfortable right out of the box. I now am wearing 7s (used to be a 6.5), and these 38s allow for my orthotic and even thicker winter socks. Even love the wide ribbon ties...great look.

This is the first pair of Docs I've had in a long time, but the quality is still great! Nice medium tone brown. Ribbon laces are very wide, which makes them weird but regular laces are also included. Typically, I wear a 7.5, I sized down to the 7 and still could wear thick socks comfortably. Very comfortable and don't feel heavy.

These are pretty dope Docs! I love the versatility of the boots where I can wear them high or cuffed. I am not crazy about the satin laces, but they do come with the regular laces.

These are adorable and awesome. The ribbon laces are kind of ugly and don't make a whole lot of sense with the industrial look of the shoe, BUT thankfully they came with regular black laces as well, so it was an easy swap out. They have a feminine look that I love, while still being my go-to punk-rock boots.

Sizing was a challenge. I'm 5.5 Womens so I bought a 6. Waaaaaaayyyy too tight. Exchanged the Size 5 for Size 6. Waaaaaayyy too big. (I even tried putting in gel arch support footbed inserts for better fit, but still too big.) Also, when laced all the way up, the top part of the boot restricted my walking stride. (...So maybe fold down the top (as pictured by Zappos) for better comfort?) I returned them. (Thank you Zappos for the free returns! Your excellent customer service is much appreciated!) My solution: I ended up buying and keeping the Harley Davidson Keeler. They cost more than I originally wanted to pay for new boots, but they were soooooooo comfortable and fit my foot so well that I decided to commit to the more expensive boot. Totally worth it to have a boot I can wear comfortably for long hours and walk comfortably in for long distances.

Best Purchase for the year

I was looking for a winter boot that didn't have any type of fur lining, so I purchased my regular size in order to wear thick winter socks. Length and width was perfect. However, they were way too loose at the ankle and I couldn't tighten the laces any more. Back they go :-(

These do fit a bit large, but as a true size 8 there is no reason for me to size down to a 7. It is a wide boot with a larger toe box, so it is not meant to fit tightly. If it wasn’t for the width, I wouldn’t notice any issue with size at all. With insoles I will be just fine.

Love these shoes!!! Ordered a half size down and the fit was perfect! I wore them right out of the box. There is little arch support, so be wary of that. Zappos is the BEST!!

Sizing was great, fit just about how most of my Dr Marten's do. The leather is pretty soft and flexible for a Dr Marten boot which was a definite plus. I thought I'd love the fold over bit, but it just didn't work out for me. Definitely one of the more comfortable Dr Marten styles (at least right out of the box) and if you are looking for a pair with this sort of style I definitely think they are a good buy.

The leather on these boots is softer than my previous Dr. Martens, and they feel like they have much better support and cushioning in the soles. The sizes do run large, however, which makes wearing these in the summer difficult and uncomfortable since I need thicker socks. I am usually a size 9, which is what I ordered, but I feel like an 8.5 would've been a better fit. However, they'll be awesome for winter!

These boots are exactly what I was looking for. I wanted the tough combat boot style with a feminine fit. Sleek and classic with just enough edge. The ribbon laces had to go, but fortunately they came with regular laces as well. The fit is a little off due to the UK sizing. They are about a half size too big for me, which made the ankle of the boot scrunch and dig into my feet. I ended up ordering a pair of insoles to lift my feet so they are better positioned in the boots. Problem solved. No more rub. Plus I can wear thicker socks to add a little more cushion. Overall I am very happy I finally bought these.

I recently ordered 6 different pairs of boots to try. I live in Minnesota and walk to work year-round, so I was looking for a boot that would keep my feet relatively warm (with wool socks) and dry, while also looking good at my business-casual office. These Dr. Martens were really cool, but didn't quite bit the bill for me because they were a little difficult to get on and off. I really liked the look, but they were also a bit too industrial for an office atmosphere, and a bit heavy. I would still recommend them if you are looking for a combat boot--they seemed like they would be very sturdy and hold up well in the elements.

A very stylish combat boot. I love how the width gently hugs the arch of my feet and where the cut is on my lower calf. Looks great with either dress up or dress down. And they were received next day! Thank you Zappos for your awesome service always!

Love them! Fit like a glove! I am however usually an 8.5 but the 8 fits perfectly. The colours isn't exactly what it looks like in the photos. Its not true solid black, they have a green tinge to them. Its not super noticeable unless u pick them up and bring them close look at the colour. Not a deal breaker for me. The soles are super cushy, really comfortable.

I love Doc Marten and my favorite shoe I’ve ever owned is the Chelsea boot, so I figured I’d give these a shot. I kinda knew I wouldn’t love them, and would think they were too clunky, and I was right. Could be good for someone looking for an edgy, clunkier look but I was looking for more of a slim utility boot that could also be dressed up a little.

I bought these about 3 1/2 years ago and thought I'd share the long-term review. Like most of the other reviews, I originally found the sizing to be about one size larger than normal. Since I like a little more arch support anyway, the larger size allowed me to use a really nice thick insole which pretty much made the whole boot perfect. They really didn't require a break-in period and I think the leather was softer than previous Docs I've owned. I loved the look and I have regularly treated the boots to keep the leather nice and water resistant. Unfortunately, about three months ago the top stitching started to separate over the toe box and has just continued to get worse resulting in an 1 1/2 inch separation. I guess they're not meant to last forever but I'm pretty disappointed as I really liked the boots. Don't think they were really up to Doc standards though. I would have originally given them 5 stars but they didn't hold up nearly as well as expected.
