The leather smells too strong. I can't wear it.

I ordered a size 8.5 with the normal width, my baseline. I don't have particularly wide feet at all, but Steve Madden shoes that I've tried in the past have a very narrow toe box that pinches the balls of my feet, I guess I just forgot about that. There was enough room length-wise and the ankle fit perfectly, but I had to order a wide size on this one, which I've never had to do before. The wide is ever so slightly wider in the toe box, but the main place it's wider is in the ankle. I feel like the wide size isn't about the foot part of the shoe, where I needed it, it's more for women with thicker legs/ankles. If I tighten the 8.5W where it was snug to my ankles---well, I can't, because there's way more fabric than on the normal width 8.5. They are really cute though, so I'm going to keep them in hopes that they stretch out a little over time--- I'll just have to wear them with socks that pad out my ankles. One other thing to note is that the smell of shoes fresh outta the box is extremely strong---I wore them new at my desk and it gave me a headache to smell the chemical stench all day. Just something to be aware of if you're sensitive to strong smells!

These are beautiful boots, but the wide size was too narrow for me so I'll be returning them. Bummed!

Ordered 8.5 W, unfortunately these boots are insanely narrow. They also run very small in actual shoe length (size). If you need a wide, avoid these. If you can go with a medium width, order a full size up.

Ordered a wide and it was NOT wide. Definitely tight and especially right across the top where there is a seam. Disappointed because these are cute in person and I was so excited they came in a wide. Will have to return.

I really loved the look of the boot, however, I ordered a wide and it was not at all wide. Luckily for my daughter, she wears the same size (but doesn't need a wide), so she got a free pair of boots.

Hope there is more cushion. Now it’s very hard when you walk. Also the instep is very narrow and it feels pretty tight. Other than these two things, it’s very good.

Love the style of the shoe. I had the original Troopa and wanted a pair with the rugged sole. However, sole is plastic like and not rubber. It also squeaks with you walk. Sad but will be returning.

I have a pair of older Steve Madden combat boots in black and I just love them. I found myself in need of some brown ones so I tried these. They’re not as comfortable as my old pair and have no arch support. They also run a little big, my feet slide around in them. I got some inserts with arch support and they helped with the fit and comfort too. I love the look of them!

Strong odor and thought the quality was sub-standard for the price point.

I was very excited to receive these boots. I had previously owned the Troopa boots and wore them happily for way too many years. The 2.0 definitely seemed like they were gonna be the new and improved. Loved the style, loved the look...suuuuper uncomfortable. Unfortunately will be returning.

Conflicted on these. I might return them. Style-wise, they're a total 10. I mean they are CUTE! However, they are not easy to get on and not very comfortable. Not sure it's a size issue, but rather the fit. No arch support, hard sole, and the lower tongue area is too tight around the top of my foot. Also my heel rubs, and since it's already tight on my foot, I don't think an insert would fit at all. I have relatively wide feet, and maybe this is the issue? I really want to love them, but am definitely more about comfort than style. Will wear around the house a bit more before I decide, but these will likely get returned. I bought a similar boot, but in a different color, that is a Cobb Hill brand and those fit perfectly. The price does not compare to this though.

These are very wide on my ankles with no way to lace down. No ankle support whatsoever. Also, these have a horrible smell which has not gone away after a week of airing out in my entryway.

An entire size too small and narrow. They look like faux leather, yet state they are leather on exterior.

these were shockingly small -- I could barely get them on, and when I did they felt quite pinched. also, the smell out of the box was strong. they look cute, but they are definitely going back.

I loved this boot so much but the soles don't hold up well. I've owned two pairs but I am not going to purchase again. The soles of both pairs cracked and fell apart after no more than 8 months. There is also little arch support in these, so style is about all they have going for them. It's too bad cause they sure are cute!

I got these boots on Dec. 2, 2015. I took them out of the box and loved the look. They fit well. They smelled horrible of a strong chemical that even got on my hands. I didn't send them back because I thought it would go away. But it is now Feb. 26, 2016 and the smell is as strong as ever. Too late to send back.

I wanted to love these. They are really nice looking and they smell beautiful - real leather. I got mine in brown and the color is gorgeous. But they are so hard and uncomfortable so I am sending them back. I do not think breaking them in would help either. There is some flex when you take a step but the sole is just so darn hard.

I wear a lot of Steve Madden shoes and find them to be very comfortable. I usually size up when ordering boots as I like to wear thick socks. These were too small right out of the gate and weren't very comfortable. Returning, although they are really a beautiful well made boot.

Hello I’ve already spoken to someone about this order. This was a fraudulent purchase. I had to change my password and had to make sure that there wasn’t any purchases made to my card that is on this account.

I ordered for my daughter, happy that the boots were lined in leather. However, the exterior leather appeared and felt cheap. The soles had barely any tread and are made of a material that would wear down quickly. Sending back.

Order the wide x2 and both times they came as M

Never even tried them on. The smell was so overwhelming I put them right back in the box.
