bought these to replace "Walking 411", which were no longer available. I like the 2 velcro closures (as opposed to laces), and these looked like the same shoe, but sides are not as high, so tongue does not tuck into shoe as well as my old ones....otherwise, fit is good, and NB's seem to last a long time, but I am a little disappointed....liked the 411's better.

I love these shoes. They were purchased to replace a pair of New Balance shoes that were badly worn on the back part of the heels. When the new pair wear out I will likely buy another pair of New Balance shoes.

My husband has a large, square shaped foot. He requires a square toe shoe with lots of room for his toes. New Balance is one of the very few shoe makers who provide such a shoe! I thank you, his feet thank you!!

I bought my first pair of New Balance running shoes in 1981 at the factory store. They were called the Cadillacs.
My stepfather is also a fan of New Balance. He's 90 years old, and the NB walking shoes have the 6E wide for his flat feet. He's loves them.

Have used New Balance for 29 years and have never been disappointed in their product. I have not changed my opinion following the recent order. The Website, Post Order Tracking was terrible. I was at a stressful point in the ordering process and was getting no adequate feedback from customer service, I thought it to be a hoax and was ready to Cancel my Credit Card thinking it had to be a illegitimate site/order. So for such a great product, they need to get the post part of the purchase problem solved, Thanks!

Bought this product to replace model 811 which was the most comfortable shoe I've worn. Unfortunately New Balance no longer makes model 811. The 813 is close but I've been spoiled. Compared to the model 811, the model 813 rates only four stars.

My husband has the worst feet in the world. We were trying to find something he can tighten easily. He has orthotics, is 78 years old. The shoes were very "boxy". The material was hard, did not form to foot very well. He has a hard time walking anyway and this did not help. He tried two sizes, the 10 EE and 10 4 E. the 10 EE were better. For his situation, we found orthofeet to be a better option. The shoes are more like running shoes, did not look or feel boxy and the tightening mechanism was awesome. The site advises to order 1/2 size larger, but that was too large for him. Sorry, Zappos. See if you can get orthofeet.

We tried these shoes on in a store, but were not available in size and color we wanted. They said they could not order them. We were able to order them online and arrived in a few days. Very satisfied.

For a clumsy oaf like me, the NB hook and loop shoes are great everyday wear. What costs them a star as that for the same size they feel narrower than the previous version.

Use the shoes for work, thought they would be more padding. I walk 10k to 20k steps a day. I think within three months, I gonna gave to insert insoles.

Exactly the NB for which I was looking. My older pairs always fit perfectly fine.
The newer ones seem "smaller" in both width and length. My foot has not grown that much!
I will find a NB store and have them take my foot measurements, however, of foot growth.
I had to return the shoes. I will also go directly to a NB store when possible for best fit.
Since Boston, I've always liked NB best. It DOES make a difference where the shoe is made/assembled.
I do like the quality of the shoe and will seek correct fit.
