Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)

I really wanted to like this and hoped I would based on the other reviews. As others have said, it's super light but I trust it would be warm as I've had light jackets like this before that are toasty warm.
What I didn't love was the color and the fit. The purple color was bright and vibrant, but the inside lining, zip pull and brand lettering were a sea foam color, which I normally love, but in this case just didn't match the purple. The fabric was also a little too shiny for my taste.
I'm 136lbs and 5'7 and I ordered small. I wasn't planning on layering a lot as I live in a warm climate, and it never gets really cold here. Everything seemed out of proportion - sleeves were too loose, the body length was slightly short- another inch or too need to stop exposed back when I bend- and although it fit nicely through the torso, it was a little snug at the bottom. Maybe a medium would have worked better, but then the body would have been loose. This one has been retuned and now I'm back to my search for the perfect jacket...

I love the warmth and lightness of this jacket, but I did not like the vintage white color. It just looked dingy so I returned it. I also did not like the fit around the upper arms, very baggy.

The jacket was way too big. I used the size estimator and it was not very accurate.

Liked the jacket slit but fit wasn't right. In between a large and x-large according to the fit guide. X large was just bulking under the arms. So it's going back.

I wanted a warm jacket that was not as puffy as my down jacket. Based on the description, I thought this would keep me warm. Unfortunately, the jacket does not provide the level of warmth needed in cold weather. I usually wear a fleece pullover underneath to keep me warm.

The coat is great. Lightweight and warm. I have not worn it in wet weather yet, so I don't know if it is waterproof. So far, I only have two issues with the coat: 1) It is very roomy, and 2) The hood is purely utilitarian.
From the picture, it looks like the coat might be more fitted, but it is not. I can easily wear bulky layers underneath, like a tank top, a loose, chunk-knit, long-sleeved turtleneck over that, and then a baggy sweatshirt. I almost feel like I have to layer because otherwise there is too much air between the coat and my body, which may result in less warmth. I have also purchased the Thermoball without the hood from the brick-and-mortar store, and the fit of that one is much sleeker and closer to the body, which is nice when I don't want to wear layers.
The hood is utilitarian, which essentially means that it works very well for warmth and shielding from the wind-but it is not very attractive lol. When on and fully zipped, the hood wraps snug around the head, covering the forehead and the neck right under the chin--which isn't really an issue if used for warmth, but just beware that you will look like a seal ;-P
Overall, it is a good winter jacket. Exceedingly lightweight and surprisingly warm for 30-40 degree, midwest winters:)

I purchased the GARNET PURPLE GALACTIC PRINT via online shopping. Upon opening my package, my thought was the fabric had been hit with bleach. I truly cannot decide if it is a cool feature or if it looks like someone made a huge mistake. For the price, I expected something better. As far as warmth and functionality - exactly what I expected. It fits the bill for weather that is not subzero, yet darn cold.

I bought this jacket with the hopes that I could get by this winter without having to wear the bulky parka. Luckily, this Chicago winter has not been too bad, but I still find myself feeling chilly (and sometimes outright freezing) while wearing this jacket. The description says the Thermoball technology is supposed to provide warmth comparable to "600 fill goose down." I definitely do not believe this, and have not experienced that kind of warmth from this jacket. I find that the best way to wear this is with an added sweater for more warmth. For the price, I don't feel this jacket is at all worth it. I wish I could say differently.

I use this occasionally when it's not too cold outside. However the colour on the website is deceiving for the jacket I bought. The jacket colour isn't exactly the same what was shown on the website.

I like be its lightweight but by me being a tall girl I would've appreciated longer sleeves. I had to get a bigger size coat because of the sleeves

Not impressed, especially given all the laudatory comments I see here. Don't feel it's very warm. Not as warm as it should be given that TNF claims it's equivalent to 600 count down filling. I live in Michigan and this coat won't cut it in our winters.

I absolutely loved this jacket...until I had to wash it. I'm an on the go mom that throws this on and off to chase both kids and a new dog around. After washing once (specifically following the instructions!) the Primaloft clumped together and molded itself into little balls in each patch of the coat. My TNF down doesn't do this and I'm extremely dissatisfied. I now feel like I'm wearing a jacket full of little cotton marbles and it just looks cheap. If you're going to buy this coat, don't ever plan on putting it through a wash cycle.

I received this as a gift last year. I was so excited and then extremely disappointed. It's amazingly lightweight and easy to move around in, which i love. However, if you're a more slender woman you really need to layer and layer and layer with this coat. It is not a simple throw on over what you're wearing to keep you warm. I tried my best to love it, yet it's been sitting in my trunk since the middle of last winter because it just couldn't keep me warm. I love North Face and support the brand but this coat wasn't worth the money.
