I like the coat, stylish and light, but I have an issue with the hood. The hood to me is not deep enough despite the faux fur making it seem like its deep. The pockets aren't deep enough and when the parks is zipped all the way up, it bunches up at the neck.
The length of the parka is perfect and the grey color is nice and sutle. It's a nice parka, I just have some minor issues with it.

Jacket is very warm and attractive but fabric is stiff. When zipped to neck, it feels uncomfortably tight and stiff. Hood was unusuable because snap fastners were defective.

This coat was fine when I first bought it but I hav noticed that as of now the feather are starting to escape from the interior. This shows that the coat was poorly crafted so keep in mind that if you want a lifetime coat this is not it. It is more so a 2 winter season maximum coat until you start to see the wear. Keep in mind the warranty is not your LIFETIME is is the lifetime of the product as mentioned my North face so they can set their product lifetime to any amount of time they want and you will have to repurchase something if it is not in their time frame.

Love the jacket. Nice and simple. It just runs a bit small. One size to the other isn't a big difference.

Like the coat, but was disappointed in the color. It is does not have the sheen or emerald brillance that the green has - is more like a pine. Might return because my disappointment is that great. Only got the coat because of the color.

It’s a really nice coat. I purchased it in off season for the price. The only thing that really bothers me is that it has a slight body odor smell, the zipper looks a little worn in spots and that tag was crumbled up but still attached. Which makes me think that it was worn and then returned. I’ll probably end up keeping it anyway because it was a really good price and seems like a really good coat. It’s very comfortable and the fit is flattering. I find that some TNF coats are a little tight around the shoulders but this one fits true to size. The sleeves are nice and long too. The coat it’s self is nice and long but not too long. It rests just above my knees. I like that it can be worn dressy or casual. So really the only reason why I’m giving it 3 stars is the fact that it seems like it was obviously used then returned.

Tried out this coat. It feels warm and overall would make a great winter coat. However, the fit looked very bulky. With the extended length coat, the bulk extended to the mid thigh, and was not as slimming. I know the down tends to add some bulk, but the shape of the coat didn't help.
Otherwise, the arms and hood had a great fit. Some hoods are too big/limp and this one fits perfectly. The shade of red is great for casual/business use.

Bought this one two weeks ago and returned it today, the down was getting out and I basically looked like a chicken every time I wore dark clothes. It's not my first down coat, I know down can get out, but I've never seen that much out.
The parka looks great and the fit is perfect, but it was not for me !

I am 5'4 and 130lbs and I got a small because that is what the sizing chart recommended. It was a very tight fit, especially when something was layered underneath. I could not move because of that. It's a great jacket overall but it does not fit true to size.

I love that this coat is so warm BUT the feathers come out onto my clothes. It sucks that when I get to work I have to inspect my clothing for feathers, especially for the price of the coat. My son also recently purchase a NF down jacket, and he has the same problem. What's the deal? I am considering taking the coat back.

It seems like a very warm jacket however the fit is a little big. Especially the hood - it seems to swallow you. Maybe a different style would be better for me. I just want something for when I return home for visits during the cold months.

This coat felt really comfortable, but it did not look as good as I'd hoped. In the picture it looked like there was a waistband detail that might help with the shape but it was kind of boxy and not that flattering. The double zipper was not a feature I think I would use, so I think the extra time needed to zip up every time I put it on would get old over time. The pockets are comfortable once you get your hands in (the lining is nice) but you have to scrape them against the zippers first. Mostly though, the hood is the WORST. It is not even a tiny bit attractive. It's like an oversized black pipe cleaner arched over your head. I took off the fur to see if that would help, and then it just looks awkwardly too small.
It's a shame, because the coat feels expensive, super comfortable, and I bet it would be warm. I just wanted it to look good too.

This coat was very very small. I could not even get closed to zip it. It was beautiful to look at, I wish I could've worn it to test it. Runs very small. I would recommend it for somebody who's very skinny. But definitely order up.

I ordered this coat in a M and was so excited to try it on today. Everything was great about the material and look - I love the matte black color and overall silhouette. However, I am about 5'81/2" and about 150 lbs. I have a lean athletic build with broad shoulders. When I zipped the coat up, I know there would be a problem -- the waist was about 3 inches too small, with no drawcord or anything to control it. So unfortunately, because of one area, the coat has to go back Its too bad! I have a Miss Metro coat in M and it is so comfy I could be in it 24/7...I wish the cut on this was a bit more aligned to the overall proportion. If i go up to an L I would be swimming in it. I suppose this coat is good for folks with absolutely no flab on the waist.

I recently purchased this coat for an every-day cold weather coat for commuting by train in Boston. I'm new to cold weather so maybe this is a feature of all coats and I need to just get used to it, but the neck is so uncomfortable on this coat. It fits really high and is very stiff. The hood also fits very wide, which still lets lots of wind and cold in even if its snapped all the way. I really like the cuffs of the coat, and it is quite warm on the body and arms.
For the price, it's overall a rather disappointing coat and I think there are probably better options for a similar amount or just a bit more.

This was my birthday gift. I got a size L based on their measurements and it was too tight around the arms and waist. I called North face and they said this coat runs tight. So I wish I ordered a XL. Went to order a XL and they were out of stock. I'm sad.

Unfortunately I am petite and the jacket does not work for me. It does not fit correctly in the shoulder/arm area but it is a nice land warm looking jacket.

It was just ok. The black fur on the black coat gave it an old ladyish look. It fit weird. It is tight in the arms and shoulders. Would be hard to wear a sweater with this coat. Didn’t feel warm enough for New England winters. I think this is meant for wearing from your house to your car, not for serious outdoor use.

Beautiful coat overall. However, the sleeves are really short.
For everyone who says it comes up small, i have to say it doesn't. The size is typical for a North Face item and maybe everyone else is comparing it to their general idea of what M is.
However the sizing is indeed odd:
The sleeves are too short (i am 6 foot tall and the cuffs hang above y wrists even when standing normally, when i lift my arm it reaches 10cm away from the elbow. i think they would be too short for everyone over 5,7)
The seam lines do not go over the shoulder line, thus constricting movement as it adds roundness to the shoulder area.
The bottom area is A line so it does bulk up beneath the torso and leaves room between legs and parka
I have multiple M north face jackets and this one has just as much room around the torso as the others
Faux fur is not the best, but definitely not cheap as some have stated
Its not a heavy jacket considering its down + a 2l membrane and lining
Pockets are nice and even though they are not insulated the material is sturdy and lined
The hood isn't deep but even without the fur on it
It's really a beautiful jaccket if you are a tad more average in hight.

I get lots of complements on how nice it looks. However, this coat is not warm at all. I feel the wind pass through the coat as if I'm wearing a windbreaker not a parka. I have an old TNF black bubble parka 600 that was so warm I had to take it off immediately after coming indoors. I swear by that coat.
I tried on a medium in a TNF store and the hips were tight as I have wider hips but small waist and bust. I opted for large which fit in the hips but is so big on top. This coat is designed for someone with a more straight or boyish figure. I will say the size estimator where you put in your measurements (height, weight, bust etc) is very accurate as it recommended I buy a Large.
Coat is cute but not warm enough for a typical Chicago temperature. Anything below 25F degrees you will be cold in this coat.

I love this coat! its exactly what I wanted. My only issue was my hips. I went to the store in 72nd street, the medium fit my chest area but my hips were a little tight. So I had to get a large but you can tell it fits me big. I dont know what to do, I want to exchange it but don't want to look like I'm trying to fit into it.
