2 years in on my Camosun, overall I like the jacket but some of the details have frustrated me like no other Arc Teryx Product I own.
I use the jacket for UK winters including trips to Snowdonia and the Lakes in Winter, also for work in the winter months, the jacket is my go to winter garment when coming off the hills and wanting to warm up or in the towns of a cold evening.
The Good
Great fit, very stylish and works well with wearing it to work meetings, easily a smarter option than CG type jackets. Also works very well in Winter months for general walking and being in the country, the branding is also very discrete and subtle.
The insulation is well thought out and the jacket, although very light, keeps any weather out that is thrown at it, I only need a base under this jacket at below freezing temperatures. It is probably a little too warm for the UK weather, anything over 9-10 deg C and you can get very warm, not a bad thing really. I have never had a problem with sweat saturating the down.
The Bad
The hood is terrible, it has started to fray which is worrying enough but the fit is such that the peak rides down over my eyeline, I end up tightening the top adjuster to pull the hood back but that lifts the whole jacket onto the adjuster so it just slides down again.
The poppers attaching the hood are also dreadful, if you grab the coat by the hood it will come off in your hand, highly annoying. They have also come apart when I have been trying to adjust the hood which then lets rain or snow in.
The front zip is very good (A two way would be nice though!) but one of the side pocket zips came apart in a snowstorm when trying to pull it up with gloves on saturating the pocket. Its an easy fix but things like that shouldn't fail just when you need them to work!
Overall I love the jacket but feel let down by the details, especially the hood, I think making it helmet compatible has compromised the normal fit or it needs better adjustment.

I bought this coat last month and although I live in Manhattan - I travel to central Minnesota six or seven times a year and often its in the winter. On Christmas I woke up Central MN (Pine City) and it was -21 with a windchill on -32. I had to go outside a couple of times and my core and everything the coat covered - was warm!!!.
I agree the hood is big but it does adjust quickly, I've never been a fan of hoods in general and that's the beauty of this coat, as I simply removed the hood and my plan is to snap it back on only if it's snowing/sleeting. I just zip my coat up (covers my chin) and I wear a heavy wool hat. I not sure what the fuss is about lack of pockets. I put my wallet in my left pocket, cell phone and glasses in my breast (inner pocket) and keys in my right pocket and plenty of room for more stuff..
I tried to find something wrong with this coat but I really can't. Here in Manhattan, Canada Goose is routinely seen but there is no way I'd trade my coat for a CG - as in my mind, this coat is much more fitted and stylish than the CG and doesn't have that ridulous fur hood (that's non removable)
Lastly - I am back home in Manhattan and went on an hour walk today in the park (it was 18 degrees) and only wore a cotton long sleeve shirt underneath it and I was warm with no hint of a chill...I wouldn't trade this coat for any other coat and highly recommend it and I love that this coat is waterproof!!!

This was my first Arcteryx product and I absolutely love it. It is the best jacket / parka, I have owned yet. After this purchase, the first brand I look for when shopping is Arcteryx. I have had it for 2 years and still looks new.
It's warm and protects you from the wind. The sleeves are a bit shorter for my size, but it's okay. It really is an urban style - you could possibly go skating or skiing, but there are others which are more suitable. I like the very clean look, and I wear this almost everywhere in winter - meetings, dates, snow shoveling(with a mid layer in case it gets too hot).
It does not have adjustable wrists but the elastic band inside keeps it snug and actually feels better than adjustable wrist straps, same with the back.
Someone complained that the hood is too big - it is actually very big - can fit a helmet, but it is also highly adjustable, you can shrink it from the sides and the back to the point of wrapping it around the contours of your head.
The side pocket zippers are hidden to maintain the clean look and has nice depth to fit large phones and wallet or gloves, however the main zipper is exposed and feels too prominent and takes a bit away from the extremely clean look.
The inside pocket zipper sometimes gets stuck with the lining so you have to open and close it slowly.
Overall, just a great purchase and highly recommended.

I can't believe the negative comments here. I had to speak up to honour this amazing coat. This jacket is state of the art urban engineering. Gore Tex waterproofing, silky soft pockets, premium 750 euro goose down. Strong and watertight YKK zipper. If you don't know what any of that means than learn to read and scroll down this webpage. The Camosun has kept me warm through bitter cold, sleet snow, artic wind, freezing rain and just good old Canadian weather.

A very impressive parka - light enough for day to day urban wear, warm enough for extreme conditions. Stylish too. I commented that it wasn't cheap but as with so much in life quality comes at a price and this certainly represents value when compared with similar parkas from competitors.

The Good:
- Very warm for the slim profile.
- I can attest that you will stay dry in moderate rain and snow at a minimum. Wind is hit or miss...
The bad:
- Unless you are wearing a helmet in this "urban style" parka, it might block some rain if there is zero wind that day. It won't do much else for you.
- The bottom of the coat is not well-fitted and there are no draw strings. Moderate winds can and will blow directly up the back/bottom of your coat.
I underestimated how bad the hood is from other reviews. It's so large/tall (and I have a very large head), it will blow off or let in cold air. Since this is supposed to be an urban style parka, I would rather see a non-helmet hood or include both styles since the hood is removable and the coat isn't exactly cheap. I have to imagine the buyers of this style are mostly not wearing a helmet.
It's also close to unacceptable to me how much wind the bottom/rear of the coat will let in under moderate wind. Again, since this is supposed to be more of a coat for urban environments, it shouldn't be assumed I'm going to have a tight/cinched mid-layer in my opinion.

Great jacket in nearly all ways except the fact that it flairs out at the bottom giving it a less than masculine look.

I would have rated this jacket a 5 star except for the fact that it does not have a two way zipper. A jacket this long needs this.

Great parka. I'm 5'8 145lbs and the small was too fitted on me, I couldn't wear a hoodie underneath. Had to get a M which gave me enough room to layer. This parka is extremely warm and would work for -25C weather. However I melted wearing it indoors for any more than 5 minutes. You really don't need to layer with this it's that warm. I initially got a S but the chest, arms and armholes were way too tight. Got an M and it's great.

I bought this parka for my husband based on a article I read comparing and reviewing winter parkas. This article reviewed jackets from all the major brands and this jacket came out as the top choice in the review. I am happy to say that it has lived up to my and his expectations. The jacket has city styling and is fitted to give a nice shape. It has been warm during a polar vortex with temperatures dropping into the -21 C (-30 and colder with windchill) daytime temperatures.
The jacket fabric doesn't look as durable as the snowboard and mountaineering jackets. Time will test how durable it is.

Just got it yesterday and worn it twice, will share my initial impression and update later on.
Things I liked:
- It's light. Like you wouldn't believe how light. In terms of weight, not warmth.
- The color is dark rich blue, I'd call it dark navy, but I'm a guy, thus a very limited range of color names.
- Seams on the outer shell are virtually non-existent. So thin that with a lighting in my apartment I couldn't even spot them at first and had to look closely to find them.
- Zipper feels heavy and reliable as well as the entire zipping area. The flap on the inside is tough and rigid, the way you want it. Everyone is crazy about YKK and I was nervous my jacket wouldn't have it, but I can see now I didn't have to worry.
- Outer pockets are perfect size for the sleeve to go in and there is almost no gap left, so your hands are completely sealed off. You can see it was designed with this in mind.
Things I didn't like:
- Hood design is ridiculous. It is literally designed like a box of near cubic shape and there is no point to all that extra room, no head is shaped like this or sized like this.
- Hood adjustments. The back puller barely works and sucks itself back in. I might have a faulty fixer-holder thingy, idk. I got the hang of the side pullers and they do improve the shape and size of the hood, but it still does not look nearly as need as a casual jacket requires. And relaxing side pullers takes more time and effort than I would like.
- Inside pocket zipper slider is ver small. I have to pinch it with the tips of my fingers to pull it and I have extremely normal size hands. Having a piece of garment like on the front zipper or just a bigger slider would help.
Things I didn't expect:
- It does make a noize, but since the jacket is so light thats the only thing that reminds you you are wearing it at all.
- The neck is much wider than I expected. I've read a lot of reviews saying it's too tight. It's not and you really need a scarf or a gater to fill the space. In terms of width I can easily lower my head up to my nose into the neck.
- The neck doesn't make a noise or gets stuck against the chin, but that might be due to Movember providing and additional layer.

I have this parker now for two years, no down side to Report. The price is a bit heavy but when you wear it in Winter through the city it keeps you very very warm. I wear it to work with a short sleeve shirt underneath and I don't fell cold at all. I don't think that I need another Parker for years to come.

Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
6'4" 180 lbs, size Medium fits great as the coat is pretty long in the sleeves and body by design.
Pros
-Looks great
-Feels great
-Very warm (living in Seattle, it might be slightly too warm actually)
-Waterproof
Cons
-Wish it had one more internal pocket
-With it had a drawstring at the bottom of the coat, tends to poof out a bit though it's hardly noticeable
-Very, very expensive. Probably not worth the price if I'm honest, you could find a similar GoreTex coat for at least a couple hundred $$ less in another brand.

Truely outstanding! GTX Hardshell outside, down insulation inside who can ask for more?
This is an amazing garment to face the worse weather conditions.
It's lightweigh, waterproof, quite compactable, durable and on top of all it looks good no matter the way you're dressed. Smart, it matches (black or dark shades and hood removed obviously); casual, it matches as well! Even worn on outerwear it will look good.
Once again Act'eryx made a hit.

This parka is great. It is not only warm but when wearing it, you feel the quality and how durable it is.
It's minimalistic design fits right in the urban environment for which it was made and the fact, that the hood can be removed is definitely a plus! In regards to the pockets, I think it is ok, though having one more inside pocket would hurt.
The only "issue" I have is the back drawstring for adjusting the hood. I make tight but every time I move my head it loosens up. I hope this isn't by design?!
All in all however, this parka is really good and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a warm, minimalist styled parka for the winter.
PS: the color admiral is gorgeous.

I love this jacket. Its so warm & comfortable. It looks great! Its exactly the coat I was looking for. The pockets are fantastic. You dont even need to wear gloves most of the time. They are deep and super warm. I only really need gloves when the temp drops below -10c. The jacket itself is so warm I normally only wear a t-shirt underneath & only needed a sweater when it was -20c or lower.
I'm not a big fan of the hood, it fits a little big for my liking but you can remove it! So I have taken it off. I'd only ever put it back on if I knew I was going into weather with rain or snow.
The jacket does fit a little big, I would recommend trying it on first (which I do with all my Arc purchases, everything fits different I find). Im 5'8" 170lbs & always wear a medium. I had to get the small. I still have enough room to wear a sweater or hoodie underneath if necessary.
I would love a 2 way zipper on this (which other reviewers have asked for) and maybe also a flap on the front that cover the zipper like the womens Patera has.
Overall though, I cant speak highly enough of this jacket. I love it, it looks great & the down / coreloft / goretex combo really sets this jacket apart from others.

So far it has served me well for about a week as colder weather has set in. A good merino base-layer would work well. Tight on neck when zipped up if wearing scarf, knotted ties, etc.I agree with others that an exterior breast zippered pocket is not asking too much. Some have groused about the lack of a 2 way zipper in the front....meh, I've often found those zippers to be a pain in the butt to start/line up anyway. the front pockets are pretty deep. I think a tougher material lining the pockets would be a good idea as I've balked at putting keys in there for fear of eventually putting a hole in them.

This is truly the best jacket I have owned. Others will complain about the number of pockets and the after-thought hood, but really you don't need more than one-inside pocket and two front side pockets and the hood (combined with a toque) is more than adequate (especially considering it's removable). It's sleek, under-assuming, quiet styling is greatly appreciated in a market where fur-lined hoods and large badges are common place. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is cross-shopping with Canada Goose.
I am 5'10", 145 lbs, and the small fits perfectly. I recommend trying this on (or other Arcteryx products) to get the size right.
