Using Speedgoat's for my daily runners, however for Saskatchewan Canada's harsh winters I decided to try these for winter running. They feel slightly flatter than the speedgoat and fit a little larger, but overall I don't think they can be beat. completely waterproof lower boot keeps the snow out and the heat in, no need for bulky wool socks, these things are great! only close call I've had with traction was crossing an intersection of sheer ice.

I started doing more hiking in the Sierra's and other trails. I tried on many of the top rated brand hiking boots but even though I read many good reviews I just couldn't find a fit that I loved. Mostly the other brands felt either too heavy, too stiff or both. I guess coming from a running background I valued a light feel. The Hokas feel light and comfortable but still with great cushion. I've been hiking in them a few months now and they are holding up great. I can't find my size to purchase a second pair now so I'm worried they will discontinue them. Please Hoka no! Best hiking shoes ever!

I had been looking for high-top, with very cushioned soles, athletic shoes for over a year without success. I have a chronic, very weak ankle that needs some support and nephropathy which causes very sensitive feet that also constantly produce pain/ I almost never walk barefooted because of it! My feet are a little wide and I often have rouble buying comfortable shoes. Since I bought my first pair of Hoka One One Hi Tops about a month ago, they are all I wear all day long! They fit great with adequate room, they are soft and springy when I walk in them and are very easy to put on! I am getting back into taking long walks again! I was so impressed I ordered another pair and now have the bright red/ orange and the blue/ yellow pairs! Even though a little pricey, I highly recommend them! I hope and trust the quality is there that they will last awhile and be worth the cost.

Purchased for hiking and Indiana Winters. The hiking so far has been great. No doubt about how well they will hold up to the winter after a good waterproofing. Purchasing these was a no-brainer after putting ~25miles/week on my Hoka One One Running shoes.

just returned from a 120 mile backpack with these boots after a very short 30 mile break in period.
I cannot tell you how comfortable these boots were ....whether we were on rocky trail or unstable off trail. We walked through creeks, day long rain, snow, and loose rocky trails. These boots were rock solid. No break in period needed and my feet loved them.
They are not water proof at all and after a short time ...water resistance is really not a factor as they will allow water in but dried out pretty quickly over night for the most part.
The durability of the sole and toe guards are sure suspect as my boots show some serious rock damage on the toe area but the soles held up much better than I thought.
I definitely recommend these boots to anyone looking for a comfortable, supportive alternative to trail runners. They are worth it !

I just got done wearing these boots for over 150 miles on and off trail though Alberta Canada.....the conditions were muddy, wet, and snowy. Mostly cool to cold conditons. my feet felt great even as the days exceed 11-12 miles of bakpacking. I highly recommend these boots with the only caution is that thread may wear out quicker than hardier soles and the boots are not waterproof. I am sold on Hoka One One.

I recently traveled to Peru to complete a 7 day, 6 night hike of the Salkantay to Inca Trail to Machu Picchu trek. I cannot express how satisfied I am with the Hoka Tor Ultra Hi WP. The terrain was everything from dirt path, to rock, to water, to grass. Never once did I slip, never once did I turn an ankle, and never once did I not love my hiking shoes. You've got a customer for life!

I usually hike in trail running shoes (lately Brooks Cascadia 11), but for big days with a pack or crampon-questionable outings (yes, strap-ons work, but don't get any ideas about technical footwork), these things are amazing. They're light but supportive and feel great all day -- you might even jog that last mile to the car. The e-vent is good for snow and stream crossings but it does keep your feet toasty. I do a sock swap at lunch to keep the swampiness at bay.
As for sizing, I'm somewhere between a 12 and 12.5 and went with the 12s. They fit great, though I have pretty narrow feet. As for in-brand sizing, I've run in a few different Hokas and these fit and feel more like the Bondi than the ATR 2.

substantial , good looking sneaker-boots that really give a sense of suppport to your feet , ankles and legs..even my back .. i removed the original insole and replaced them with a pair of Dr.School's Acive Serires Triple Zone protection insoles..even more fabulous now.
I'd also recommend:
none for now..

My first pair of Hoka's and I was sold. Spend everyday at the gym and in the woods with the dogs. Trails (and no trails) this sneaker offers stability, traction and foot protection.

Received the boot very quickly, paid for the 1 business day delivery. I had two other new boots, a pair of Keen's and Merrell's that I was wearing around the house for the last week to see which one I liked the best. When these arrived and I put them on I immediately knew they were the ones. The are so comfortable! I just went for a 3 mile run in them this morning and they are incredible. I would recommend these to anyone and I never write reviews!

I tried the hoka valor first. Super comfortable but my prescription orthos caused my feet to roll outward after a couple months. THESE ARE PERFECT. They light and comfortable but perfectly support foot AND ankle.

I love Hoka running shoes so I was excited to try Hoka boots. I found the boots felt thinly padded and uncomfortable when I first laced them up all the way. So, I made them loose and did not tie them up to the top holes. HOWEVER, after about five minutes of hiking I realized that nope, I needed to tighten them up and tie them all the way to the top. Five minutes later I felt like I didn't even have boots on at all! They are so light and amazingly comfortable! They are super cushy but not as cushy as the running shoes - nor would I want them to be! They are very light weight. They flex a lot. I will soon start carrying a weighted pack to see how they do. With so much flex, I think my feet may get fatigued but with so much cushion... maybe not. For now, these boots are the best for cushion and comfort!

Great shoe...lightweight, good support, sure grip. Put 'em on and take a hike. I usually wear a double EE width but these were fine! They're great looking, too and the Oxford Tan is almost a desert camo.

Amazing! Wasn't sure what to expect but these shoes/boots are super comfortable and lightweight. If you are going to be on your feet a lot I would say give these a try.

I purchased these for a Presidential Traverse. They did not disappoint. I found them ideal for this trail as it involves almost exclusively boulder fields. The sneaker qualities of this boot make it a perfect lightweight shoe for an overnight or weekend trip.
