I have high arches and the arch in this shoe hit me in an annoying and sometimes painful way.

Good shoe. Fit well. Very happy with how comfortable they are. May buy a backup pair!!!!

Not a type of shoe I would wear for running, but it is a good overall hiking and every day wear type of shoe. I wear a size 14 and it fits perfect. This is the second pair I have bought and would buy them again.

I wear a narrow shoe, but decided to try these, even though they don't come in narrow width, because of the number of positive reviews and the price. I think they are a good value for the price. I walked several miles recently on a wooded trail, and they worked well. Good grip, cool, light, and my feet didn't slide around inside the shoe. I've also worn them on pavement, and feel they are better suited to trail walking. I'll keep them for my trail shoes, but for me, there are better choices for walking on pavement. I should mention though, that I'm in my 60's and have arthritis in my feet. One minor issue, the tongue on the right shoe, keeps sliding off to the right side.

i struggle with plantars fasciitis and heel spurs and have struggled to find comfortable shoes in women's styles. i purchased these one half size bigger to accommodate the insoles and compression socks i intended to add. i have now been able to cut the amount of time spent in compression socks in half. additionally my feet are feeling much better overall. my only complaint is the wear i have just noticed on the inside back of the shoe after only having these a short time.

These are an inexpensive pair of quality sneakers with a great snug fit. I would personally prefer more arch support if I actually planned to run in them, I use them for being active but not necessarily running.

These shoes are for my 11 year old, he is very rough on his shoes and these seem to last longer than most AND they are reasonably priced. trust bought his second pair

Good shoe and fair price. These are my second pair of ASICSin the same line. Both are great shoes and hold up well.

Great sneakers. Very comfortable after a short break-in period. First time I went walking in them, I was ready to return them because my right foot was hurting. After a mile or so, it went away and now the sneakers feel very good. I do about 3 to 4 miles a day with the dog and these sneakers are very comfortable.

Shoe looks nice and is true fit to size. Price is a steel especially with a $30 off I received as a bonus discount for previous purchase.

Happy with the shoes. Feels a little larger than my gel-venture 4's and thats good. Its a trail shoe and I use it for day to day use, not running.

These shoes look pretty nice. I like grey and orange as a color combo on shoes. Theyre fairly comfy and run a little big IMO.

Gratifyingly, Asics makes shoes in widths. The GEL-Kayano- which I like- are more than 3 times as expensive as the Venture5. My problem with the Kayanos is that they always broke down between 3 and 4 months. I try to restrict wear to running only, but sometimes that just doesn't happen. I decided to try out cheaper Asics as a knock-around shoe so I could get more functional time for my $$$$ shoes. The verdict is that the Venture5 sort of works for this. But- the Venture5 is not as comfortable as the pricier shoes. If I'm mostly wearing it while riding the train or slogging back and forth between buildings at work, then so what. I don't advise long training runs...

Love this shoe wide are accurate I walk over 20 miles a day in a warehouse and they are comfortable but of coarse they ware out fast for me but under normal use they will last you I have bought a few pairs of these and will continue to

I almost bought these but decided not too because they were just a bit too stiff, and I have a toe issue that stiffness irritates. But I wanted to write a review because these really seem like very good shoes. Great support, good style.

These were bought not for jogging but for general outdoor walking around, to fill a gap between sandals and real hiking shoes. They are doing well in that role. Other ASICS shoes (GT2000) run a full size too small for me (I wear an 8D for everything else but need a 9D in ASICS); for these I got an 8.5D which seems just about right. A touch too narrow on one foot but I expect they will break in. The "Light Gray" color is actually quite a bit darker and bluer than the Zappos image suggests, but they still look fine. All in all a good general-purpose outdoor shoe at a good price.

Not the 'gel' y soft rubber comfort of the more expensive ones, but it's comfortable and priced right ! Heck it'd probably last longer than the gels anyways.

Shoes looked really nice and length wise were a good fit. I ordered the shoes in my normal foot size, but when I tried them on they were too thin. My foot stuck out on the side and the tongue of the shoe didn't cover it. Easy to return but I was disappointed. If you have wide feet be prepared.

I bought these for walking. It was my post-back surgery PT. I do about 2.5 miles a day. I had to buy after-market insoles to get adequate arch support to prevent plantar fasciitis. I tried size 12.5 but found that I needed a 13. Zappos paid the shipping both ways so I could get the upsize. And it arrived in one day! Impressive. I'd buy them again, but the more I wear them, the squeakier they get. Both shoes squeak--very loud. Overall, I'm very happy with the Asics Gel Ventures.

I'm 69 yrs, have wide feet, and mild Morton's Neuroma. In the past I've purchased high dollar trail running shoes expecting better comfort/fit. For me the ASICS Gel-Venture 5 clicked from the first trail run. The shoe is light, fits my feet well, cushioned just right, and just the right amount of heel lift for running on varied single track, wooded trails. My feet actually feel better after a run, especially at night. For me it works and I can buy two pairs for the price of many other brand single pairs.

My second pair of the el-Venture 5. Other than the rubber sole starting to come apart at about month 6, this sneaker has an extremely durable outer and inner shell. My old pair is 2 years old and is used for yard work and they still wont rip. Love them.

Light and comfortable with decent support, BUT incorrectly sized. I have a closet full of size 9 shoes, with this the 9 was so tight I could barely get my foot in and couldn't move my toes when I did, so I exchanged it for the 9-1/2, which fits much better.

I usually wear a 9 - 10. I initially ordered this in a 10- Medium Width, and it was a bit too snug. Great thing about Zappos is I had a 10 Wide at my door two days later! That was a great fit. So, I'd say they run just a little small. Comfortable shoe, but not a lot of cushion. I just needed a reasonably priced shoe for everyday wear. This fit the bill. If I were to use it as a running shoe I would prefer more cushion in the sole. Good for walking and everyday wear though.
