I wore this with just a t-shirt over it in 20 degree weather while briskly walking and I was warm enough without getting sweaty. The material is soft and lovely, and the cut is long enough that my slightly longer torso doesn't experience the gap.

I do physical work in an industrial refrigerator, and this is a perfect base layer. It keeps me warm, but also wicks away sweat. It is stretchy enough to allow total freedom of movement, but it still holds its shape. I recently purchased a third NTS mid crew sweater in the charcoal color, but the oldest one I have shows no wear and tear, loosening, or color fading after more than a year of heavy use. While I mostly use these sweaters for work as a base layer, they also look very nice on their own. Paired with jeans they make a great casual top in cold weather.

This is a warm and comfy long sleeved t-shirt that I will wear all winter. Great for layering with a puffy vest!

This is such a great layer. The dark grey color especially looks really nice- I can use it as a cold weather baselayer and I also wore it to a Thanksgiving party. It can even be layered with a lighter weight smartwool base (like the 150) for a super cold weather base system. I have bought more than one of these and consider it an integral part of my winter layers.

I use it for hiking and sometimes around the house in the winter. This is the second one that I purchased.The first one was about 10 years ago, and it is still going strong.

Great fit. I love wearing it around the house, out walking, under sweaters and jackets and I am always comfortable.

I get cold very easily due to an auto immune condition, and use this base layer to keep me snug and warm in the winter time. It is so soft and durable. I have another base layer from smart wool that has lasted me 5 years so far. I can't thank you enough for making such a great product. It has helped me so much!

This is my go to shirt, I'm always cold. I like to wear this crew because I don't need so many layers to be comfortable. And the colors, oh my, they are definitely jewels in my wardrobe.

I purchased this wool top for its color as well as for its warmth as a base layer. I am a ski industry professional and love wool for its ability to repel stink! I am 5'4" 135 and a small fits through the body perfectly. The sleeves are long on me, but I don't mind in the least. The dark green called "loch ness" is beautiful. Time will tell on durability...

I work in an air conditioned office environment, at a desk. This Smartwool shirt is the perfect layer to wear beneath a lightweight blouse, keeping me warm all day! I can even go for a brisk walk during my break and not get too warm.

Life would be more difficult without Smart Wool. I wear it around the house, around town, hiking and walking. I am one of those "always cold" people and quickly discovered that one layer of Smart Wool runs circles around 3 layers of cotton.

This is my favorite base layer. I wore this during the winters of Iceland and it kept me warm and comfortable. I also find the shirt to be figure flattering. I have a little extra around my mid section so I do not like clothes that are too tight. This base layer lays really easily on my body, not too loose, just perfect! I want this in every color! But I LOVE the Purple so much!

Love this shirt. I know it is meant to be a base layer, but I use it as a shirt during the autumn and winter. It is really comfortable -- stretchy, so never binds. And because it is wool, it is warm, but never too hot. I'd own 10 if they weren't so expensive. Washes great as well. Couldn't be happier.

I cannot fully explain how much I love this shirt. It's flattering, warm, and the quality is out of this world. I bought it for a trek in Nepal that I have coming up soon, so I haven't worn it much yet. Looking forward to it!

Smartwool has produced a wonderfully comfortable shirt! It can be worn as casual or for work layered with a sweater/cardigan or blazer over it. It washes well and I prefer hanging it to dry (skipping the dryer to ensure it doesn't shrink). Love the length of the shirt, which lays nicely over a pair of pants. I am definitely buying this again in other colors! If you love this shirt, then you will also love, love, love the Womens NTS MID 250 Pattern Crew (similar fit and soft to touch).

As a baselayer, and alone in cool weather.

I wear this for ice fishing and any other outdoor activity as a perfect base layer or just as a top. I also use it for a base layer at work. Perfect for a chilly office and even outdoors.

Great base layer!! Love wearing it under my scrubs for added warmth or with a vest for morning walks, and running errand. Great basic, for camping, hiking or laying around the house : )

This is so soft! Not scratchy at all, which I feared. Kept me very warm when skiing. Will likely buy another one soon.
