I bought this because I needed a substantial winter coat that also doesn't contain wool or down (I'm vegan). I'm very happy with the purchase. It's pricey but the quality will last several years so it's a worthy investment. The coats is quite warm and waterproof. I live in Los Angeles and travel to colder areas so the Triclimate option works well. It's kind of a waste to get one huge coat to use a couple of times but since I can make lighter coats out of this from LA (it can get chilly and rainy here at night in the winter). My job requires me to be outside and I used this last week in Colorado temps in the 30s and I was kept quite warm. Additionally, I have a triclimate that's a few year old that I mainly more of a rain coat. I had lost the inner shell and despite this new coat being a smaller size, I was still able to zip it in. I normally size up to accommodate layers but I feel that North Face already considered this. This Medium is slightly on the larger size so order your typical size. I had no issues with layering underneath. My only suggestion would be that the order shell have more pockets - maybe a smaller one at the zip for phones or interior ones to store hats, scarves and gloves. One thing to note - it makes a noisy swishy sound but that is normal for this type of fabric. My job requires a level of quietness and on occasion I had to sit still so my jacket wound't make too much noise.

Love it! Warm enough for bitter cold Upper-Michigan winters, and it looks great too! I would definitely recommend buying one size larger than usual though. It runs small.

Bought this coat for my daughter to wear around going from class to class on a college campus. So far it has been very warm during a cold snap. She is 5'6" and about 125 lbs., slim build but we ordered a medium instead of her usual small to accommodate a sweater underneath. She is very happy with the size and coat. I got this on sale her for about 100 off. Keep any eye for the sake if you can!

This jacket is a winner. Fit is perfect in XL. If this helps I am 5'6" and have a 41" bust. The jacket is very warm and comfortable. The style is slimming. I love the blue color. The jacket is a little crunchy when you move from the waterproofing and the sleeves are a little on the long side. Not a deal breaker. I have many of this type jacket and this one is by far the best. I love this Jacket!

So far so good. I ordered a large since The North Face coats usually run small in the shoulders and sleeves for me. It fits very well and I really like the color. It will be very warm for cold winter days.

I was disappointed when I tried this jacket and ended up returning it. I am 5'4" and the sleeves are way too long, the material is very stiff and very noisy. The collar is high and due to being so stiff, very rough on my neck and chin. The syle was nice and it was warm, just hated the fabric. I have long arms for my size, but the sleeve lengh was crazy long and again because of the stiff fabric, too hard to push the sleeves up or fold in. Totally hated the stiff outer fabric!

I loved this jacket, but after a month of light, end of autumn use it is already looking worn. The velcro tabs on the left side of the shell's zipper stick to the cuff of the fleece liner jacket when I pull the jacket on, and rub against the shell's arm if the jacket is not zipped. It rubs against the arm whenever I turn the steering wheel when driving, and I can't stop worrying that I am doing more damage. The left arm of the shell is fuzzy from the pulled fibers and the left cuff of the liner jacket is fraying. I really like the fit of the jacket and it is very comfortable, but for the price I am disappointed that it is going to look ragged by the end of the first season.

Bought jacket for daughter who is a size 0 and 110lbs. The XS was too small and "cutting"into her arm pits. Jacket returned. Consider sizing up.

I wish NF had xxl.

My husband bought this for me as a gift and his research really payed off. I would never have worked so hard to find just the right coat for myself. The fit is most relevant: I am a very narrow lady- 5'6", 100 lbs, all torso. The XS is longer and fitted in the body, and the sleeves are actually long enough which almost never happens with extra smalls. (Thanks for all the thorough reviews on fit- it helped him so much!) Versatility is next. The layers let me really bundle in the coldest and windiest weather in Denver... and this jacket will officially replace both my warm and waterproof layers when I backpack. It's not too bulky and I'm looking forward to getting it into a stuff sack in the spring. I will be able to weather any rain and sleeping on the snow line. My only issue is that I seem to have a long learning curve with the double zipper. I don't need it since I don't ski and I can get it in the track the first go only about 50% of the time. Not a deal breaker for me though!

Absolutely perfect

I bought this for a gift. My mother in law likes it because it's warm and movable. She also likes the detail in the design. Plus the 3 in 1 jacket is great for the different types of weather we have here in Michigan.

I wear my North Face coat everyday to work and gym!!!

Bought this jacket for my oldest daughter. Wife and youngest daughter really liked this jacket and bought them both one this year. Very pleased with the quality and styling. Very versatile jacket.

I just got it today. it was a love at first sight. Beautiful and very very warm. I was looking for something that warm but not too big. This is perfect. I love the idea of the 3 in 1 idea (Triclimate). I'm verya excited with my new jacket.

I was absolutely devastated when my Eli Triclimate jacket was deemed un-fixable by North Face because I could not find a replacement jacket UNTIL North Face made this jacket. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this jacket. It is the perfect material both on the outer shell and the inner liner. It fits perfectly. The length is fantastic. It is the perfect weight making it versatile for both the super cold weather as well as when it is just starting to get chilly. I cannot be happier with this purchase.

I bought this for this winter,so I haven't quite worn it yet but when I tried it on I fell in love! So comfortable and will keep me nice and toasty in the cold winter.

The plum color looks better in person than on the web page.

Comfortable jacket. It fits well, and I like the longer length. Very good for travel where the temperature is likely to fluctuate!
