Bought this for our upcoming trip to Swiss Alps. I am 5'4", 130. Originally I ordered a Medium, as recommended by the sizing guide on TNF. The medium fit well in the body, but the arms/ shoulders were so large and puffy I didn't feel it was flattering enough (for a winter coat lol). I ordered the small and it fits well, a tiny bit tight if I wear a big sweater underneath but I am happy the fit up top is better. It's super good looking parka and great price!

I exchanged it for the eggplant. Decided white would get dirty to fast.

I bought this jacket for my daughter. She likes it very much. It keeps her warm even in those single digit temperature days. It looks stylish, too. It does run small. I bought the xs. She's a slim 13 year old, however, it just fits her. I believe I might need to buy her an s by the time she's 16.

I love this coat. It is very warm. Living in Maine, my previous coat was an almost-ankle-length down jacket that was shapeless but did the job well. I wanted to get one that would be just as warm but give a little bit of shape to me, and this coat did that. I don't really miss the extra-long length of my other jacket - yet.

This is my 4th Winter with The Arctic Parka and it is by far the best and warmest parka I have ever owned. Living in Chicago it is important to have a warm, stylish coat that will protect against the cold temperatures, snow, and wind. Unfortunately, a couple months into the season this year, a tear formed in the lining. This caused some of the down filling to come out of the coat, which gets all over everything I wear. After contacting the warranty department and visiting a store, I was told I would have to send the coat to California for review and repair, and be without my coat for 6-8 weeks. This is not very practical in the middle of a Chicago Winter. The North Face's biggest competitor (hint: starts with a P) has a no-questions-asked warranty policy and replaces items on the spot. In the future, I will think twice before making a purchase from The North Face.

An almost perfect coat! The warmth and style are great. I am always cold, but this coat keeps me really warm in windy and wet weather! My only complaints would be that the neck is too tall (when zipped all the way up, the collar digs into my chin and is terribly uncomfortable) and the arms are too tight. I was excited to see they offered an extra small, but the arms were so tight that I had to size up to a small. Overall though, I would recommend this coat!

This was an XMas gift from my boyfriend. Let me say the packaging and wrapping was phenomenal, made it more exciting to open! Neatly packaged and wrapped, included a gift note from my bf. I wish the North Face logo was on the front of the coat instead of the back, that was my only request/concern. Nice war, sleeves, and its not too long. I wear dresses a lot because I work in a corporate office so it definitely fits and its not too long. I'm 5'3 and 130 lbs I received a medium. I live in Michigan, so you can just imagine how COLD it is up here!

I have broad shoulders and I guess a shorter than average neck. I would have gotten a small, howeve it was too tight in the shoulders, so it's not as snug as I would have liked. If I zip all the way up, it is uncomfortable for my neck, which does not go above it TNF needs to keep women in mind that have shorter necks and broad shoulders, that's why I gave it 4 stars.

My hair has lots of volume to it since it's curly so the hat is too small, I would add an inch or two to the front. My face is exposed about 75% of the time. Also...it's a tad bit small in the arm pit/chest area. Other than that, it's a great parka, I love it!!!

I needed a jacket for cold Minnesota and so far it has been working really well. I wanted one that was wind and water proof and this on is! It has been warm out on the trial and in the city. The only issue I had with it was the second time I tried to wear it and the zipper got stuck. The zipper seems to be working correctly now since I haven't got stuck in the jacket since then.

The coat is very practical while still being decent looking. The insulation is good quality (though I haven't tested it out in extreme weather yet), the material is sturdy, and it fits well. I like that the hood and fur lining are removable so that you can customize the jacket to wear as you want. The only thing I dislike so far is that it's a little stiff, especially in the sleeves and shoulders, but I'm hoping that will loosen up as it gets worn. I do like the fit in spite of that because, as a petite woman, it's often difficult to impossible to find clothes that fit as they should. Overall, I feel like I got my money's worth and I'm looking forward to testing whether this "Arctic parka" lives up to its name when I go to Norway.

Great coat! The sleeves a little long on me, but I guess that'll just keep my hands warmer in the frigid NYC winters!

I liked this jacket enough but when it arrived I ended up exchanging it in store for the Women's Far North Waterproof parka and I'm so happy I did! There's are a few features the Far North has that this one doesn't - adjustable hood, chin strap cover, and thumb holes. I also liked the fit of the Far North better, it's more feminine in my opinion than this one (this parka has more of a bell shape. I'm 5'5" and usually wear a size 2 in jackets and the small fit great. Overall, their both great hackers but I would recommend the Far North for the extra $50!

I was disappointed. It wasn’t really a super warm coat. It was very narrow in the shoulders. I usually wear a medium in The North Face but ordered this in a large so I’d be comfortable wearing a sweater underneath and sitting on the train. It was too tight for that. I didn’t think it seemed warm either.

Recently moved from west coast to east coast and bought this parka to blunt the shock of my first east coast winter. I'm 5 feet 95 lbs and ordered an extra small at first but it didn't zip over my chest so I exchanged it for a small. The small is pretty big on me and the collar of the jacket frequently stabs the underside of my chin if I don't wear a scarf with it. The zippers have also gotten super stuck a few times and I've had to fight them down. It's warm and thick though, so it does the job I wanted it to. Just expected a little better for how expensive these things are.

Would have given a 5 except for sizing. Thank goodness I went to outlet and was able to try them on. I had to get two sizes larger to be comfortable and be able to wear a sweatshirt or sweater under. Also outlet store had a sale and was able to get it for 40% LESS!! YAYY!

Jacket is warm and comfortable. Great for all those wet, below 40 days we have north of Seattle. It is a heavy jacket, but is only intended for the coldest days and definitely does the job. Has deep pockets that keep things dry and warm and is long enough (mid-thigh) to keep butt nice and warm.

I ended up buying this jacket for $179 at a North Face outlet store. Really happy with the purchase. Im 6'1 and 160 lb. I bought a large which is actually a bit too big but I needed the large for the arm length! even so I thought it was such a good deal I picked it up anyway. Its really warm and I think it looks great. It has really deep pockets which is great. I wouldn't recommend this jacket for any snow sports but it is perfect for an everyday parka! :)

Great fitting coat - just need a scarf and you are completely covered. Little tight in the neck area as it hits my chin but I just keep it slightly unzipped!
