Don't let the minimalist design fool you. It looks every bit trendy no matter what the use is. I can easily carry it to office and look professional and look trendy same day as i commute through city roads on cycle . The number of organizational pockets on this bag is crazy and is meant to keep you hyper organized(the guy in video ain't joking). It is comfortable, light weight, and feels well manufactured. I used it on the streets of London and Edinburgh for 10 straight days and never had an uncomfortable feeling. Best part of the bag is the secure laptop sleeve that can also double down as important documents sleeve. It gives that extra feeling of security. My only beef with the bag is that it only has one pocket for water bottle. That restricts the bag to be used only in short and moderate hikes.

Love the options! Easy to get into in tight spaces (e.g. airplane seats).

I love everything about this product!! It's true, some of the zippers are difficult but that's a minor detail, and it's a dang good trade off for the fact it's made from recycled materials. I would perfer more internal pockets that zipper, but that's just me. It already has a few but I like to stay tidy.
If you're thinking about it-- just get it.

The Uptown Backpack is great. I recently traveled to six U.S. cities in 7 days by air and went through TSA screening using the backpack's TSA friendly feature. Its well built, lots of pockets, organizers and deep compartments that carries a lot of stuff, including camera gear and file papers. I especially like how good it feels on my back.
The Uptown Backpack goes with me everywhere - on the road or to the office

I have been a Timbuk2 owner for over 15 years and very happy. I own a few different messenger bags and decided to try a backpack. I am rough on backpacks and have owner over a dozen over the years.
I have to carry 3 laptops and wanted something comfortable and practical. After a quick conversation with T2, I was told to check out Uptown and Jet. I picked the Uptown.
I went to the sale and picked the color based on price.
The bag arrived and I thought, I have no idea how I will fit my stuff in the bag. Then I found another section, then realized that bottom was cinched, and my another compartment (I didn't look at all the photos).
I am really happy at the number of things I can fit into the backpack and how comfortable it is.
I will reserve judgement on the zippers. They seem a little flimsy, but time will tell.

We had this backpack given to us by our company and I love it and use it every day. My dad also really liked it when I brought it over with my things on a visit to him. He said he had been looking around for laptop cases and bags that were stylish and practical, and he immediately went online to find the one I had, mainly because the laptop was stowed away conveniently and inconspicuously in the back. We couldn't find it for some reason at the time (I think we were looking in the wrong category), but when I came up on it I had to buy it for him as gift. He loves it.

My son has had a different style Timbuk2 backpack and it looks great despite 2 years of intense daily life in Junior High as week as a "suitcase" for trips. I needed a (smaller) travel backpack that had a spot for everything, but was TSA compliant and could replace a tote bag when traveling in Europe. This is the perfect stylish, smaller travel backpack that works for me. Here is to many trips where my awesome backpack is also my suitcase :)

This is the perfect size for books, binder and my laptop. I chose this because of the separate laptop compartment, which will be perfect for flights too!

Use this as my primary travel backpack for work. Holds my 15" MacBook Pro in a sleeve and iPad Air with ease. Just unzip and fold as I get through TSA with no issues. Could use a bit more padding in the main compartments, but it does the job amazingly well regardless.

I will never buy another purse again. This is great for my commute. It's so comfortable. I love the laptop compartment. There's plenty of room for my lunch, workout clothes, planner and a library book. Great purchase.

Took a trip to Chicago, and the bag arrived just in time! This was an ideal bag to carry on a plane, wear around the airport, and visit a Starbucks along the way. Would definitely recommend. Only real thing I didn't love about this was the zippers seemed a tad flimsy. That's not to say they're cheap, just could have used a heavier-duty zipper!

I use this backpack to commute to work and for personal travel. I was looking for a relatively light backpack that is simple and well-organized, large enough for packing clothes, etc. for travel, and overall versatile. This bag does the job. I foremost love how ergonomically designed this backpack is: the front pockets are great for small things such as my wallet and pencil case, medium pockets for portable charger/lotion/cell-phone charger, and large pockets for notebooks/books/clothes. I also love that I am able to put my laptop in the back where it does not get in the way of other things I store in the largest compartment. Overall, I find that this backpack is extremely well organized but simple. The material also seems pretty durable. I have not found anything too bothersome about the backpack. The straps were initially uncomfortable but I eventually found them to actually work well as they are slightly placed closer to the middle and thus don't fall off my shoulder easily. (I am pretty small framed - 5'1"). The only thing that I wish could be improved is the water holder; my water bottle seems to fall out easily. It would be cool if a zipper pocket was in place at that same place so that the bottle could be enclosed. But that's just one idea.

I am a graphic design student and work as a web designer, so I need a lot of space for school and work. The multiple pockets keep me really organized, as well as room for my laptop and my iPad. It is all very roomy, compact, and very comfortable to wear. Top notch quality too!! I scored!

I needed a bag for carrying my gaming laptop (for gaming and programming). The space for carrying laptop protect my machine from other stuffs in bag.
I travel by airplane frequently, because I study abroad. The pockets for carrying passport and notes provide the best organization, and much spaces.

This pack is great. I love the separate laptop compartment for going through airport security. All the individual pockets and organizers help me find stuff super fast. This is a great pack.

I replaced an old company Ogio with broken zippers; was looking for something with a lot of organization inside as this is my semi-road warrior setup (travel weekly but usually single city). Also looking for a rare combination of subtle yet rugged. I have multiple Patagonia and Arcteryx daypacks, but they aren't slim enough or professional enough for work travel. For reference, my company dress code is untucked business casual -- so there's the tightrope of client-facing yet only semi-adult. The *only* suggestion I would make to potential buyers is to lubricate the zippers before using; they are a little tough. I happened to have some from a Yeti bag cooler and after using, those bad boys were good to go. Multiple compartments, great organization pockets, slim profile even when packed out, and very comfortable straps and ventilated back for running through ATL/LAX/MDW/DFW etc.

Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
My daughter can fit all her heavy textbooks and laptop into this solidly built pack. There are enough pockets to remain organized, but not so many that things get lost. It's comfortable when lightly packed, but has such a large capacity that one's shoulders could get overloaded. Nonetheless, she loves it!!

I'm a college student and this backpack has plenty of space for all my daily school needs. It looks super sleek and simple which is always what I look for in bags. I don't like having a complicated bags. This has lots of pockets to store several things like my chargers, hardrives and all my notebooks. It has all the space without the bulkiness which I love. It's like Hermione's bag in Harry Potter when they're hunting for Horcruxes. Simple bag on the outside, but plenty of room for all your gizmos on the inside.
