little larger than expected

Rejected by my frugal son. I think that's a mistake because it looks great and it's clearly warm without being bulky. Kids...

warm, comfortable, could use a metal zipper.

I was looking for the one jacket which replaces everything else. Pockets wehere they belong. Hood is good (could be slightly longer in the front to prevent getting wet when it rains). It's worm without getting sweaty. I tried them during snowboarding, wear them to work and around town. Good purchase...no regrets.

The only negatives that I have read mention the zipper....It's a Parka so a little patience is needed that's all really.

The first time I wore this jacket it was storming with heavy rain and wind. I was happy with it under these conditions and look forward to using it later this winter when I travel to the East Coast. I am surprised a better main zipper wasn't used for it.. but that is not a deal breaker for me.

Bought as a present without trying, fits perfectly

I got this for my boyfriend after he relocated to the east coast from the south. Needless to say, this item has become a staple for his commute, travels to/from the gym, and other adventures. He even wears it to bed sometimes. The jacket is big enough to wear a suit underneath. If you are looking for a versatile jacket, prepare to look no more.

Works great as a casual jacket as well as over a suit.

Every day use for winter weather.

Where this parka in cold weather, including rain and snow. Very warm and comfortable and is the right length to cover up a sports coat or suit jacket. I would not wear this ski or other athletic activities but otherwise perfect for what I need.

Item is too tight around the waiste

Zipper is a bit of a struggle.

Got this for my brother as an early christmas present since he was freezing in the cold without a proper jacket. He loves it! He's about 5'7" and 160lbs, a size medium fit perfectly with extra room. Chicago winters are no joke!

I walked into a north face store wearing an old north face long sleeve looking to replace it. Perused around the store and saw this stylish brown jacket. Stunning. Couldn't see a price tag so tried it on. So warm. So comfy. So light. I didn't want to take it off. Reached in the pocket and found the price tag. By that time I had already decided to buy it. Great coat. Well worth the money. If I get 10 years out of it it'll be well worth it.

I bought this coat for my son. He recently moved to the mountains where it's extremly cold outside. I was worried about him being warm. Now he is warm so I sleep better knowing that. He loves the coat. Mission accomplished

I live in a cold climate and wear this jacket daiky. It really fits my needs.

I got this jacket to fight the Chicago weathers.

Wonderful jacket. Great to wear on your work jacket as an overcoat as well as casual wear. It's warm and cozy in NY weather. My only issue with the jacket if the Zipper which is not easy to first lock and than unlock. Though it runs smoothly after getting locked. I am 5'10" with a medium built. The NF size calculator recommended L size that I bought initially but it felt way too big - sleeves were long and feel was not great as well.

Everything was great about it looking now to buy more

Need a good winter coat to deal with Chicago weather

The best jacket ever!! My son was hit by a car in NYC and his jacket was destroyed. It was a hit and run and he was hospitalized for some time. He asked for this jacket. It was the best gift ever!!! We will always buy Northface jackets. The quality is excellent; as was the customer service. Thank you.

How do you shrink it? Other than that, pretty darn neat.
