I looked long and hard for the best down parka out there, and tried on several before choosing the Camosun Parka. I use it for everyday-wear in a cold city, and this parka is really warm, and also has a great cut and style. I loved it so much, that I bought one for my son too, and he loves it as well!

I bought the Camosun from an on line retailer (Trekinn) 2 weeks ago and came on time and in perfect condition. The problem is with the fitting of the garment and the rather confusing description of Arcteryx. The wording is such that one can easily misinterpret it and construe that the fit is slim. Well, people let me tell you, this parka is NOT slim fit. It runs true to size if not slightly large. What I'm suspecting that Arcteryx meant to communicate is that one, when purchasing a Camosun parka, should try it first and make sure that the jacket is close to the body (body-forming?), otherwise one will not be able to take full advantage of its warming capability. The problem is that as I bought it from an on line retailer who subsequently did not have one size smaller, I'm stuck with a good jacket that is rather big on me. When I contacted Arcteryx, they responded promptly, but refused to give me that extra service that would not have cost them a penny (I offered to pay the 2-way shipping cost). Of course they are not obliged to do such a thing as I had bought the jacket from an independent retailer, but it would have been a good and responsible service as the reason for me buying one size larger was their confusing description. The other issue of Camosun is that it is a bit noisy. What I mean is that the outer fabric tends to produce noise when moving. It's not that bad and may be it will fade away with time. Otherwise it is stylish and warm (OK not enough for Arctic temperatures, but adequate for most other conditions).

Got this on Black Friday sale. After 2 months of wear, found the following: - The actual jacket is bulkier than the one on the model. The material felt very stiff and makes funny sound when walking. - Good and clean design, good with causal and outdoor activities. - THE BIGGEST complaint I have is the material around the neck area which traps a lot of dirt and sweat. It gets dark and dirty VERY easily like a few wear after normal daily activities. I think by not putting the GoreTex on the upper inside of the neck part will fix the problem. If otherwise, please tell me how to prevent it. - After zipped up, it leaves a big gap around the neck area which lose a lot of heat. If Arcteryx fixes these, it will be an amazing jacket.

I researched this jacket a lot and tried it on at the store and it seemed to fit at the time. However the more I wore it the more I realized the sleeves are way to long. I am 165cm tall and I picked out the smallest size they have a XS and even that was too big. Also only after the second day of wearing the jacket the down insulation is coming out through inside lining, I was totally shocked by this because I has just bought it. I feel like I just want my money back and cannot recommend these products to a friend!! With these defects occuring only after using for two days I feel like I was ripped-off!!!!

I've had this jacket for a little over a week now, here are some of my thoughts so far. Jacket is warm, looks great and very functional. Runs slightly larger than other Arc'teryx products of the same size. Hood is great and do not see the snaps being any sort of issue like so many reviews have stated. The one negative I do agree on is the pockets, they are a little small and more importantly they are not very warm, it would have been nice to see them go on the inside of the insulation to keep the hands warm instead of just inside the shell. No double zip is fine, no issues when getting in and out of car. Only addition I would like to see would have been a mesh drop pocket on the inside.

Like every Arcteryx product, it works in the beginning then as it's out of warranty it starts to have problems with something. In this case, after 2 years the zipper was unusable any-longer. Considered the high-price paid you would expect a definitely better quality of the product and its robustness. Wasted money. I own four products from Artercyx bought over the years, each one of them had an issue after warranty expired. Will not buy anymore. But I want to warn potential customers to consider how they spend their money.

Fantastic, lightweight, warm, wind and waterproof jacket. Sizes run large. I'm 5'8" and almost opted for the small, but on a whim from other reviews, took a chance with the extra small. Turns out that was right on the mark. The extra small is almost too big, but fits fine. I have enough space for bottom layers but am not swimming in the jacket without them. Do not recommend jacket for anyone shorter than 5'8".

We're hitting 0C / 32F in Zurich, Switzerland. I just got the Camo, and went to the office without wearing any additional layer under my Camo. No pullover, no fleece, just my shirt. Unbelievable what this parka can do.

I really like this coat. Warm, wind and waterproof for those cold and wet days. The hard shell fabric is a bit stiff but it does its job. Don't know if it will soften over time or if this is simply a characteristic of the GoreTex fabric used. The sleeves are long enough and the cut is not restrictive so movement is easy. I'm 6'5 & 195 lbs and wear a 17.5" 36" shirt or a 44/46 long jacket. The XL provides a trim an comfortable fit with enough room for a base layer and a light sweatshirt or quarter zip.

After an early blast of the polar vortex in Minnesota, I decided to get a more windproof down jacket to walk the dogs in the morning. I typically take them out for a 2 mile walk, and a walk on the Prairie and the wind can really be cutting and cold. The jacket arrived and I put it on and took it on a walk immediately noticing how much more comfortable I was. Very little wind leakage, trim fit but reallyFits nicely and does not look like I'm walking around in a sleeping bag.

No double zipper, crinkly jacket is the deal breaker. Otherwise fit, specs all seem to work. So can't buy it...

I was really excited and loved this kinds of parka when I got this Camosun parka but I have to say I got a poor one because of quality (the following images). Also I did not find any information about this product when I checked UPC online for this one, thus causing I can't distinguish whether this product is counterfeit or not. Additionally, I found many fingerprints on black Arc'teryx brand likely not new one. Anyway, I really doubt whether this item is counterfeit or not and worried about quality of this one even though I like Arc'teryx products due to great quality before. Thank you!

The Camosun is the best jacket I ever owned. It is very warm in the Dutch winters. It has a removable capuchon. When it's removed you get a clean look. I used the jacket now 4 years and I can use it the upcoming years. The con is that the buttons of the capuchon sometimes go open, but this is a minor issue. Furthermore the cuffs by your hands are comfortable. What can be improved is to add a pocket at the breast that is on the outside. Now when you want to reach the inner pocket, you have to open the main zip, which is sometimes uncomfortable when it is raining/snowing. I am 1,90 meter tall, 84kgs and XL fits good.

Highly recommend this jacket. It works great in the wintertime in Boston and protects against the wind. The only complaint is that the hood is attached via snaps, and frequently gets pulled off. It is a perfect lifestyle jacket for the city and commuting, but with the guarantee that you will stay warm. Lightweight for traveling too!

Great trendy jacket. Keeps you warm. It's a bit too perfect of a fit. I'm 5'8 and 175 lbs. it's tight if I wear a sweatshirt/hoodie. Other than that I don't need to wear something so bulky since it keeps me warm.
