The backpack is great. It's very roomy providing enough space for my books and laptop, which was a problem with previous backpacks. It is very comfortable, making it feel lighter on the back than it really is. I recommend this backpack to anyone.

This backpack is great! Not only is it cute, but very comfortable. There's plenty of padding for the laptop and also a spot for a tablet and phone pocket. Anything you might need for a day at school or professionally, there's a spot for it. It's also not too big/bulky. The size is just right for a computer, a couple books, and some notebooks. There's also extra spots to store miscellaneous items such as keys or glasses so you don't have to dig around in one of the bigger pockets to find them. If you like to stay organized and want enough room for all your needs but dont want a huge bulky backpack, this is the right backpack for you.

NYC teacher uses backpack to commute my school books as well as my students work daily on the subway system. Also used the pack to travel through Canada a few weeks back. Held everything and then some; actually thought left some items home and found them deep in the pockets. I'm broad shouldered and felt the straps were a bit too wide for me, let alone someone smaller. Excellent purchace for the price.

I'm a daily train commuter, and I always pack my lunch and a set of gym clothes. This backpack gives me the room and organization I need to pack all of my electronics, pair of shoes (or two), a rather hefty lunch, snacks, and the occasional important file. Not only do all of these items fit in the backpack, but it is comfortable to carry on the mile walk to and from the train station and home or work.

I use it for school and travel. It has a lot of space for books and binders and laptop. It also has a lot of small pockets for smaller things like charger or calculator or ipad.

I am planning on using this as my daypack on a trip to South Africa, I am only taking carry on baggage so needed this pack to be big enough to help carry part of my luggage while in transit as well. It is going to be the perfect size for that and I really like the compartments for fast access to the necessities.

I love this backpack. I feel like I can have 20 pounds of stuff in my backpack and due to the comfort pads on the backpack it feels like I'm only carrying about 5 pounds of stuff.

Absolutely in love with this bag! My laptop fits perfectly in the sleeve and I can fit my note in the additional pocket. The only negative is I can't fit a 2" binder and my neuro books. I was able to comfortably fit my notes, medical equipment, laptop, iPad and pen case and still feel like I had nothing in the bag! Highly recommend!

Alright y'all, I suggest y'all strap in (pun intended) and get ready for the review of your lives. This is the best backpack I've ever met. I'll be honest, I always thought the North Face backpacks were overrated, and a little too "basic" for my tastes. My feelings have since been drastically changed. I needed a better backpack for my back, thanks to my genetic predisposition for a hella messed up back and shoulders, and so I looked into TNF backpacks, just for kicks and giggles. THAT'S when I discovered all the backpacks are endorsed by the American Chiropractic Association. Tickle me intrigued. I did further research, and compared prices, brands, and styles. In the end, I found the The North Face had the best backpacks hands-down. Yes, their prices were a little more than most others, BUT it ends up being SO WORTH IT. This backpack has basically changed my life. I can carry all I need, which is a lot of notebooks, textbooks, my laptop, etc... and STILL have plenty of room. AND my shoulders no longer ache like they used to after a long day of studenting. God bless America, and God bless this backpack. Peace n Blessin's.

This backpack was a replacement for a Burton backpack I had for several years. I was sad when the zippers stared snagging. At that point I began looking for a replacement and many reviews sent me this way. So far the surge has met or surpassed all of my expectations. The colors are great and the comfort for the size is unbelievable.

I use this pack for everyday use back and forth to work. It holds my 15" MacBook Pro perfectly. I like that there are several options for holding the pack. The pack and zippers are very durable. The only con would be that with a laptop inserted in the rear sleeve the pack will not stand up without falling forward or back. It would have been nice for the balance to be a bit better to allow the pack to stand up with a laptop in the sleeve. When driving, I use my seatbelt to keep it from flipping forward when braking.

I use it for carrying my computer and other supplies when I'm on the go. Also, use it to carry the kiddos supplies when I take the family on outings. It is really a big bag with lots of room. For example I'm 6ft 5in tall and 250lbs and it fits me well while not looking like I borrowed my toddlers bag.

This is a great backback. This is the 3rd one that I have purchased. My teenagers have one each and its packed full of books, really heavy and there are no rips, signs of wear after 8 months. Thus I bought one for myself. This one gets loads of complements as its design is unusual. I use it for work as well as traveling. Ace buy - worth the money on all fronst

I use this backpack everyday at college. I'm usually on campus around 8-10 hours a day. This backpack is extremely well made and very practical. Everything I need fits in it, and it is still comfortable after a 10 hour day on campus.

I bought for first surge for high school about 11 years ago! Impressed by its endurance through 4 years of HS, 4 years of college, and 2.5 years in the consulting world with heavy travel and frequent backpack use, I could not imagine getting any other backpack. I use for this backpack for heavy personal and business travel. Even though I'm pre-check and don't need the 180 degree laptop unfold, I like the specific folder for my laptop, which provides additional level or organization. I'm also a fan of the several plush pockets because it seems better for delicate items.
