Not disappointed, although I wish it was a bit longer.

I am 5'8", 135 lbs and the medium in this coat is a perfect fit. It is long enough in the arms and generous enough throughout the body to accommodate a warm sweater. It is a workhorse coat, keeping me warm on the prairies and yet warm - and dry!!- on the BC coast. It does all this while looking elegant with clean and simple tailored lines. A five star coat that I simply love!

I am paraphrasing for my wife, who received this parka from me as an early Christmas gift. She has winter jackets from Helly Hansen and Burton but this one from Arc'Teryx is her first and arguably the nicest, warmest, stylish winter parka she has ever owned. She would wear my Ceres SV parka around last winter (all be it a bit big for her) and she really appreciated that level of warmth. I felt the Patera was a good compromise in approaching that level of warmth found in the Ceres SV, but doesn't have the look of a full-on ski parka or expedition parka. She appreciates the heat retention, the length which keeps her legs warm, that the parka is waterproof, the pockets are cozy and the parka looks nice overall. Her only issue is the collar which seems to be a bit too stiff and tends to stand up rather than lay open when the zipper is open/down to clavicle length. She says this small discrepancy may interfere with makeup and rub off onto the inside of the collar.

I recently purchased this jacket and have to say it is a dream! I originally ordered a large but returned it and sized down to the medium. I have a large in other Arc'teryx jackets but I wanted the fitted look, rather than the big, baggy look. As soon as you put this jacket on, its like a warm hug on a cold day. It is so cozy with the insulated interior and the material is classy and very strong. The length is a bit long for my 5'4 frame, but I still love the style and quality of this coat. I ordered the crimson color and it is beautiful. I anticipate this jacket to keep me warm in the below 30 degree temps that I often see in Alberta, Canada. I am so pleased with this purchase! For reference, I am 5"4, 140 lbs., and ordered medium. It is flattering and still has enough room to layer if needed.

The Paterna Parka is warm, comfortable and well suited for winter weather in Ontario, Canada. The down fill is cosy and the Gort-Tex makes the coat ideal for windy and cold weather. The length is perfect as it keeps your torso warm.

Love the Topi colour of this coat. The above knee length is perfect for keeping warm, and yet the double zipper makes it easy to wear while driving. I like the way the coat zips way up to keep neck warm. This coat fits well and is slimming.

I love this parka and wear it everyday for work. Its worth the money because it has all the features mentioned in the product description. Also i love the simple style it has: no huge logos, no decorations or unnecessary details. A true scandinavian look. The only problem is that Arcteryx doesnt ship orders to my country, so its hard to get arcteryx products.

I have had this Parka now for two Edmonton winters, wearing it everyday from November to March. In the coldest days I would wear a sweater underneath, but other than that I normally wear I shirt and the coat and it is it enough to keep me warm. The outer layer keeps the wind and water away and the inside down keeps me warm. The coat is very light for how big it is, and I think I has the perfect length to keep my legs warm too. After two winters it still does not show signs of wear or tear. I really recommend it and I hope that they keep making this model year after year as I will buy it again when I need a new one. I also like that it has a very elegant fit.

I've had the coat for about 2 years. It breathes, looks great dressed up or down, and very warm in below 0 windchill. After wearing it out last night to a meeting, walking there and back on a windy -7 below celsius evening, I could not have been warmer, with full face protection, layering with a cotton blazer and sleeveless blouse. I'm calling it an "A" line style, with a nice fitted and feminine line along the curve of the back, with the length hitting just above the knee so it really covers. Things to note: it washes well in a top loading machine using a mesh bag, and machine dry to light dampness to the point of bringing the fluff back up, then just let dry on its own. Also, note by about 9-10 degrees above celsius I found the down lining too warm and I've now purchased a lighter Gortex shell with a base layer to then replace this coat as it gradually gets warmer into March/April. So the fact that it is lined with down means you can't remove the lining once warmer weather hits. Also, arm length is a bit too long and I fold the cuff, and a bit short in the arm pit, with no disadvantage whatsoever to basic function, for what I would call a minor design glitch. I have not tested in extreme wet weather, but then I would only wear it in light rain, which has been waterproof so far. I am 143 pounds, 5 foot 5 inches, and wearing a large with a bit of xtra room in tummy for layering. I just love it!

I have the Patera Parka for 3 years and this is an overdue review. My impression of this parka changed over the years and now I consider this as the best parka I ever own. The internal stretch-knit cuff is very effective. It is not bulky and it keeps out the wind. I have not experienced any zipper problem and the zipper works great. It has a slim, urban look which is fabulous. The first year I bought this parka I found the insulated hood a bit too big. Since last year I switched from using the Phase AR Headband to the Waffle Toque and I don't find the hood to be big or loose anymore. This parka is a bit too warm for Vancouver weather and my Durant Coat is sufficient. When I first got the Patera, I found it to be not really warm enough for Montreal winter. It is slim fitting and it doesn't work when I tried wearing my Narin Jacket under it. The Delta LT is not warm enough as a mid-layer. I tried my Gamma LT shell under the Patera and it didn't work well. This year I finally got the Atom LT and I find this works excellent with the Patera in cold Canadian winter. My spouse and I bought all our Arcteryx clothing online and we rely on the product description, reviews, and our experience with Arcteryx products when we make our purchase. It will be really helpful if the product features can include recommended layering options for insulated jackets.

Great length for covering the knees. The buttons are just in the right places to keep the wind out. It's very snug and a great fit - I am size 12 and bought medium size. The one annoying feature is the zip fastener. It takes a great deal of effort to fasten the zip, align it correctly and pull it up first time. It's not easy to undo quickly either. That doesn't spoil it for me, though.

Excellent winter parka. Very light, super waterproof and warm! Please bring back the lovely orange color from 2015! Patera is so beautiful and classic in that color. Please make it part of the classic patera collection.

This was my main winter coat last season and it did not disappoint. It was warm enough in its own right, but still allowed for layering options underneath if so desired. The only 'negative' for me was that I found the internal pocket to be too low down in the body; I would have preferred it to be closer to chest level.

I love this coat, I bought it because my dog was destroying my dry-clean only, very expensive down parka. It has performed above and beyond my expectations this winter. There has been lots of salt and mud to contend with this year and it was quick and easy to wipe down the gore-tex fabric with water. It's also surprisingly light weight and well insulated. I wear a size small and I think the fit is generous, I had no issues adding an extra layer underneath. It is holding up well so far and i'm happy with the simple features and design. 10/10 for me.

Love this jacket to pieces. It has been a very cold winter and this has been great in the minus 20 to 30 degree weather we have had. It's super stylish and comfortable. I often find jackets aren't roomy enough for my shoulders but this was not the case with the Patera parka. For a jacket that is as warm as it is, it's also very light and I don't find it is too bulky at all. Only downside is the zipper. It likes to come undone/apart from the bottom up. A minor annoyance for such a wonderful jacket!

Love this coat for its functionality and warmth while looking stylish at the same time. Being able to wear it on top of a single thin layer for school drop off and pick up makes it so functional and practical for every day use. It kept me warm on extremely cold days without having to wear multiple layers under it. Love the lining and the overall make of the coat. It's so durable, and easy to clean and maintain without having to drop it off at the dry cleaners every month.
