My daughter bought me these shoes as a birthday gift. She knew I wanted a pair of burgundy leather brogues that would be durable, could be resoled, and age gracefully like real leather should. So far, I'm impressed. They fit well and are made of a high quality leather. I love the sound they make as I walk. It's the sound of power... of authority... as they echo down the hall. So if you want to be Mr. Sneaky-ninja-man, these are not the shoes for you. For those who are uninitiated in quality leather dress shoes, I must point out a few things... 1. The soles are not "wooden" as described in other comments. They are leather, dyed to look like wood. That would become obvious after walking for 10 minutes on asphalt or concrete. Also, the soles are quite slippery to begin, but as the sole gets "broken in" and scuffed up, they DO gain traction... so be patient. 2. They may seem a tad large to some people, but be aware that when you put in a good insole, the fit becomes true. Make sure you get an insole that has a heel block... true leather shoes will not tighten at the heel well and will slip, leaving you a blister if you don't. 3. In terms of price vs. quality of leather and craftsmanship, these shoes are easily worth twice the money... if not more. Great Italian shoe for the stylish businessman on a budget (like me).

First, regarding the size: As others pointed out, they do run large. These are apparently European size, which is ~1 full size down from US sizes (or more). For reference, my normal sizes are: -Between 11.5 and 12 on the Brannock device -11.5 or 12 in athletic shoes (depending on the brand/type, e.g. Nike vs Reebok Nanos) -10.5 E in Allen Edmonds Park Avenues (the "65" last) -10.5 in Meermin's "HIRO" last (which, according to Meermin, is equal to 11.5 US) -11 in most other US dress shoes For these, I took a chance and bought them in 10 W, and I'm glad I did. They fit excellently around the toe box area (proper length and not too pointy thanks to the W width), although they could be a little more narrow near the arches. This may be more because of my own feet, however--i.e. I have wide balls of my feet but more normal sized arches & heels. Still, the E version of AE's 65 last fits me like a glove throughout. As for quality, the leather is excellent, especially the upper--I'm amazed at the consistency in color and lack of major creasing at this point; it's easily on par with my AEs that cost me about $100 more (on sale). One notable drawback--but I knew this going in--is that the shoe appears to be cemented. In other words, it doesn't seem Blake stitched or Goodyear welted, and if not, these cannot be resoled. Even so, at $160, they barely cost more than a full recrafting service anyway. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the quality, comfort, and value so far--just make sure you heed the warnings about size before ordering!

The shoes are at least a half size larger than what is shown. They are very nice looking shoes, though, and relatively comfortable. Comes with two colors of laces to add some flexibility.

So I followed the recommendation of others who say “order a full size smaller”. I typically wear 11M so I ordered a 10M. I am now at the UPS store returning them. I will be ordering an 11. They look great. The color is slightly lighter than pictured but I was hoping for that. Seem well made.

A truly beautiful and stylish shoe, with comfy insole, but my son found the bridge/lacing extended too high on his foot and rubbed uncomfortably.

After reading multiple reviews, I ordered 1/2 size smaller and found it to be a perfect fit. My only complaint is the sole is extremely slippery until they are worn for awhile but I knew that before my purchase. A very attractive shoe for the money!

Love the quality of this brand but they do run 1/2 size too big so I'm exchanging for 8/12 vs 9 which I always wear.

A truly beautiful shoe, with timeless style. Very comfortable with soft leather lining inside. Surprisingly good arch support for a dress shoe. I've been wearing these for 3 years now, and the don't show any signs of wear, and still feel as comfortable as day 1.

Very nice shoe--exactly what I was looking for as a replacement for another pair by a brand. Liking these much better.

The shoes were one of my favorites. I wore them for 6 months or so then the soles came apart on both of them. I will continue to purchase these shoes because of the leather soles, but please make sure the soles stay together.

Order 1 size smaller than normal. Very cool shoes.

The earlier reviews were correct in stating to buy them a size smaller. I wear a 9.5 and I bought an 8.5, the fit is perfect.

Everything about those shoes are great. I did find a size run about a full size larger than my normal shoe size. I had to return the first pair.

Very nice shoes, they were a bit large for the size as marked. All my other shoes are a 9W but I was floating in these, even with wool socks.

I followed the advice of others and got a size smaller. These fit great in a size 11 and I normally wear a size 12. They are a bit slippery at first but I know with normal wear they will get better and have better traction.

It’s a new product, have to wear it to get used to it. It’s made of great quality fine leather, it’s classy, it’s reasonably priced, it’s MADE IN ITALY!! It’s Excellent!

This is the second pair of this shoe that I own. I loved, resoled and eventually needed to replace the shoes because of how often I wore them. Style wise they go with everything, dress up or down. I am constantly complimented on them. You won't be sorry.

IT WAS LIKE THESE SHOES WERE MADE FOR MY FEET GREAT SHOES REALLY!!!!! BOTH PAIR AND THEY LOOK REALLY WELL MADE. THE REASON I PURCHASED THESE SHOES IS THE LEATHER SOLES i'M TIRES OF THESE RUBBER SOLES THAT CANNOT BE REPAIRED OR REPLACED I DO A LOT OF WALKING. GRAET JOB KUDDOS TO THE MANUFACTURER.

Ordered black shoe with red laces for my son and he LOVED them! Exactly as pictured. Great style and comfort, but unfortunately they run large and his size was sold out.

Great look and fit true to size, I love these shoes and I receive complements frequently. I purchased them around a year ago and I wear them to work about 4 to 5 days a week. They still look great, even after a quick polish I was able to wear them to a wedding last week:)

At first, I was skeptical. One might think that these shoes are old-fashioned and clunky, but, au contraire! They're a pair of the most comfortable dress shoes that I've ever worn. Leather is soft, like a glove, and will prob get even better over time, as they are broken in. A great deal for "Made in Italy".
