As others found, these are stiff to start, but loosen up quickly. They are sturdy, and the leather is not thin, so these are great in cold weather. I'm an 8, and the 8 fits perfectly.

I've been wearing these for about a month now and love them! FRYE's are investment boots, and are SO worth it in my opinion. Took me a day to break them in and they didn't even give me blisters. The calf runs a little snug but after breaking them in, I have a little more room. Perfect for leggings, skinny jeans, and sweater dresses. Classic boots that I will have for years to come, love, love, love them!!!!

I love love love this style. The side zipper and slightly higher on the outside of the knee soo works for me! I think I need another color

My boots arrived today and I just love them. I bought the black with the dark brown. All I can say is that these boots are absolutely gorgeous.

These boots are EXACTLY what I was looking for! I wanted something different (usually wear black), but I could find the right shade of brown. These are perfect! Classic riding boot.

These are gorgeous boots! I got the "dark grey smooth vintage," which could also be labeled as "taupe." They look like brown boots, basically, without any red in the brown, meaning they're on the blue edge of the "brown" spectrum. They'll go with your taupe sweaters perfectly and look somewhat brown against your grey sweaters, which isn't a bad thing because taupe and grey work well together as similarly "medium" tones. I probably would wear my black boots with brighter, typically spring colors like cobalt blue. I'm 5'8.5" tall and 135 pounds, and these come to directly below my knee and look great with skinny jeans tucked in, dresses, and skirts. The one thing I'm hesitant about: underneath my Gap bootcut jeans, the boots stick out, so wearing the jeans over the boots is a no-go. Maybe other jean brands are wider at the opening, and maybe these will loosen up with wear. Maybe wearing your boots under your jeans isn't your style, anyway. To be clear: the silhouette of the boots is slim (but not skin-tight). Honestly, it seems like the perfect shaft width to go over your pants without a battle but still look polished with skirts. This is my first pair of Frye boots after almost 10 years of admiring them. I'm glad I took the plunge!

I've been lusting after Frye boots for years. Finally ordered a pair and fell in love with the smell of leather as I opened the box. Problem is that I ordered a large size based on reviews that they run small. They are too big. The first I wore them I thought the size wasn't too bad. Second time I wore socks. Not much better and now I can't return them so I have make them work. Took off 1 Star because one piece the fabric part of the zipper at the very top of shaft scratches my skin. There's no way to fix that. Just hope it softens over time.

I usually wear a 7.5 or 8. I initially ordered the 7.5 when I tried them on they were way too small everywhere. In ordered the 8 and it's still a bit tight in the calves, but I love them, so I'll be keeping these!
