I strongly recommend checking the thicknes of this before you buy it. Extremely lightweight which is nice. Keeps me toasty in the crazy New England weather.

Beautiful jacket, got many complements on it.. it's different, not like the usual north face gear I see everyone else wearing. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because it's a little thinner than expected. But other than that it was well worth the money

Please use logic when purchasing this so you don't fall victim to advertising persuasion. This is a very thin jacket. Even though it is ridiculously warm considering how light it is, it's not that much warmer or different than layering a rain jacket over a sweater. I see people with these on now in the middle of December, and I know they must be freezing their butts off, and unable to spend money a real winter coat because they invested over $200 in this one. I bought this looking for a lighter jacket for the fall. The main problem I've come across is that I'm either overheating in it at about 50 degrees F or freezing at 40 degrees F and below. It's not a big deal for short walks from the car to the store, but I'm a student who has to walk long distances across a desolate windy campus. I'm not saying don't get it because I like this coat very much. I think it's pretty and easily packable for hiking trips. However, think about what level of warmth you will need and don't buy into what they are saying about it being as warm as a coat.

Jacket is very nice. I chose the color blue grey and it is more purple grey, but it is very warm. I will be seeing how warm it really is when I am standing out on the ski hill watching my daughter ski race in the next couple of months. It is very fashionable, warm and comfortable so far.

I bought my husband a Thermoball Hoodie for xmas last year and have been jealously eyeing it all year. He (wisely) bought me one for my birthday this year. I love it. Light weight. Beautiful color (I got greystone). Super warm and comfy. Only suggestion is that you order up. I'm consistently between sizes (M / L). I tried the Medium (because my North Face fleeces are all M) and it was super snug. Traded it in for the Large and it's fantastic. I can fit a lightweight fleece under it.

Overall, In my opinion its a very nice jacket. However, it is not as warm as a down, but warmer than a leather, wool, poly-filled jacket. I get a lot of compliments on the jacket too! I think if you wanted it for skiing or working outdoors in the snow you would need to wear layers for it to be extra warm. It runs smaller than the regular 3/4 coats, especially around the hip and waist. I purchased in a size large but it was too big so I returned it for a medium. I believe its design to react to body heat because when I am in the car it can be too warm. Nevertheless, I brought it, and I am keeping it.

I bought this in an XS because all of my coats from TNF are size XS, however, it is tiny. Returned it for a size SMALL and will hopefully receive it soon!

The ThermoBall zip up jacket is a great idea to use for a shell or just an all-purpose jacket. Very versatile and compacts incredibly for storage. Be careful with sizing, the wrists and waist fit snug because of the elastic. A great product, but I wish there were less vibrant colors in the women's version. I appreciated the colors of the men's Thermoball jackets a lot more. Earth tones!

I bought the women's thermoball jacket in two colors - coastline blue and dandelion yellow. Both colors looked lovely online, and as a Steelers fan, I was particularly happy to find the yellow one. When I pulled them out of the box, I noticed that you could see the color of the lining from the outside around the stitching, where there was no insulation to block the inside color. This wasn't very noticeable with the blue jacket - its acid green lining appears as a very faint luminescence around the stitching. But the grey lining of the yellow jacket made it look filthy at the seams. It was not something I could overlook in a $200 jacket. I went to a nearby TNF store, and was able to look at a few other colors in person. The silver-colored jacket (I think it's called High Rise Grey) has a white lining, and the light mint-colored jacket had a color-matched lining. I don't know why TNF didn't take one or the other of these approaches with the yellow jacket. If they had, I would have kept it. But the blue one is lovely and super-stylish, and I love it! :)

My wife loved the look of this jacket and ordered the pink w/ grey lining. Jacket came and fits great, and seems to be very warm, but the pink shell material is so thin that the grey lining shows through on every "puffball" cross-hatch stitching--ie; the entire jacket looks pink with 'dirty' pink crosshatching, not good.

I really love this jacket. It is as warm as they say. I bought the borealis blue and the color is as shown. I get a lot of complements. I bought mine with the hood. The hood and sleeves are fitted and keep the wind out. It washes up really nice. Doesn't take up a lot of room in my luggage while traveling. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the material. With in a month of buying it, the sleeve cuffs pilled up and I have several snags on the sleeves. It really looked worn. I hadn't worn it for any outdoor activities, just running around, shopping, traveling. I almost returned it because of this, but decided I loved everything else about it. I hope next year the material will be a bit better.

Love it! Super packable. Nicely, gently fitted. I can layer it under my ski jacket if necessary. I haven't washed it yet, but I presume it will be much easier to wash/dry than my down filled NF. One thing that I'm not happy about- I'm getting 'pilling' of the fill material on the surface of the coat from seatbelt wear and from using a backpack for travel. I hope this doesn't affect the lifespan of the product. Love this product so far and bought 4 for family members at Chrismas. The pilling of fill material is the only drawback-never had this with my down filled NF.

I like my coat but it is more blue and less green as pictured. On the website and even your email that you sent to me the jacket truly is green. My jacket is more blue. Could they have made a mistake?

Very lightweight and warm at the same time. The best thing I like, being tall is the sleeves are nice and long and the fit is great!

This jacket is very light and compressible. I usually purchase Down insulation pieces, and although this is not as warm it is almost as light, and packs really small too! I did a water test and compared it to untreated down and it worked very well, keeping most of its loft and still keeping me warm after being dunked in a bucket of water.

I really like the color! I think it could be a little wider around the stomach. I am not a large person, but I had to get a large! What would big women get. I lam also not sure that it is as warm as they said.

Very lightweight, can fit a fleece or hoodie sweatshirt under it for colder temps. Was looking for something lighter than my down TNF 500 jacket and this is a good fit. Ordered the XL for arm length and it's plenty long, as I like it (I'm 6'1"). The high rise grey looks a little "space-agey" metallic, but I can live with it.
