This is a high-quality product and very warm. Lovely color. However, I do not like to look like a shapeless marshmallow. I was that vain little girl who would keep her jacket open in winter to look more stylish. Unfortunately, I have not progressed much since then and would rather look svelte than be warm :/

I bought this coat because I bought the same one a few years ago and love it. This one is not the same quality but it was the same price. The coat is thinner and feels cheap, the fur on the hood is also thinner and is not the same high quality as my other one. So sad when I like a product and the company changes it. It's still a good coat just not what I expected from The North Face.

A decent parka for a ridiculous price. It looks great on and has some nice features. However, the hood is not adjustable, the sleeves are very long, and the coat overall is not as warm as my previous North Face parka purchased 10 years ago.

For reference: 5'8 127 lbs. bought a S I bought this coat to replace the version from 5 or 6 years ago (with the belt) That coat fit great. This coat bulges on the top half of where the waist cinches. In other words theres a ton of extra fabric in the upper back.. really the entire back. This coat is not as warm as my original version which is very disappointing because Im always cold and have a need to be outdoors no matter the weather. The fur around the hood is junky with wire in it that needs to be readjusted every so often. Im keeping the coat because I need it and am overwhelmed doing the research for a better product BUT will not purchase this brand parka for myself in the future.

I had an older model of this parka, purchased 10+ years ago. It was bulkier but also much warmer. I never once felt cold in the old one (Ottawa winters), but the new one just isn't as warm. Disappointing. Otherwise, this coat is of great quality and very comfortable.

This is a cute coat butit just wasn't right for me. I'm 5'5", 145 lb. and ordered a medium. It was just too big and it felt like the coat was wearing me instead of the other way around. I probably would have fit the small just fine, but I ended up returning it and going with another style instead.

So close. Such a beautiful coat; great color, sleek fit, nice pockets, waterproof, warm. BUT, for some unknown reason NF neglected to add hood adjustments so had to return. Women want stylish and functional clothing!

I took this coat to Iceland. It definitely kept me warm and dry but for being a brand known for functional, sleek design there were a few things from a functionality point I was disappointed in: The pockets, they're so very tiny to the point where even the tiniest gloves show a bulge (which is not sleek). There are 0 inner pockets. The elastic keeping the fur snapped in position slides off. Overall it's really stiff to move around in. I made a quick purchase since I trusted the brand but I definitely should have shopped around more.

Loved it but I returned it because of the zipper. It was not going to last very long for the price I paid for the rest of the coat.

I really like this coat. It's the 3rd Arctic Parka I have owned. This one is longer than my last one, but I don't mind. This one seems lighter weight and not as bulky as my last one so I hope it keeps me just as warm in the bitter winter. The only thing that I am super annoyed about is that the hood is NOT adjustable. When the wind blows -30 below I like to tighten the hood to stay warm, but there is no way to do that. The hood just poofs out around my face and the wind whips right through to my face, ears, and neck. It's not a huge concern, but to me it is a deal breaker. If I had known I couldn't tighten the hood I would have purchased something else.

I just purchased this coat and have not actually worn it yet, so I can't speak about its level of warmth. However, I am disappointed, because the description says, "fully adjustable hood." The hood does not adjust at all, and it is a little bit loose, so I think the wind will get in. The only thing that you can change is to remove the faux fur. I am also disappointed because the description says, " internal elasticized cuffs with thumb holes." There is barely any elastic, and the cuff is loose fitting, so again I think this will be an issue when it is windy. I hope that The North Face will revise the wording in the description of this parka.

I purchased this jacket last year and returned it because it had Velcro rather than snaps. I was so excited to see this year they had the jacket without Velcro, but it has seemingly also lost its warmth. It is not nearly as warm as the one I had returned last year. I also sized up and this one was much bigger than I remembered and could have went with the size I previously purchased without any issues.

This is definitely the warmest coat I've ever owned, but like another reviewer said, it's not meant for shorter women. I'm 5'2" and it goes well past my knees. My other complaint is the Velcro. I've ruined several sweaters from the Velcro getting stuck to them as I've put it on or taken it off.

I have an older black arctic parka w 2 chest zipper pockets & 2 HAND WARMER pockets. Had the coat for yrs, loved it, but it's worn out, zipper broke, stains from my own heavy use. Been trying to find a replacement but I won't buy one unless it has the 2 zipper pockets on the chest (good for keys or pills) and most importantly the hand warmer pockets, which were the best thing about the coat, brilliantly places at the most comfortable position to keep ones hands & body warm. Please bring these back.

Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
This jacket is very warm. I was wearing it on a cold and very windy day. It is wind proof. If not for Velcro I would like it. Velcro makes it so uncomfortable, that I don’t think I’ll wear it second time. It is also a bit stiff, hard to move in it.

Definitely felt warm, had a good weight to it. Like other reviewers have said, the gray turns purple in sunlight (not a desired look). Sized okay. The pockets felt a little cold (no insulation between the hand and the outside of the jacket. But mainly the issue was the fabric just screamed "i'm going to pick up every piece of lint and every stray cat hair in your home!" in a way that would drive me batty.

I've had this for about a month now and it snags on all of my Lululemon clothes. I'm not happy about it. They used to have buttons on the same code that they made years ago that one's got holes in the armpits so now it doesn't work for me anymore so I replace it with an upgraded version of the same coat. This coat snags on everything because they replaced all the snap buttons with Velcro buttons. Very frustrating as all my expensive clothes are getting ruined. go back to using buttons!

I was so excited to see this on sale but was so disappointed when I received it and tried it out. It's very stiff and everything sticks to the outside of the jacket! The velcro is a terrible idea - it catches on everything! I'm sad to say that I will be returning.

This parka keeps me warm and that says a lot. Unfortunately, the fur keeps coming off whenever I try to place it on my head. Without the fur, it doesn't cover the whole upper part of my head. I wish instead of clips, the hood was zippered. And, I wish it had draw string loops to tighten the front of the hood. No inside pockets, but the outer pockets are deep. Only 2 pockets on this parka. I would have loved at least one inner pocket as well. It does keep the wind at bay. BTW, usually nothing can keep me warm. This parka absolutely does.

Im more or less happy with the jacket. It's lacking chest pocket that are really convenient for winter. The faux fur is not looking really nice either. Overall the jacket is a great fit and you don't look too big in it. I really appreciate the fact that it's long enough and you feel comfy in it. Went on discount 2 days after I bought it though....

So warm but runs big. However, major problem is that the velcro destroys scarves and sweaters! So many snags, pulls...the coat is great but be ready to replace all your knitted goods!
