I have been suffering with foot problems for the last couple years. Plantar faciatis, plus bad ankles from lots of sprains when I was younger. Today I volunteered for charity and was on my feet doing physical labor for 5 hours straight, moving and walking around for an additional 4 hours, walked just over 5 miles. Wore these shoes right out of the box. My feet felt amazing. They felt tired, but not full of pain. Previous years of doing this volunteering and I could barely walk back to my car afterwards.

Love these shoes! Like other reviewers, I found them to run a bit short. Normally, I have ordered a 39 in Alegria and had to go up to a 40 in these shoes. Also, I thought they were going to be too tight as I have a wide foot. Then I noticed that below the footbed in the shoe, there is a removable shim to allow for a wider width shoe. Voila! I am to wear these shoes. I ordered the emerald city color, they are definitely bright and get noticed, but I love them! Thinking about ordering another color. Also, I do like the lower profile of this shoe as opposed to other Alegria syles. I felt this shoe was a great buy and as always, love Zappos for carrying wide shoes in multiple styles!

Very happy with my new work shoes. I cook for a living and stand all day, Alegria shoes weigh so little, look wonderful and accommodate my orthotic supports. They are perfect for a wide foot. Also, while "slip resistant" is never perfect, these are pretty good even in a wet and oily kitchen environment. I have found that Alegria shoes designed for work are not great for walking, just working. And that is just fine with me.

These shoes are adorable, however I they do not fit so I am sending them back. I typically wear 9 and ordered a 39, but the arch did not hit my right foot right. I think a 40 will be too big, as my feet are a bit narrow. I love the contrast black and white and they come with alternate white laces as well. What I do not like about the shoe is the patent leather tongue and heel, and the black leather upper is not a matte black as I thought, but has a subtle sparkly sheen which makes them a little less casual for me.

Comfortable and fun shoes to wear. They do get attention! I now have several pair because they will accommodate my orthotics. I just wish Alegria made their shoes in a narrow width. These shoes are certainly a good value for your money.

These are very cute shoes. My two year old great-granddaughter noticed them right away, and she is very girly. I have not worn them in walks more than a mile, but so far they are really comfortable (with or without socks). Be sure to order the European size you usually wear - not necessarily what you see on the chart. I wear size 6 so I got a 36, and they fit perfectly.

Loved this shoe and always get comments. However I have had them just under 3 months and the stitching is coming out. I think they should last a bit longer for that. Alegria is usually very durable.

This is an update to the review I wrote on 3/30/17. I've been wearing these for about a week now, including a 7 1/2 hour day on my feet, as a barista. The soft leather molded to my feet for a great fit. My bunion does not hurt at all. Also, the lace up style is great, my feet do not slip. My feet always hurt a lot after work (for 4 years since I started this job), but I can honestly say, they no longer hurt when I wear these shoes. I wish I had found them before.

Super comfy shoe - just what you'd expect from Algeria. Though the toe box isn't the "clog" look I was use to from Algeria - it has plenty of room. The only difference I notice from all my other Algeria shoes is that the insole isn't as cushy, though it's still comfortable and I wore them all day with no complaints. Can't wait to get this shoe in other colors!

I wear a size 10 and order size 40 which fits nicely with the sandal. However since this is a closed in shoe, I would need a size 41, size 10 & 1/2 according to their sizing. All other shoes I wear are sized 41 /10. Just be aware of this difference when you order.

stitching fell apart along the side of the shoe at the sole. Didn't even last a whole year before they were falling apart. Otherwise comfortable and love the design, but disappointed in the quality.

I ordered a 39 and a 40 as I could not tell which to get. I actully have a 8.5 Wide foot, but narrow heel, high instep and wide toe, so many shoes do not fit me. The 40 was fine. I also did not see how to change the width as instructed without removing the supportive insole. That process needs more instructions.

I absolutely love these shoes. Very comfortable and stylish!

I order size 41 in closed toe Alegrias although my usual USA size is 10. For me the size 41 fits just right. I bought this shoe in solid black 2 years ago and it fits and wears divinely. Have not worn the pink print just yet but I expect the same experience. The shoe laces on the color called Dame are actually 2 sided velveteen. Nice surprise. They don't cinch up quite as easily but I don't care. They are cute as can be.

If I could wear this shoe every single day I definitely would!!!

I ordered these a half size big because that's all that was available, and alas, they were too big. They are super cute and super comfortable!

Blissful bling! After a lifetime of restraining myself from buying ‘loud,’ colorful, shiny shoes, I decided to purchase this shoe in an 8M (my usual size in Clarks, Earth, & numerous other brands) in the Icy Blooms color and am infatuated with it! This was my first purchase of Alegria brand shoes ever because I do not like the traditional rocker bottom Mary Janes that they hit the market with but these are fantastic! My feet literally feel like they are ‘sighing with relief’ at the end of a day filled with errands with these on. I love the flexibility of the sole and that the sole is colored teal blue to match the design on the shoe. I am ordering this shoe in other colors because it is so awesome!

Happy Feet! I LOVE this new Autumn 2017 style from Alegria in Pewter Finery! Summer of 2017, I bought the sandal with similar sole, etc and loved those so I knew I would love this oxford as well. Appreciate the comfort and fit without the stiff sole like so many other styles from this maker. Wore this pair right out of the box, just like the sandals. True fit both length and width. Cute as can be. And light weight. What more can a gal ask for?

This isn't the most stylish shoe on the market but it's one of the most comfortable I've ever tried - plenty of toe room and wide and soft enough to accommodate bunions. It doesn't have much arch support but the insole is very well cushioned. I plan to add arch pads because, although Alegria insoles are removable, they are so thick my orthotics can't fill the space the insoles occupy. I don't like the Licorice Soft Serve-too sparkly- but it's so comfortable I'm going to exchange it for another color option.

Another home run for Alegria AND Zappos. This shoe is cute as can be and the unparalleled comfort of Alegria. Love this non-rocker bottom + it is still thick and cushy. Like all my other Alegrias, I'm sure I can walk miles even the first day I wear them.

Nice looking and comfortable. Wide toe box. Deep enough to change to my custom orthotics. I only wish that the side of the sole (currently gray) was black, to make the shoe a little dressier. Still good all around shoe.

Colors are more bright and vivid than shown on my monitor. Shoe has a roomy toe box and lots of room for my orthotics. My husband loves the design (very unlike my usual stodgy footwear). Definitely a keeper!

I wear a size 8 shoe, so I ordered a size 38 Alegria Essence. It was almost an inch too long. I returned the 38 and ordered a 37, my big toe touched the end of the shoe. I guess you could call this shoe a "mis-fit". But, other than this particular shoe, I enjoy my other three pair of Alegria shoes.
