I have had these shoes for less than six months. I bought them primarily for my volunteer job of cook at the soup kitchen. One day a week for seven hours on concrete floors. With my problem feet, I regularly end up limping for a couple of days after each shift. At first I thought I had died and gone to heaven with these shoes. I actually could walk after my shift with little to no pain. That lasted about 2 months, then the pain returned. Ouch. I have been experimenting with different insoles and that helps, but really, $160 for 2 months of comfort is pretty expensive. With the $35 insoles the shoes are still comfortable, but it does make rethink my opinion of the “wonder brand” that is being sold here.

I really wanted to like these shoes. I have a pair of the Bondis and I love them but I needed something for hiking. The issue I had was that the heel seemed too wide. The toe box area was fine but my heel slipped up and down when I walked in these even though the length of the shoe was fine. I plan to try a pair of the trail runners.

My heel slipped and I couldn't correct it by using a lock lace pattern. Had to send them back.

Got just before a trip to Alaska and got the same size as previous Hokas. But those were wide, these not and if I'd had time I would have gotten a larger size. Will probably only buy wide widths in the future.

I use this shoe for most walking and hiking, but it is not soft or has much cushion inside. My feet stay dry in wet conditions. Good for day hike because of the tread.

i loved the old version of this shoe. i don't know why it was reconfigured or restyled but the new version does not fit like the old one, especially in the arch support. it used to be perfect and now i will have to find a new work shoe.

Loved it till it soon stopped being waterproof. Then the sole peeled off of one foot.

I wasn't sure what star rating to give for this shoe! It didn't work for me, but that doesn't mean it won't work for you. I'm a big-time backpacker and do multiple trips per year. But this year, I've become afflicted with bad plantar fasciitis. Not the kind where you wake up and feel pain for a couple of moments, but the kind where you become completely crippled and have to hobble around. The kind where I've needed a boot for weeks on end and multiple cortisone shots, physical therapy, etc. I have ever-so-slightly narrow feet; not enough to ever have needed to order narrow shoes, but just a tad off from "normal". I wanted these shoes to work as my foot had finally healed enough to attempt my annual long trip and I wanted Hoka's for the extra comfort and cushioning in case the problem flared up. My problem with these shoes was that the back and the front seem to have been designed by two different companies! The toe box seems normal to me for a hiking shoe: sort of wide, but not too wide. Plenty of room for toe splay, but fine for a slightly narrow foot or regular foot. Then there's the back half of the shoe, which seems to have been designed for extra wide feet! You'll see quite a few reviewers mentioning heel slippage - and that's what was happening to me. You really can't have your heel moving about and going up and down when hiking or backpacking. That's a recipe for major blisters and discomfort. It should feel locked in place. Not so at all with this shoe. Everything was perfect except for that heel area. Super wide and odd given the dimensions of the rest of the shoe. So if you have a wider foot, the front half of the shoe might not work for you, but if you have a normal to narrow foot, the back half will probably not be right! Alas, I had to return them and stuck to my usual backpacking shoe for my long trip (which ended up working out perfectly anyways). Lastly, they seemed quite hot.

Have hiked in this shoe on a moderate, mildly rocky mountain trail. The cushioning is excellent for my arthritic feet. No other hiking shoe I know of can compare to its comfort. The shoe is very sturdy and appears to breathe as well as any waterproof shoe I've owned. However, as with many of HOKA's shoes, the toe box narrows more than other brands, and on the downhills, it pinches my little toes, even though I have ample room at the end of the toe box. I also found that the sole of this shoe is narrower, less flared at key points like the forefoot and heel where side-to-side stability is crucial on uneven terrain. One final improvement should be made...it would help to have an extra set of eyelets at the ankles to allow for a more snug fit, like that of a running shoe. Am going for a more strenuous hike this week to give it one more try before making a final decision on this shoe.

They would've been perfect except they really needed to be an 8 Wide instead of just an 8. Other than that they were roomy, fully cushioned, & stable.

I first bought the Tor Tech mid WP in Nightshade/Teaberry in an 8 1/2 because I wear thick hiking socks. I bought those at a small sport shop in a city near me. I liked them so much that I decided that I wanted to also have the Tor Summit in the low cut shoe. It wasn't available near me plus I wanted to try the 8 and wasn't sure it would fit me, so I ordered that shoe directly from Hoka One One. They arrived and I was elated at how comfortable and good fitting they were. About the same time my summits arrived, the end of my shoelace for my Tor Techs came off making the end loose and impossible to lace and very susceptible to unraveling. I had only had my Tor Techs for 10 days and used them three times. I took them to the sport shop to show them so that they would get me replacement laces that went with my new shoes. I had been waiting for several days and just found out that Hoka does not warranty or have replacement laces for their shoes. All of Hoka's shoes are beautiful vibrant colors, and the laces always match the shoes. So, I have a brand new pair of shoes with a defective lace that matched the shoes, and I am not allowed to have a replacement for something that clearly was defective. I understand that a company cannot supply extra laces for every single shoe that they make matching each shoe, but I don't think it is good policy for a company to basically say "screw you" to someone who has one of their shoes for 10 days that through no fault of their own got a defective lace. When you get new/fancy shoes like that, you would like them to look that way for at least more than 10 days. I'm just very disappointed in Hoka One One for not standing up to their product. To me, that would be a problem with lousy customer service. The shoes are nice though. I just think I would be happier with a company that stands up for its products more than 10 days. Just my opinion though.

This shoe was a size 7 but because I wear heavier wool socks, I thought it would be a better fit for my 6.5 foot. Wrong! Ordered the 6.5. Thank you!

Order these shoes one size down. Normally an 8.5, but after 2 weeks, the shoes have either stretched or my feet shrank down a size. Must now wear 2 pairs of light socks to keep my feet from sliding inside the shoes.

Really good looking walking shoe. Not sure yet about support. Been doing short walks in the flats and feet are aching after use. Fit seems true to size. Did add a strong hiking insole. Wondering if the shoe floor is too soft for real hiking but will test and see.

These have a very comfortable footbed. I had to return them as the heel bed was not deep enough to accommodate my orthotic insoles. My heel slipped.

I love the gray color with the blue. These shoes are made extremely well with great materials.I ordered my usual size and found them to be at least one size too short and so tight in the forefoot my foot went numb in about 15 minutes. Unfortunately I had to send them back.

This could be a great shoe except that by designing it with the tongue attached, the excess material at the point where it detaches forms a lump of excess material that it terribly uncomfortable.

Nice looking with a lot of toe space, but unfortunately the arch of the right shoe does not match the arch of my right foot. The left is fine. I ordered both colors, and it was the same on each pair.

This is a very nice looking hiker, I love it except the laces don't come up high enough for me, so I am returning them. I know my feet well enough to know that it will drive me crazy if I feel like my ankle isn't secure. I don't know why they did this, the other off road sneaker/hikers have nice high laces.

I have had 3 three pairs of these and had to return them each time because the thing that holds the laces has ripped each and every time - my last pair - went to lace them up for the second time after being brand new and again the lace holder broke !!! so not great quality but such an amazing comfortable hiking shoe - I will miss you dear TOR!!

So i have lost 3 toe nails hiking in this boot. i am not sure why or whether or not it is the boot or my foot. the reason i say the boot is that it is extremely wide and that being said, it does not hold my foot in that well and so my foot is moving all over inside the boot. i am going to get a trail running hoka at this point. they are lighter and way less wide . i also pronate and these boots are the worst if you pronate as they are too wide and so do not hold your foot in at all.
