I got plantar faciitis during training after strapping on the 45 lb backpack. I couldn't walk at all. I bought the Hoka running shoes, that worked great. But I needed ankle support for hiking around Mt Rainier. I ordered these boots. I have rave to anyone who will listen about Hoka boots. Day one was 19 miles with a ton of downhill. And it rained that day. My rainpants were long and covered most of the boot either way my feet stayed dry all day. I never had a sore or hot spot. I never feel like I have plantar fasciitis when I have on my Hokas. I can go all day. 52 miles on very rocky terrain and my weak ankles never had a problem. I bought the boots a size too big so I could cinch them up for miles down hill and not feel toe pain. It worked perfectly. I did lose my right big toenail later. But it wasn't from the boot. I tend to raise my toes as I walk and that repeated action was the cause. It's happened before on big hikes. The wear on the boot is noticeable but not dramatic. They will be good for a few hundred more miles I am sure. I have approximately 250 miles on them now. I will be hiking the Tetons this summer and will be using them exclusively.

Please bring back WIDE sizes! So miss this shoe as regular fit is just too narrow for me.

I have had these hikers for over 2 years now and I cannot say enough of how this particular pair of hikers has helped my feet, legs etc! I walk every day 10 miles I'm 67 years young ! Will definitely be buying another pair soon! Don't QUIT MAKING THIS !!! Best hikers I have ever had!! Also for walking I just purchased the Hoka Gaviota! To early to rate as they are new, but so far really great shoe!

I work in a warehouse and never had planter fasciitis before then and these boots greatly reduced the foot pain. I can now function after work instead of being laid up

I purchased these boots to compete in Tough Ruck which is sponsored by the Boston Marathon. It is a 26.2 mile ruck march with 35 LBS. These boots were the best option for me. I was going to use my old military boots. It was a mix terrain course, rocks up hills, down hills, water, mud, sand, and pavement. I had minimal damage to my feet small blisters on my toes, 0 hot spots anywhere else. I know that at least 5 other team mate turned me onto these boots and I'm glad that I did. I know that there will be even more people turning to these boots next year as well. You guys make some great boots and I'm sure everyone that did wear them will be spreading the word.

I wish that Hoka would once again make these in wide. I've moved to the Bondi 5, which is a great shoe as well, but it's not waterproof, and doesnt have as good traction for hiking.

They fit true to size, ( I have a slightly wide foot). So if you wear Sketchers or New balance normally they will fit fine. Walking the dog and to work is where I wear them. Some off road involved and mud. I hosed them off well and did not feel any moisture.

I do a lot of trail running, especially in the winter. These hightops have great traction, comfort and keep the snow /ice out. My feet feel so luxurious in them, even after a long run.

Absolutely love the Hoka 1 brand, they have been a blessing for my feet. I have neuroma in my left foot and wearing any other brand just seems to inflame the nerve. I can wear the Hoka's all day with no pain. Have been wearing Hoka 1 brand now for about 3 years and just purchased my 2nd pair of boots. The first pair lasted me just about a year and probably should have been replaced a little earlier.
My only real complaint is, I can't get the all black and the other colors are out of stock on size 13 limiting me to only 1 color to purchase. Also would be nice to see some kind of sale once in awhile.
Other than that Love these boots.

I had to go with a men's boot for width and love the toned down color. I'm not a bright color person. No break in period. Pure comfort. Great work boots for me on uneven terrain. Wish they made a dress shoe for women.

Only had them a few days so I don't have a lot to say. They are very comfortable and have the best grip in icy conditions of any hiking boot I have ever owned.

Tor Ultra Hi Waterproof Hiking boots - I selected these boots for a recent trip to Bhutan. I did not have a lot of time to break in the boots. And fortunately I did not need it! These boots were mostly comfortable right out of the box. Though, I did have a slight issue with a bit of an ankle bite on one of the boots on my first hike. After the first 2 to 3 mile hike the problem went away. In Bhutan the boot performed extremely well. The light weight boot still provided all the support around my ankle that I needed. We crossed a couple of creeks during our trek and my socks remained dry. From 7,000 to 12,000 feet, the boots made my Bhutan experience perfect! Thanks Hoka One One, maybe Nepal will be next!

Originally ordered size 9 (my running shoe size) and foot was to narrow, reordered a 9 1/2 and fit is perfect.

I tried it out for over a week to see of the width would stretch, but didn't work out. Really comfortable shoe so will try going up a 1/2 size to see if it helps.

While not really designed for keeping warm these Tors are great in the teens and twenties and the grip is second to none; if Tors slip so will everything else. On my second pair in three years due to tread separation on the heel*ahem*cough*cough* that I could not resolve with shoe goo but I love the security of these babies on ice so the fifth rating star is the star of forgiveness. Cushioning is superb as usual.

Best shoes I've ever bought! I was 69 when I bought my first pair! I have foot pain caused by Neuropathy, or nerve pain. I can't walk bare footed because of the discomfort/ pain but these shoes are a dream to walk in! I bought my first pair a year ago and since I first put them on, I haven't worn anything else! They may look a little out of place in some more formal occasions, but my comfort is worth far more than a few glances or comments! To make sure I always have a pair to wear I have since bought four pair! I do wear one pair for everyday and a good/ new pair for those more formal affairs! When I was first trying to decide if I should buy them, the other reviews helped convince me! I highly recommend these shoes!

Bought for hiking. They are light, comfy and have great traction even on wet, steep and rocky trails. So comfortable I often wear for walking and even to work. Thrilled!

I ordered these boots as a more comfortable work boot option. Im always on my feet climbing around dirt and in and out of ditches all day. These shoes are very comfortable and take the fatigue of being on your feet all day out of the equation. Mostly waterproof although standing in water for long periods of time they start to leak and only offer waterproof"ness" up to the mid ankle line. I have a large volume foot and although i would love for them to be wider they broke in and don't cause any narrow shoe discomforts. I suggest ordering a half size larger than their standard running shoes to accommodate for larger socks. I have been wearing them for 40+ hours a week and would say they take a lot of abuse and they have been holding up great!!! This came as a huge surprise to me since i figured my line of work would have worn then out quickly. Only problems i have had were a couple small tread blocks releasing from the sole but i just glues them back on and good as new. Would highly suggest these for anyone looking for a super plush comfortable all day ride with ample grip and trust"ability" on the trail

I purchased the Oxford Tan colorway from a retail store and they are the most comfortable boot I have ever worn. The tan color is amazing and I can't figure out why Hoka One One would discontinue the Oxford Tan and Black colorway. For a newer company that is gaining momentum, it doesn't make sense to discontinue the 2 most popular colors. I mostly wear them for fashion purposes because they are so different from the normal combat boot styles that are dominating the fashion scene today. The only downfall is that they run a little small, but I will have to live with it since it took me weeks of searching to find the boot in this color. Overall a good buy and awesome product.
