I use this as my main jacket for chilly, but not cold, weather. I also use it as a layer while cross-country skiing and occasionally while jogging. Good quality material, fits its purpose well, but not as stylish as I would hope. The upper arms seem extremely baggy, and the collar doesn't like to lie flat.

Really liked the coat and am a huge fan of NorthFace, this time around was not too happy with the fit. Typically I wear a small, this time the small was tight in the chest when it was fully zipped so I would have to leave it unzipped to wear comfortably.

I had originally purchased this jacket for myself. I had been shopping for a red jacket. Unfortunately even though the picture shows red and the color description says Rose Red, it is actually pink. I was very disappointed by the color. I am not a pink person at all. I actually was able to sell it to a friend so it all worked out in the end. But i am still withoutmy red jacket.

Got an XXL for my mom for Christmas which is her size. Jacket was way too tight. Sizes must run a bit small.

The inside is very soft and I often find myself trying not to sleep in it everyday.

I like the jacket, but I don't love it. The color is great and wonderfully vibrant, it's totally windproof and the interior is super soft and feels good with just a short-sleeved t-shirt on. The problem is the sleeves. Not only are they too narrow to layer anything more than the thinnest fleece with, but they seem to be set for someone whose arms face the other way. With my arms at my sides there's a crease where the sleeve folds. Weird. I'm keeping it anyway because I like it, but I wish it was better designed.

I like the lightweight jacket. It keeps me warm. The collar does not lay flat and is twisted. It sticks up and rubs on my cheek. I am going to exchange it.

Runs smaller than expected. The size guide was very inaccurate based on provided measurements. Very thin, not as warm as i thought.

I tried on a XL in Dick's Sporting Goods. It was a little snug and I was concerned about being able to wear a sweater or sweats under it in the winter. I ordered the jacket on line in a XXL and it was too big for my liking. It is a fit cut jacket. Im deciding if I should keep the too big jacket or return it and get the very snug fit

The jacket is pretty but who is your fit model? She must have really long arms and a very narrow waist. I ordered the large and it fit in the waist but the arms hung way down past my hands and the collar was on my face. Returned it for the medium and the sleeves are still too long and the waist is very tight. Strange fit. Pretty jacket.

This jacket runs a little small and the collar is a little annoying at times. I would recommend this jacket for runners instead of for everyday wear/running around town. It's nice and warm but again the collar can get a little annoying and rub against your neck.

I bought an Apex jacket several years ago. I have LOVED it. But it is showing its age, so I wanted to purchase another Apex jacket. Of course, The North Face had to change things up. I find the new version a bit tighter around the waist/ hips. More of concern - The jacket is longer (by about 1 inch) and the sleeves are about 1.5 longer as well! Just so bummed.

I got his as a replacement for my 9 year old APEX jacket. The color of the logo is not the same as pictured on the photo, it is actually an iron on, and the cut is not the same as my old jacket. Feels like a box. The smell of an impregnation coating was way too much. Sadly I had to return and I am going back to my 9 year old jacket.

I was eager to receive this jacket! Even before opening the bag, the smell of a strong perfume was present. When I opened the bag, it was even more overwhelming and the jacket smells even though I let it air out. The jacket is new, so I do not understand the over the top smell. My old jacket did not smell like this ever. The other thing is that the logo is not embroidered like on my old APEX jacket - it is ironed on and almost invisible as it is the same color, and there is no WINDSTOP logo on the left bottom sleeve like on the picture or my coworker's jacket. I checked for the authenticity label and it was there but the jacket does not look like the one on the picture, or my coworker's APEX jacket. I have very mixed feelings and probably return this one. And yes, as others say, it is very stiff, stiffer than the old version, but the fit is good for me.

Nope. I was expecting some type of comfort and movability with this jacket, but it would have been the equivalent of just holding up cardboard to the wind. If that is your only purpose, there are these things called windbreakers that I definitely recommend More Than This. Very restrictive, does not scratch or move with you so if intended for a winter coat, you will not be able to wear thicker garments or layers as opposed to the other styles. Which is too bad because the redeeming quality of this is the windproof ability. Just wish it had some give and comfort built-in. It is not made to be effective if you size up, unless you want to go around wearing a stiff box all day

I purchased the teal colored bionic jacket. The outer material was very stiff and had no stretch like my previously purchased black jacket.

I work outdoors. We have a jacket in our cadre of uniform items call the Apex. With layers, I've used it to shield myself from wind, rain, and snow in subzero temps. I've had it for 4 years now. It's seen tons of everyday use from fall through spring, and it's still kickin. I've longed to have one that I can wear outside of work. When I found out TNF had a line called Apex that looked just like my work jacket, I was thrilled! I bought this Apex Bionic jacket thinking it would be my work jacket without the logo, but it wasn't the same. My Apex work jacket isn't stiff and has a bendable, stretchy quality that I really appreciate. This Apex Bionic jacket was incredibly stiff and boxy by comparison. When I reached out in front of me, it would not flex around my shoulders. I could feel resistance in the fabric when I bent my elbows. I liked the fit otherwise, and LOVED the blue color, so it was sad to send it back. What happened, TNF? Why no stretch?
I do have the Shelbe Raschel hoodie from TNF, which is awesome. It's got the same stretchy qualities as my work jacket, is windproof, and water resistant. It's everything I get from my old Apex work jacket, but it's too plush on the inside to wear in fall and spring, especially when exercising outside. I wish I could get the Shelbe Raschel with the lighter microfleece lining of the Apex. *wink wink, TNF*

Like many other reviewers mention, the jacket feels very stiff. This was my first north face purchase, was a disappointed because I thought the jacket would be soft. I bought it because I also saw several good reviews, but it was not what I expected.
