I have already taken these out skiing twice. They met and exceeded all my expectations for comfort and performance. They took a pretty harsh hit on day two from a tree, and still appear brand new. You would have to take a knife to these to rip them!

Yes. I would recommend this pants. I wish the inseam was an inch shorter. I chose the regular inseam. The short inseam would have been two inch shorter which may have been too short for me.

Bought these for my son who wears a 32 in waist. I need short length, but it wasn't in stock.

These were for my 15 year old son who is 5'5" and 125 pounds. They fit a bit looser than ideal, but still look good and he won't grow out of them before the season is over. Great quality as usual from North Face. Great fast service as usual from Zappos!

I highly recommend these pants. I also bought the matching coat. Great product and can't beat the price, a great value. Don't think twice if you are considering these.

Have not used the product in the snow yet, but fit is true to size. The pants are very comfortable.

I never used it, because as soon as I wore it, I realized it's as boxy looking as any $35 product. Nice construction and pockets etc. But the cut is way too roomy for 2016.

Great pants for skiing. Lightweight and comfortable. I ordered the 34 inseam, and at 6'2", they fit perfectly. Highly recommend this for your standard skiing adventure!

I'm glad I got the short inseam. 5'9 175 lbs. Large short fits perfect. These pants are very comfortable and look nice. The vents are nice to leat heat out. Wish there was another pocket or two, but it's not that important to me. They things protect very well from elements. I would definitely recommend as they are comfy and warm. Glad I didn't get the insulated version

The inside of the cuff at the bottom is not properly protected. The additional material is only behind the seam, which is vulnerable to the edges of the ski. I have 46 days on mine this season and have had to repair them. They won't make it to a second season.

I wanted to like these pants as I wanted to utilize them as snowshoeing pants. I wear a size 34 pant and normally I need a belt to go with the pant. 34's aren't super loose, but rather perfect. So I bought Freedom pants in a medium/short and would use the Velcro adjuster to take up the extra inch or two. Length was perfect, but they were pretty tight...meaning I had the Velcro adjuster all the way out. I had them buttoned up, but there was not way it was going to be comfortable to sit or walk. I returned them, ordered a size large/short. Received those and they were way too big. I had the adjusters cinched up and they were still pretty loose and baggy. My opinion is split the difference in sizing between a medium and large. Like I said, I wanted to like these pants as the style was perfect. Just couldn't get the right fit. Ended up going with their Venture half zip pants. For reference, I am 5'-9" and weigh 195 with a 34" waist and 30" inseam.

I wore the pants on a four day trip and was very satisfied. They fit extremely well. I have a 34" inseam and the extra length in the "long" size was great. The pant protected my boots and held up extremely well. They are very comfortable with lots of room for movement.

Honestly the best pair of ski pants I've owned in 30 years of skiing. I'm a 34w and size medium fits like a glove. Not too tight not too loose. Tapers out after the knee to properly/stylishly cover a ski boot. Great bang for the buck.

The pants looked and felt great but we had to return them because they were much too big. My son is 5 ft 9 and and weighs 130. According to the size chart he should have fit in a small. His pant size is usually 28x32

I wore these pants skiing in Courchevel (Trois Vallee, France). Purchased online after reading multiple online reviews from different sites. They performed perfectly. I am 6'5" (1.96 meters), and weight 230 pounds (104 kilos). The pants fit well in the waist after cinching in the adjustable velcro strap. I ordered these pants online and was worried the inseam length would be too short or too long. I normally wear a 32"-34" inseam, so I ordered these in an XL with an L inseam. When I initially tried them on, they felt too long - I was tripping over the bottom hem. However, once I put on my snowboard/ski boots, they were fine; in fact, they were great with my snowboard boots because I had room to bend and stretch without the back of the pants being pulled down. I should mention too that I wore the pants over a base layer of boxer briefs, plus a knee-length pair of basketball shorts for padding/warmth. I didn't use the inseam vents much, as the pants seemed reasonably breathable. The pants kept me warm without overheating. Conditions on the slope that day ranged from rainy at the lower lifts to heavy wind and blowing pellet snow at the middle lifts (top lifts were closed due to wind). Perhaps the greatest thing about these pants was that I didn't notice them. Even with multiple spills, and constant sitting in the snow to bind in, the pants stayed dry and did a great job keeping the wind out. Overall I highy recommend these pants. They are a great buy, especially for this price.

As others have mentioned other manufacturers do not offer more sizing options. I'm 5'7" and the medium shorts were a perfect fit. The other brands ended up being too long and its not like I can go tailor them.

I have an old pair of NF ski pants that I have loved for ten years. They sadly were torn last year and I tried these as a replacement but the sizing is different. The old ones were a mens medium and they fit me perfectly. I ordered another mens medium and they fall off me. I am a 6' tall women so I generally order mens for length. I'm going to try again with a small. As far as the actual pants I never wore them outside so I can't comment, but they seem par for the course for North Face, which is very good quality.
