I tried at least three other coats before settling on this one. The length is great for the cold weather. It's a warm coat. It may run a little bit small. I'm usually a Small/Medium and the Medium fits just right. The only downside is the lack of extra pockets. Also the zipper on the pockets that hurt my hand when I put them in. Other than that - I'm okay with it.

This coat looks tailored and classy. It does not have the "wet Michelon tire", thank goodness! My daughter loves the length, warmth, and look for running errands in the cold and damp New Hampshire winter (she doesn't have a car at school) and crossing campus. We all agree that this isn't designed for playing in the snow; so it is limited in how/when to wear it.

Coat is very warm but the fit runs small. I ordered XL but it is still snug.

Great jacket. I purchased it as my first true winter coat. More about functionality and less about style. Would recommend.

The coat is lighter than I thought it would be, it is very warm and flattering. Although I wish the bottom was tighter (or longer) because cold air can enter easily. I am 5ft 4in and 123 lb., ordered it in a medium size but I exchanged it for a small.

This is a stylish, high quality and warm coat, good length and fit, ture to size and just the right weight. It is good for cold and windy days. The only issue is the fur on the hood, it is undetachable, you have to remove the whole hood.

I bought this coat to wear in Chicago and am very satisfied overall. There are no upper (breast) pockets or interior pockets, very common in women's outerwear. I expected more from North Face. Two way zipper is a must with knee length coat but the zipper pulls are different making a quick zip impossible. It must be fiddled a bit.

I am a college student at a big school and I use this coat for warmth and wind protection when I am walking across campus. The jacket fits nicely with just enough room to add a layer underneath, I am just under 5'8 and weigh 132 lbs. Its extremely fashionable AND warm, I'm usually sweating as soon as I enter a building. The only complaint I would have is that when i zip it up all the way it doesn't cover my face like it seems like it is supposed to, it just jams into the bottom of my neck/chin and its not comfortable, this was a little disappointing because I was looking forward to it shielding my face from cold/wind. That is the only reason I gave it 4 starts instead of 5, and that could just be happening bc my head or neck is shaped weird. (lol) I would recommend this coat for someone who needs a reliable winter coat.

Doesn't feel very heavy, but is exceptionally warm.

Took a chance buying this online as I live outside of US, where return would be difficult if I didn't like it. I was nervous at first but glad to receive the piece in good condition and exactly as described on the website.

I purchased a Large thinking it would be a little bigger so I can wear thick sweaters underneath. However, it was too large and had to return it for a medium. The medium is pretty snug since it has a tailored waist. Ideally, I would like there to be a size in between medium and large - for this reason I gave it a 4 star. Otherwise, looks great. For reference I am 5'4 and 140 lbs.

The XL fits a little too snug for my taste, so I returned it and I'm currently waiting for my refund but, in the meantime I reordered and received the next size up XXL. I absolutely love the coat very stylish. I haven't worn it out as yet but I'll come back with an updated review soon.

Nice lines, flattering for a down coat. Runs a bit small through the shoulders, so I went up a size. Lightweight but warm. Love it!

Great for cold winter days. Keeps warm and does not restrict movements. Only down side is the elastic waist - would have been better if it came with drawstrings to tighten/loosen the cinched waist look.

I bought this coat for a winter trip to Ireland and England. I've been reading up on the weather there and it says windy, rain, and little sun are to be expected so I really wanted a coat that could withstand just about anything and thats when i came upon this gem. It's an awesome coat. It feels so cozy and comfortable but stylish too, it is large and chunky but TNF made the coat in such a way that it doesn' take away from having a decent fit and overall stylish design. For reference I'm 5'2 and 130lbs i bought the taupe in medium and it's slightly large which i prefer to layer with but if you're concerned about wanting room to layer, the coat itself it so well made to keep you warm that one sweater with the coat would be suffice I think depending on how cold the weather is I suppose but just keep in mind that the coat itself is made to keep you warm and comfortable. I gave it 4 stars because there are a few things about design that i find a little strange but thats just me being nitpicky. Overall awesome coat, worth every penny!

I haven't yet tested it out, but I just wanted to say that the green one is NOT like the bright green in the photo. It's actually a more muted hunter green. I was disappointed. Here's hoping it keeps me warm regardless.

I love this jacket - it just ran too big. I am returning it for a smaller size and hope it will fit better. I used the sizing recommendation on the north face site to choose my size and it was a bit off - so I would recommend sizing down regardless of what it tells you. I am 5'4 and 125 pounds for reference and the small was way way way way too big. But overall great product!

This is a great coat! I compared it to TNF outer boroughs parka & I find the latter to be more substantial, however I wore this coat in 30 degree temps (with significant wind) & not one part of me that was covered by the coat felt cold. I wonder how it would fare in colder temps. Too bad it's April, otherwise I'd know. Pluses to this coat: it's lighter than the outer boroughs parka it has not yet leaked feathers! this is big for me. I don't fancy brushing feathers off my sweaters. the length is great for me (I am just a smidge under 5'4"). looks flattering. comfy pocks INSIDE POCKET (my dad always touts that this is the hallmark of a decent coat) minuses: not sure it should go on the minuses list, but I'm not sure it's as warm as the outer borough parka. I've only worn the coat once, so I may (if possible) revise my review later.

I use this jacket because I travel to much to different states where the weather is cold!!

I researched so many jackets based on reviews/price/quality- this coat had all three things going for it. The thing that bothered me the most about the jacket I had before this one was the feathers that would constantly shed and be attached to everything I was wearing. This coat doesn't do that but there were a few feathers that I noticed on me. Other than that so warm and comfortable! Needs some breaking in tho like any coat when you first get it!

Love this coat once I get into it. I just received this two days ago however, having a hard time zipping up the coat. I live in New England with very cold temperatures and disappointed that I can't get the zipper to close. I am an excellent seamtress, so I am very capable in working and repairing zippers, however, this is proving to be difficult. I do love all the other features of this coat and like the taupe shade very much.

Fits well. Very warm. Would like the bottom half to fit a little more slim but overall a great coat
