The computer compartment is conveniently and easily accessible. We're such a slim design the whole bag is very roomy.

I like this bag a lot. But my main complaints are about the lack of main compartment space or versatility. And the quality of the interior pocket flaps are like Bible thin. Timbuk2 wasn't always like this however. I have several of their older bags and the quality of the fabric inside and out were extremely heavy duty. That's the reason why I bought TimBuk2 bags because they were so durable. I'm sure one of the trade-offs using thinner fabric for interior pockets is probably the production cost and also it saves weight of the bag. I'd love for them to bring back this high quality fabric. Moreover, the interior pockets get in the way of the storage space of the main compartment. You're better off including folders and documents with the laptop inside the laptop sleeve.
Otherwise I really like the bag overall. The strap is super comfortable compared to their previous version. It also stands up better.

I am very desapounted with the product. I don't use it. Hopefully I could change it!

Primarily use this bag as my laptop work bag but also wanted a bag that traveled well. Definitely fits the bill. Just have one issue with the bag -- I wish the bottom was flat. You can't stand it up to get stuff out -- tips over.

I love this bag. It holds a lot of things and has a lot of compartments for those things. Sometimes I wish I got the larger size bag as I tend to fill it with more than it can hold. It can get heavy when filled but still is much more comfortable than a back pack.
I normally carry my MacBook Pro, iPad, Files, Office supplies, chargers, bluetooth speaker, and other personal items. I love the amount of pockets and the location and layout of the pockets. This is a very well thought out design for people on the go. Easy access to all pockets/compartments with out having to get into another one to get what you are looking for. I can access my computer and iPad from the outside very easily and quickly.
One of the only, if not the only con, is the strap. I'm not sure if I like or dislike the quick release on the strap. either way. I love this bag and would recommend this to all personnel for school, career orientated, travel, etc.
Enjoy!!

The command messenger is super intuitive. All the pockets are in the right places, lined with the right material, all of the zippers and openings are in the right places and the roller strap in the back is a lifesaver when travelling. Plenty of room, stylish and comfortable.

I use this daily between home and office. I love how easily my laptop comes in and out of the bag. The bag easily fits a large laptop but is not bulky and cumbersome. I'll buy more.

This is a great bag! The PERFECT size!!! The only issue I have is that the bottom is slightly slanted so anytime I put the bag down, it flops on it's front, so I always need to tilt it so it doesn't flop over. It's annoying, but I still like the bag a lot. If they change the bottom next year, I would absolutely buy it!! Highly recommend!

I bought this to replace my Commute Laptop TSA-Friendly Messenger Bag 2014, which was a small size. So you would think getting the medium version of this bag, it would be a little bit bigger. It has 428 cu in of volume more than my old bag!! Everything is squished in to my new bag. My water bottle barely fits inside the main compartment. There is no key fob holder!! There seems to be less pockets!! No pen holders!! I thought the hooks would be "quick" but it is not, sometimes it takes two hands to open it!! Terrible!! Wish I would have gotten Commute Laptop TSA-Friendly Messenger Bag 2015 instead. :'(

Love the design. Very practical and more then enough space.
My bulky 15 inch laptop just fits, but this can be blamed on the laptop, not the bag.

Beautiful construction. A bit more structure than my last Timbuk2 bag - which I wanted. As a 5'2" woman, I wanted something light and smaller than my classic large bag, and a bag that wasn't black for once! This bag was all that and more. Fits my 15" Apple MacBook perfectly.

High quality fabric and finishes.Cool !
Totaly the same as shown online, no bad surprise.
Fit the back comfy.
easy to use.
Cons : I took the small size on the basis of the online measures (which are ok) but the fabric is so strong that when you use the outside front zip poket it fills the inside space...and reduce the main pocket capacity. Not what I expected
It lacks a space dedicated to hold a standard laptop power supplie. The lateral zip poket is far to small and the fronf zip pocket,humm... well see above ;)
For all customers outside the USA : be carefull since border taxes may apply..without warning. I had to pay 50$ more at the delivery. Ask Timbuk2 customer service some Help since I dind't understand what happened...Still Waiting !

This is a great everyday, every use bag. You can easily take it from being in the office to going on a five day trip without any trouble. The bag is very comfortable and has room to spare. I love the Napoleon pockets and the computer sleeve. My only complain is not enough compartments. My suggestion would be to make available compartments in the main area that allow you to better organize things like keys, cables, adapters, etc.

I bought this bag as a bag I can bring into the hospital and look professional. The bag itself looks nice and has many compartments. The problem is the back luggage strap digs into your back when you put it cross body and tighten the strap. I commute by bicycle. I cannot wear this bag comfortably on my back, the luggage strap digs right across the middle of my back. The bag is also quite heavy, just by itself. With a laptop and books and nick nacks it is really heavy for one shoulder. I am a 5' 3' small asian woman and this bag in medium looked huge on me. Keep that in mind. I returned it after I received it by mail from MEC store. Would not recommend for cyclist commuters.

I use the Command Messenger Bag everyday for work. It has more than ample room for all my needs, perfect for bringing my laptop as well as other daily "essentials". It's light weight, comfortable to carry with or without using the shoulder strap. It's appearance is more than stylish yet classic in design. The bag is more than durable and can with stand any punishment I could dish out. I highly recommend this Messenger Bag to anyone looking for a very hip, roomy and comfortable messenger bag.

I was using a larger version of the Command bag for years, but decided to downsize. This smaller version is just right for my needs when flying between home and California for work. I like most of the updates; the felt lined computer compartment, velcro covers, and the bag being more rigid. One thing I miss though is the series of small zipper pouches down the front. The new one has a few scattered around the bag, but I preferred the earlier design. All around great bag though; I'm happy with it.

Got the black and grey Commander in a medium size and it serves it's purpose well. It's a practical bag that appears to be made of high quality materials (zippers, velcro, etc). Only had the bag for one month so cannot speak to the durability, but I would certainly expect it to last for a few years at the least.
I was most concerned about the size, and the medium is just big enough for my needs. I probably could have afforded to upgrade to a large, but this bag will hold about two 2" binders, and 2-3 textbooks (size-dependent), along with any office/classroom supplies you would need. Anything after that, and it becomes a tight fit. I am involved in an extensive training program so if I need to transport food or clothing items, I'll usually have a backpack-style "shoe bag" stashed in my Timbuk2.
13" MacBook Pro fits easily in the laptop compartment, and I would assume a tablet would fit well without a laptop, but I cannot speak for that, as I do not yet own a tablet.
Strap is comfortable, and the bag is easy to transport. I use public transportation and walk 3-4 miles with this bag daily, and it does not result in any discomfort.
I did get this bag at 25 or 30% off. Cannot say that it is an awesome value at full retail. You can probably get a cheaper bag that is comparable in quality but regardless, I am happy with my purchase. I think that about does it....
