This jacket was strangely not proportional - the sleeves are long enough for me (usually sleeves are too short for me) and the torso was so short it barely covered me, even though I ordered a size up. It also was very stiff and uncomfortable material. I ended up returning it.

I have to agree with many of the other posts. To stiff, sleeves awkward, noisy. If looking to replace your old jacket don't get this one as it's not the same

It feels like the sizing was a mens xxl So big on top through shoulders and Bust. Waist and hips were really small. Bummer.

I have an Osito jacket that I love, but I was looking for something water resistant with a more form-fitting shape, so I chose this one. Online it said that this jacket had an "athletic fit", which I took to mean it was at least somewhat flexible/stretchy. Absolutely not. The material is weird and the best thing I can compare it to is a stiff burlap type of material. It made my skin crawl to touch it. It feels like something you would use for the cloth material on hiking boots. I felt like I was wearing a jacket filled with cardboard sheets. I think it would take me a year to break it in to be comfortable. I'm a shorter person, so the neck part was very stiff and stabbing me in the throat, no matter how much I adjusted it, as I tried to like it. Maybe if I were taller I would like it more... I don't know.

I would use this coat outdoors for hiking and also for casual wear

I thought I would love this jacket. HOWEVER, the outer jacket material felt stiff and not movable. The sleeves are ridiculously long. I'm 5'4" and the sleeves covered my hands. Unbelievably I read a review from someone who is 5'9" and she said the same. I really wanted to love this jacket but returned it instead.

I've had several of these jackets over the past 15 yrs in both SM women's and XS men's and loved the fit and features so much that I wore them out. But I hate the new curvy fit of this model! The older models had a straight fit that I could fit a t-shirt and vest or sweater under (for re. I'm 5'2", 115#). This new curvy fit barely accommodates a regular weight t-shirt and feels snug. The only thing I can wear under and feel ok is a tissue t-shirt, which means its fashionable but NOT functional for real outdoor use in cool to cold temps. I love it for wearing to the office over thin layers but that's not what I bought it for. I went ahead and bought the XS men's hoping to cure the issue...it has the straight fit but is missing the internal fleece cuff that the women's has and the men's used to have. Please bring back the straight fit for women & the internal cuff for the men!!

Returning as the sleeves are way too long - about 6 inches. Because of how the cuff is, it would be really difficult to shorten.

The style of this new Apex is terrible! The fabric is very very stiff and makes it hard to move. The fit is also very different and does not allow for much movement. I was hoping for some improvements over the old version, but they seem to have only made it worse. I have enjoyed my old Apex so much I thought I'd get a new one in a new color, but sadly, this is going back.

First got the medium cause that's the size of my other North face jacket (which didn't fit) so I got the next size up and it was too big. Very soft and very warm so was hoping it would work cause I really wanted it. Just yoo big and very bulky

I was really looking forward to this jacket. Tried the medium first and I could barely zip it up even tho it fit very well in the shoulders and arms. Sent it back and tried the large next. The only good about the large is that I could zip it. The large was very uncomfortable. If it was just a little more flexible the medium would have been fine. I was really disappointed

I bought both a medium and a large in this jacket because I wasn't sure what size I needed. When I got them and tried them on I was disappointed to find that when I zipped the medium it was too tight. Yet the sleeves were way too long. So I expected the large to fit. However when putting the large on and zipped it it was huge and the sleeves were ridiculously long. Unfortunately I had to return both of them as neither of them fit. Also the collar even when the jackets are unzipped stuck straight up it would not lay down. I had had an apex bionic jacket before and I still have it and loved it so I was very disappointed in this "updated" jacket.

I use this jacket for walking to class and such. I had an old model with the north face logo sewn in, and I liked how that looked better. This logo makes it look very cheap. Please bring the old one back.

After years my favorite jacket finally started to wear out. I decided it was time to order another apex bionic jacket but was very disappointed when it arrived. They have updated it to be longer which would be ok but they made the waist so narrow that it fits only a light weight shirt under it and just barely at that. Forget a sweater. I'm not a large person 5' and 120 pounds but the medium fits me like the small used to. North Face I get the wanting to look good on but it still needs to be particle to wear.

I wanted a nice looking jacket for this fall and ordered this one in purple. It was a beautiful color but that was the only thing I liked. First the website was messed up and I ended up ordering two jackets becuase it told me my first order was not processed due to an error. Second the size was way off. I used the "find your size" button and ordered what the website sugested (and yes I put in my correct height and weight). The website said it was a new fit, well TFN you need to update the size chart to fit the new fit.

A very nice looking jacket but unfortunately I had to return it. I am 5'2 and weigh 129 lbs. and it was a lot too slim for me. It is definitely made a taller slimmer person.

I was a TNF rep in the 80's and still have my heavy fleece I ordered new fleece but didn't like it. It felt like nylon. I am on a cruise to Alaska and so glad I had my old wonderful fleece

Runs small, arms too long and it's very rigid. Feels so stiff. Too bad I took it overseas otherwise I will returned.

Let me say I have already returned this jacket! I already own a North Face apex jacket that I love and wear all the time. It is so soft and flexible and comfortable. The one I love is black but the gray one was the worst! It was so stiff and uncomfortable but I ordered a new one in black and it's still somewhat stiff but not as bad! I really wish I knew why these jackets can be so completely different even the new black one I ordered and kept!
