I've had a Commute 2.0 since 2009 and have loved the bag, especially the TSA laptop compartment. It still looks new after 7 years. The only negative was the TSA compartment had to be zipped up for the laptop not to fall out...which when you're pressed from behind in the line means you can't just pickup the bag and zip it up later. I tried the last generation Command because it changed the TSA compartment to hinge on the bottom so you can just pickup the bag and zip later. However, the 1st gen Command was too flimsy and didn't have enough pockets. It was definitely good looking but not practical. This Command 2015 model fixes all of that. It keeps the great improved TSA compartment, but increases the number of pockets. I especially love the 3 pockets that can be accessed without opening the flap of the bag, it means you can get at your headphones, tablet and power supplies while on the move. I have the Medium Command and it's a about 15% smaller inside than the Medium Commute. Its been a little snugger when loading for a longer trip, but its held everything the Commute did. And best of all, its way better looking than the Commute (I have the Carbon & Molasses Command).

A fairly compact briefcase-type bag with lots of slots for tech. Seems small until your laptop and tablet and Harapad disappear into the back pocket, and you still have room in the front for chargers and papers and earbuds and books ..., even a Chinese bamboo flute. (The sheet music, dimo and erjiao fit in a sneaky front pocket.) Your cell phone goes in a pocket inside the top flap, and then there are still two side pockets for a water bottle and knickknacks. I bought my first Timbuk2 bag in 1994, and I'm still using it. Judging from the construction of the Command TSA bag, I fully expect to be carrying it in 2040.

I commute 4 hours everyday. It's a mini adventure every morning. The bag allows me easy access to all the tools I need but organizes them so I'm not fumbling around at critical moments. It's stellar on my commute but shines at the airport and under the seat in front of me on the plane. Knowing I can slip my hand into the Napoleon pocket to grab something quickly is awesome when I'm sandwiched in a middle seat. When I jump on my bike, I add on the messenger clip and the bag stays put. I'm a big fan of the hooks on the front as a way of securing the bag without tricky clips or noisy Velcro (though it is an option) Awesome!

This was a gift for our son, just returning back into the workforce after completing graduate school. He has one of your backpacks, and being familiar with the quality and durability of your products, was extremely excited to get a messenger bag. It's got a ton of storage cubbies and is very nice looking.

This bag is BIG! And it seems to get the job done. The hook closures take some getting used to.

Great bag

This is my first Timbuk2 messenger bag and I have to say compared to my others Timbuk2 is by far the best one I've owned. I own the matching carryon luggage to this bag and they look sharp together. All the things I didn't like about other bags has been addressed here. Great bag supper fictional and perfect for the business traveler.

I use this for travel It has enough compartments, but not so many you loose track It is surprisingly roomy and light

I've burned through a number of bags over the years, trying to find the right balance of comfort, convenience and versatility. I fly a good amount so I really wanted something that was TSA friendly. The faster I can burn through security is the more time I can sleep just before the flight! I have a Victorinox TSA friendly backpack that was OK, but all the stuff in the pockets kept flopping out anytime you didn't sit it down just right. This bag is so simple. Easy access to your laptop without having to open the bag. I have another older Timbuk2 that you have to remove 2 clasps to get inside to get your laptop. Inefficient. I'd recommend sticking with bags that have a separate space for your laptop that can be accessed without getting into the main compartment. I got the small, which has plenty of space for my 13" MBPr. My buddy has the medium which I feel would be too large. Err on the smaller size when in doubt.

I use this product for work. I often need to carry external hard drives, a camera and files. What I don't like is no divider in the computer pocket to protect papers and files. I solved that by keeping a small folder that I can slip loose papers into to keep the computer from damaging them. The exterior pockets are great for wallets, keys, iphones, etc. The interior pockets have good dividers and are easy to use to store and protect your smaller items. The bag looks great too...I love this bag!

Have a large laptop and had difficulty finding case till noe

I use the bag daily for work. It has great compartments that allow me to find things quickly. It is light and comfortable so it never becomes a burden. Style and construction are top notch. My only minor desire is that it had a place to carabiner to secure keys.

I use this bag everyday to carry my laptop and iPad to work and to meet clients. It is professional looking and holds all of the necessary items I need for meetings.This is my 3rd Timbuk2 messenger bag and this one does not have as many pockets for small items as my other bags. Overall, I love it!

I bought the smallest version of the Command. I love this bag. The fact you can just throw it around your side when sitting down on the bus or train gives it a plus-1 over any backpack. Less space than a backpack though, if I could change anything I'd really like if it came with more spots for stationery, perhaps one leak proof pen pocket would be awesome. Other than that, it is fairly water resistant, has a high level of soft protection for my ultrabook, and carries as many as 3 or 4 large textbooks at a time. Not that you'd want to. scores 5 out of 5 for me

I primarily use the bag for work with my Macbook air (13"). Easy fit in the small bag and i especially like the outer zip compartment for the laptop - very convenient not having to open the flap. Very durable, very well designed and offers good capacity without bulk. This is NOT a backpack that functions as luggage for your clothes, etc. It's great for work necessities and more. I only wish it had a closable space big enough for a file folder, the one it has works, but is small and won't velcro shut. The strap is very comfortable, though the plastic strap adjuster should be metal, not plastic - seems cheap. All in all though, highly recommended.

I'm a pharmaceutical rep and I use it everyday. It's large enough to hold everything I need and room for more.

Perfect fit for 15" mcabook pro. I bike commute and this bag is surprisingly compact and lightweight yet holds everything I need and has lots of room for the occasional extra thing to fit.

I'm really glad I bought this bag. I looked at the cargo space abd how manh compartments as my main criteria. But as more usage goes by, I'm appreciating more and more of the clip hooks it has on it. I was skeptical at first whether or not it'll last as long, but it's well made and very convenient for me. I don't have to keep adjusting it to close my bag like I do with straps. Overall, a must have if you have a 15" or more larger laptop and needed the room.

This is my everyday bag.

I have been researching messenger bags for some time. I saw this bag at a local retail store. I was sold when I got to feel it see it in person. I find it light enough not to become a hinderance. It seems durable but have only had it for a few weeks. I use it almost daily and like it more. This is good choice for most consumers.

I am using the TSA Size L for my daily way to work. I Need space for my Notebook, Food and Drinks and mobile stuff. It's a perfect way to pack all this things easily .!

If you're looking for a good Laptop Messenger bag, look no further. Timbuk2 did a great job with this bag by using high quality materials as well as including useful pockets for storing your computer, accessories, and more. I think one of my most favorite features of the bag is the fact that it utilizes aluminum hooks rather than the nylon clips. I notices these will last in colder weather as those nylon clips tend to snap as they get brittle from the cold.

I have owned this bag for over a year now and have used it every day for work. It is the best bag I have owned to date! I am mainly using it as an everyday bag for the office as well as business trips. First off there is no wear on the bag at all. It honestly looks like I just purchased it. My favorite feature and the main reason I purchased the bag was the quick access hooks on the front of the bag. I have actually never used the Velcro on the bag and only use the hooks and they work great! I have never had anything spill out of the bag and they are really easy to access. My second favorite feature(s) on this bag are all of the quick access pockets. It is great to not have to open and sort through all of the bag to find my ID badge or chargers and the back pocket for my laptop is a must have for me from now on. I really do not have anything bad to say about this bag. The quality is excellent and all of the designed features are actually functional and get used on a daily basis. Best bag I have owned!

I use this to carry my 13" lightweight work laptop. I was looking for a bag that wasn't too bulky, was stylish, and was easy to travel with. This hit all those marks and then some. I love all the "hidden"easy access compartments for my wallet phone and other little things I tend to throw in there. In addition to the laptop I carry my iPad mini, all my charging cords and a notebook and it's still lightweight and compact. Best bag I have ever owned, I love everything about this bag.
