Absolute junk, cheap rubbish. In the photo you can see the white “film” or whatever it is. This happens 5 minutes after you start walking in the shoes....no matter what kind of leather treatment or cleaning you put on it this continues to happen. Shows the cheap rubbish leather & tanning process. These shoes should be in the $25 price range, not the $100 range. I’ll remember this and avoid Columbia products like the plague.

These Columbia Peakfreeks are very comfortable and waterproof. No break in needed. Just remember they run a bit narrow. If you fill your normal width shoe order EE instead.

Needed a waterproof shoe for an upcoming vacation. I have really wide feet and this was perfect. Comfortable and light

Great shoes. Bought them for a trip through Turkey, Greece, and France. Walked at least 10 miles everyday, mostly on pavement. Shoes felt loose on my feet but never had a problem with tired or sore feet. One problem: they take extra effort to lace up to get the shoe tight in the front of my foot and not too tight around my ankle. It is possible to get a good fit with a bit of extra effort. Do not recommend if you need to take your shoes on and off many times in a day. Have worn my pair almost daily for the past 2 years. Ordering a new pair for an upcoming trip to South America.

These are very comfortable and surprisingly light. I use them most for walking but have worked well in slushy conditions and in rain.

It might help to know up front that I am a woman who usually wears women's 8.5 Wide, but in the past I've purchased men's 6.5 or 7 Wide. I have been looking for a sturdy walking/hiking shoe for traveling that is comfortable, lightweight, and waterproof--and doesn't look like a bulky hiking boot. I tried these in a 7 Wide after several women's Wide were not wide enough. The Peakfreaks are nice looking and very comfortable with a sturdy sole, and look more like a shoe (and are therefore more versatile than a hiking shoe), but the men's Wide were not as wide as I needed, and they felt a half size longer than I wanted. After a few hours, the pressure across the ball of my foot felt uncomfortable. Perhaps because they were slightly too long, the ball of my foot didn't fit in the widest part of these shoes? Anyway, I liked them and wish they would've worked. The search goes on.

The shoes feel a little narrow. It may just be that the height of the shoe tapers down toward the pinky toes. If this is a concern for you I would recommend a shoe stretcher.

I like the shoes but after wearing it just for a day it has started losing black color and started exposing white shoe material. Is there anything I am doing wrong? I didn't wear it in a rainy day or anything. Wore it in office for 8 hours and it started losing black color.
Please reply on how I can fix this. I do not expect such quality from $100 shoes. If there is no reply then unfortunately I will have to return these shoes.

These shoes are great! I use them for city walking and trails - good traction, good support, accurate sizing (important for an online purchase) and WATERPROOF to boot! I will recommend these to all my friends and buy another pair when these wear out.

I love these shoes so much I bought an extra pair to have once these get worn out.
They are very comfortable I use them for travel and work. I get lots of complements on the look of the shoes.

Very comfortable shoe, not as heavy as a work boot but more durable than a sneaker and water proof.

Ordered 6 pairs of waterproof light hikers (some called trail runners) for my son, for an upcoming trip to England, where we can be assured of wet weather at least some of the trip. He kept this pair. It fit TTS, seems to be a quality leather, and had adequate room in the toe box but did not slip on his heel, as most of the other shoes did. He would have possibly kept the Adidas Terrex Skychaser instead (it's a lighter weight WP cloth) but they squeaked too much.

It's not very colorful, it's not overly designed, it's low profile, whick is what I like. Very comfortable for hiking, walking.

Comfortable, low cut waterproof boot. This PeakFreak shoe is lightweight and has excellent arch support and cushioning. This is a perfect shoe to wear during those hot and humid, rainy summer days.

Since my son wears size 17, we always have to order shoes for him. I was delighted to find this quality leather shoe in his size, and at such a great price. This will be a great shoe for him while he lives in a rainy climate in Japan, since the shoes are waterproof.

I like them. I wear a 9.5 in other Columbia shoes but needed a 10 in these. I wear lots of hiking style boots/shoes for work and I have found Columbia to be the most durable and as comfortable as more expensive shoes.

A really nice shoe, comfortable out of the box. Works well in rainy NE springtime weather, otherwise known as "Mud" season!! Even a good choice with some leftovers of winter occasional snow flurries. And enough style for any situation or gathering!

Great shoe. It is waterproof, however, little wet spots appeared on my socks after walking under rain.

wasn't expecting a lot. wasn't even sure that I liked the color. but the price was right, and I needed some water resistant/proof shoes for work. when they arrived, I really liked the color. quite neutral, so they go with pretty much everything. they were quite comfortable and stylish! so much so that I haven't worn them for work yet! I'm wearing them as my main-go-to everyday shoe!!! thanx for such a good product! will let you know how they fair once I decide to wear them to work! (if I decide to wear them to work!)

Great comfortable shoe! Upon receiving the shoe, I was very impressed with the quality and comfort and stability. I have been out in it a few times in the rain and slushy weather and my toes have been kept nice and warm. I would say the shoe size seems to run a little bit small but nothing that really impacts the wearability of the shoe. Sometimes wearing a thick wool sock impacts how snug the fit is but I have also found that wearing a simple athletic sock keeps my feet sufficiently warm :-) I would highly recommend The product!
