I haven't had a chance to wear in winter yet, but I love the way the jacket fits and feels. Very light and the color is nice, seems well made. Will update in winter

This coat was an easy purchase online, it seemed to be enough "warmth", however you can never tell the rating based on the description. I thought I would give it a shot.
While I did end up returning in the end, this coat is for "active" winter sports, i.e. snowboarding, etc. as the description states. It's not going to keep you warm just standing around. You have to keep moving or hope the omni-heat does the remaining.
I ended up trying an XL vs the XXL I originally ordered. Once I had it on, there was a large gap below, so I felt it ran slightly large.

I like that Columbia has jackets in tall sizes. But this one runs just a bit too tight in shoulders and top arms. But the XXL is too large.

Ok for wearing around town, but not great for the mountain. Lacking pit zips and significant waterproofing. I don't expect a lower end winter jacket to hold up to rain, but in 31F falling snow, this jacket was soaked through. As for pit zips, they seem like an inexpensive and standard addition to any ski jacket to help you stay comfortable.

I like the jacket, but my arms are always cold, my trunk stays nice and comfy, but unless I'm wearing long sleeves my arms are always cold, if the temp drops to low teens even with long sleeves my arms get cold.

I bought this a couple of months ago and I am very unimpressed with the stitch quality. Very poor stitch quality. The threads at the cuffs are already coming undone. My Helly Hanson that I have had for over 20 years hasn't even done this. Columbia isn't what it used to be for quality. Other than that the jacket is ok.

Nice jacket, but far from warm enough to be considered a winter jacket in any northern climate. Live in Iowa with medium severity winters and at 35F your good for about 5-10 minutes before your arms get cool while moving. Sufficient for walking from your vehicle into a building, but not for spending any significant time outside. The reflective dots are just a marketing gimmic - they don't do much.

I purchased this coat as a replacement for a 28 year old Nevica ski coat. While I like the design of the coat and appreciate the ample number of pockets, it is not even close to warm enough for me. This is especially surprising considering it has Omniheat. In my trials of the coat going outside in 20 degree weather, I was getting cold after being outside for just a few minutes, especially in the shoulders, arms, and lower waist. In comparison, I can be outside for well over 30 minutes in my Nevica coat without getting cold.
Unfortunately, I will be returning this coat.

Jacket runs large. Company won't process my return despite repeated contacts.
