I love these boots! I have high arches so I often put my orthotic inserts into shoes which I did with these boots. The laces made it easy to adjust. I wear them with leggings and jeans and boyfriend jeans- it's a cool relaxed look. I am usually a size 10 and that's what I got. Without inserts they felt good - more on large size than small. The leather is very nice- seemed hard at first then became softer. For price they rock!

I ordered this boots in black. Based on others' reviews, I order size 8.5 which is my usual size for shoes, and 9 which Is my sometime size when the product doesn't carry half sizes. Size 8.5 black was out of stock so I ordered grayish-beige stone leather color in 9. Size 8.5 feels true to its size. They fit perfectly. So I returned size 9, but I liked the stone leather color so much I ended up ordering another pair, stone leather 8.5, from another website. The boots look very nice. It is a casual style boots, so the black leather is not that shiny but nice and soft. I actually liked that the tongue is wide and is sewn on to the inside. So it doesn't curl up or slide to the side and stays in its place. I compared the images of Troopa2 and original Troopa and I think I like 2 better because of its thick heel and more sporty look. My 16 year old daughter also is 8.5 and she wore black pair the next day to school. She said they were very comfortable and she likes the boots a lot. I'm glad I bought another pair in different color so now I can wear stone and she can wear black and we both are happy. I think stone color looks more chic than black. Goes well with many style.

I have the Troopas in black and have had them for years. Decided to get Troopa 2 and so far so good! I'm usually 6.5 in shoes, 7 in boots. I got the 7s and they fit.

The boot is very cute, would have loved to be able to keep but the wide is to narrow for my foot. I gave comfort 1 star because I was not able to wear due to being to narrow

The regular width was tight with heavier socks, but more so in the instep. The wider felt better in the instep (to the point where I kept them), but they feel a bit loose in the toe box area. The style works well over leggings and skinny jeans and under straight leg pants. The seam across the front is a simple feature but makes them look a bit more stylish. The heal height is minimal but just enough to give a hint of height. They are not meant for cold weather. The only drawback is that after wearing them for the first time and for a short time, I found that they left black scuff marks all over my kitchen floor (not good).

Love these boots. I’m a plus sized girl who needs shoes that are wide but sturdy. These fit the bill really well!

I love these boots. This is my second pair of Troopas. I wore out the first pair and thought I'd try something else - well I ordered several other brands but none of them "sparked joy" so I sent them all back and ordered the Troopa2.0. I'm very happy and have worn them everyday.

These boots are cute. the size was right. they meant to be tied halfway down the shaft. the picture doesn't show that. I am in my late 50's, and would not wear them half laced. I tried to lace all the way- since they have a zipper- and then wear them like that. The problem is the tongue, since the design is to have it visible, it has too much volume to stuff into the shaft. I am sending back.

I recently bought these and really like them. Like others have said, the heel height is really good - decent lift but still walkable. I also like that they're leather inside and out. I love the zip for getting in and out of easily. The style is cute - a little sleeker and less clunky than a combat boot. Personally, I will wear these with dresses and skirts as well as pants, but I like that look. Others have mentioned that they're hard but I'd have to disagree. Compared to most boots like it, like a Doc Martin, these are much softer and more flexible right from the start. And I'm sure they will loosen up more and more as I wear. I wore them all over NYC right after buying and found them very comfortable - aside from some initial standard break-in aches.

I wanted to love these because I've been looking for a mid-calf combat/granny boot to replace a beloved pair (from Target! a few years ago). Unfortunately these have a weird fit issue with trying to get them on. The construction around the heel is so stiff that it's a wrestling match trying to get your foot inside. Once they're on, they're comfy and fit well but I'm afraid that all the tugging & pulling to get my foot inside will end up damaging the inside of the boot. Sadly they're going back.

Bought the Zappos recommended size and fit was perfect. I wore them right out of the box all day without any rubbing or discomfort. I did wear socks. Look great! Nice leathers uppers. Very comfortable. My only complaint is the soles...look ok, but are cheap, hard and mark floors. Would not have bought them if I had known about the soles!

this boot fit perfectly but emits an odor that makes it unwearable. Straight out of the box the fumes were intolerable. I had to send them back. I would rate them a 5 but for the odor

I liked the look of these boots, but the support was not enough for me. I have slightly high arches and the support simply was not there. The leather is nice quality. Ultimately, I returned them.

I really wanted to like these, and I suppose for the price they were okay. They just looked super cheap. They didn’t smell good either as some commented - very chemically. I think they say the leather is treated with polyurethane, so that makes sense. I returned them.

I love the style of the boots. Whenever I look at boots online, I always find myself selecting these. Trying them on, I still loved the style! Unfortunately, after trying them on for even a few minutes, they were uncomfortable. A stitch near the top of the zipper cut through my pair of socks and scratched a red line in my calf. With no arch support and limited padding, my feet could not take more than a few minutes. I thought about insoles, moleskin, and many other options. Ultimately, I decided to return them and find something stylish comfortable boots. Still looking for the perfect pair of boots.

I had and LOVED the Troopa 1.0. These, not so much. I was hoping they would break in but they haven’t after 3 months of almost everyday use. I’ve tried different inserts to help with arch support, and foot and lower back pain (which I don’t have when I wear my other shoes). Nothing helps. They’re uncomfortable shoes. I wish I hadn’t bought them.

If you are getting these for work where you'll be on your feet all day or for walking around a lot-I do NOT recommend these boots! My feet were KILLING me, even hours after I took them off! This has never happened to me before. The sole is NOT rubber, it must be plastic because it feels like plastic and there's no bounce. They're cute but not comfortable if you're going to be walking around a lot. I'm returning and I hate to return.

I purchased these after being an original Troopa wearer for years. I decided why not step it up? I normally wear a 5 and I order a 5.5 to fit my insoles in. In the original, I always get a 5.5 and it fits perfectly with my insoles. The Troopa 2.0 in a size 5.5 wouldn’t even fit my insoles. I couldn’t get them in all the way. I thought that was weird. So I managed to try them on without my insoles and they were tight in the instep but, at the same time loose at the heel. I really like the rugged sole of the Troopa 2.0 but the fit is horrible. I will be returning them.

The attached tongue is driving me nuts and pinching me, plus the foot bed is too narrow , beautiful leather and the sole of the boot is nice but it's not the right one for my feet.

These boots are marked as wide, but they definitely are not.

I order a 8.5 and 9 in both troopas and troopa 2s bc I wanted one of each but differnt colors. The 9s were entirely too big and the 8.5 too small. None of them fit right. So frustrating. I compared the sizes and they're NOT a half size difference but a whole size more like it. I even measured them and the sizing didn't match up at all. I found better ones from differnt brands.

I have two comments for everyone here. 1. These shoes run half size smaller than normal. I'm a size 8.5 and I needed a 9 in these shoes. They are so cute, I would have exchanged, except for point number 2. These shoes stink out of the box. Other people have commented on this, but not many so I figured that it wasn't a major issue. I went on a week vacation so left them out in my apartment hoping that by the time I returned they would 'air out.' No such luck. I came back and my entire apartment smelled like a tannery. Not worth smelling everywhere I go so back they went. Bummed because they are a great looking boot and I would have dealt with the other issues no problem. Now back to the search for the perfect affordable yet comfortable combat boot.

The heel was too loose and the lack of arch support made them quite uncomfortable. When I opened the box I was almost overcome by the smell of some type of chemical(s). I have chosen not to risk trying an arch support and wearing them for awhile to break them in that I don't think that would improve the level of comfort enough to enjoy wearing them. Really disappointed. I will be returning them.
