I used these for downhill skiing in Utah. Despite it saying that it is a shell, the pants still keep you warm and have good ventilation if needed. The pockets are well placed and the thigh pocket is excellent to store extra things. The pants seem a little long but work and look well with ski boots. They are well weatherproofed and keep you warm and dry. The cosmic blue color is essentially a navy blue. Overall I would definitely buy these again and recommend to anyone.

Wanted some new snowboarding pants for the much needed new snow in Tahoe right now! Pants arrived timely, look great and function perfectly. I can always count on North Face products to keep me stylish and warm!

Northface is probably the only provider of ski pants that offers length options that accomodates the majority of the people who are not "medium" - this shows a true awareness of customer needs. No more dragging the ski pants bottoms thru mud and slush!!!

My husband is 5"9 & 190 pounds. Wears 34/30 pants. We exchanged them for the short because they were way long. Ordered the large. Just took them tip Fairbanks Alaska and went tubing, dog sledding, and shot pictures of the Northern Lights for multiple hours for 3 nights. Stayed warm and dry with just long under wear under them.

I use the freedom pants for snowboarding throughout the northeast, mostly Vermont. Great pant for the price. A lot of pants out there can be had for a little less than the freedom pants, but the ones I saw weren't quite as tough as these. These are the pants you want so you don't have to worry about snagging the fabric on a lift chair because they're too soft. These pants have the right amount of "bulletproof", and the right amount of "comfy". Would definitely recommend to others.

Great pants that are light and warm. I am a size 32-33 waist and the Medium fits perfect. The adjustable Velcro straps on the waist band help tighten or loosen the waist.

I purchased these pants for my boyfriend as a Christmas gift. We didn't wait until the actual day to open them, since we are on a ski trip now (week before). So far he has had nothing but good things to say about these pants. They are lightweight but warm, waterproof but breathable. Perfect to layer with, and easy to tuck into his snow boots. My only issue was that the waist on the Medium (long) was a little large but, then again, he is a tall and slim guy. Might have just been his narrow waist. Purchased in the "Asphalt Grey" and they match well with a lot. Will be purchasing again in the near future!!

XL Tall was great fit for 6'5" - 230lbs with 36" inseam....typically a 36-38" waist in other pants.

Not only is North Face the only snow gear that we wear, it is the most comfortable and most durable. These snow pants were purchased as a Christmas gift, however, with all the snow we have gotten in Lake Tahoe, they were opened earlier to get some use on the mountain. My boyfriend came home that night and said I love these snow pants. The weather conditions were icy, snowy and wet, and he said everything beaded up on his NEW snow pants and snow jacket (both from North Face) and he was completely dry. (whereas his buddy wasn't so dry). We highly recommend not only these snow pants, for comfort, dryness, warmth, etc but also all North Face snow gear is true to its description and product.

My husband is so excited to hit the slopes with his new pants. The color is fresh and bright, and they are comfortable and warm. Plenty of pockets to store items needed on the slopes.

Way to long. Ordered Large Regular but returned them for large short. Wear 34/30. 5 '9 and 190. The short fit better. Good quality but have not worn freezing weather yet.

This is my 2nd pair of Freedom Pants. The first pair has lasted me over 10 years of heavy abuse in/out of bounds, and they're still going strong. I just wanted another color to change things up a bit. I will never use another ski pant. They are breathable, strong, warm even without insulation, have multiple pockets, powder cuff, etc. Don't waste your money on anything else.

I purchased the Men's Freedom Pants and absolutely LOVE them! They are comfortable, flexible for my level of skiing and warm/waterproof. I would highly recommend these to anyone looking to get a new pair of ski pants. The best part, they are under $200, perfect.

I will start with I love that The North Face makes ski pants that don't have too much extra thigh space. Unfortunately these went a little too far the other way. I am 5'4", 120lbs and the waist and length were great but the thigh/butt were too tight in the small I also bought a pair of the NFZ Pant in a small and they fit great through the thigh/butt. I was also disappointed with the thigh pocket. Although it would hold your items securely it makes them difficult to access quickly. I use these as work pants at a ski area and wanted the thigh pocket for easy access to employee schedules and my phone. But, the pocket is too difficult to access quickly (con for me, pro for valuables:)
