4 or 5 years ago I bought an earlier Tilden sandal, which I loved, and now I have bought the Tilden 5 which is even better! I have very bad feet -- arthritis, bunions -- but can wear these sandals all day and in all circumstances without any pain or discomfort. They adjust in several places which means I can always get a good fit, they are sized as medium but work well for a wide foot, they are sturdy and great on long walks -- but I also wear them around the city and they look great. I am also glad you have gone back to the green accents (rather than yellow, as the Tilden 4 had) on the straps and bottom of the soles, which my original Tildens had. I still have the old Tildens by the way -- they never wear out! I just wanted a new pair, and the additional straps at the heel and a firmer foot bed are wonderful improvements. And thanks Zappos! I ordered them one day and got them the next -- not bad!

more Ahnus. Some Keens.

The shoe is exactly as pictured and comfortable. The arch support is sufficient. After trying them out, I feel that these will be good for lots of walking on vacation. Also love the waterproof feature.

This is an amazing shoe. Very comfortable. Dries fast. Easy off and on. They are really well made. I tried these and several Keen styles and the quality of the Ahnu is far superior to the Keens.

I love these sandals! I am currently in Bali waiting for my misdirected suitcase to arrive and I am so glad that I had these in my carry-on. I have flat feet and really need good arch support for walking and these shoes provide exactly the right amount (Keens, for example, are a little too high in the arch for me to be 100 percent comfortable without socks). They have good cushioning, protect my toes, and are easy to slip on and off. They are great in the water or on dry land. They are just a very practical and comfortable pair of sandals.

Ahnu is one of the best brands! Every shoe I get from them is quality. This shoe is comfortable, has support, is a beautiful color. I am wearing it all the time. It's adjustable and was comfortable instantly.

These were quite comfortable that my big toe rubbed against the toe cover. Had I gotten a larger size I think the rest of the shoe would have been too loose. So returning.

Almost perfect. Not enough cushioning and I know I'd end up leaving them in the back of the closet. Want a pair that I will wear out because I love them. Almost perfect.

Very cute in the Plum. I am a tried and true size 8, and the 8 in these felt roomie. Worth a try.

After reading MANY reviews between these shoes and similar ones made by Keen and Chaco, I went with the Ahnus. While I was happy with the overall fit, comfort and style, I was really disappointed in the lack of arch support. I was looking for a shoe to wear at a water park that wouldn't require the use of my orthotics. These are going back (and Zappos is wonderful to work with on returns and gathering info about shoes!) and I've purchased a pair of Chaco sandals instead. They are not the enclosed toe like I'd hoped for, but until I can try them on in store, I'm going to hold off. If you're looking for excellent arch support, I would point you to the Vionic or Chaco brands. Note- I also tried on a similar style of Keen sandals in store, and they have a moderate arch, where the Ahnu had very minimal.

I am looking for a waterproof light hiking shoe to wear in Maui. I wear a women's 6.5 and this shoe fits and look fine but I also bought a size 7 Keen Newport sandal and it fits me a little bit better. I will be keeping the Keen and returning this one. This seems like a good shoe though.

I just spent three weeks in Chicago. There was much much walking involved. No less than 5 miles per day. I had other shoes with me that I tried to wear but was just unable to. These shoes kept my feet as comfortable as possible each and every day. These are great because there were days that my feel were swollen due to the miles and these could be easily adjusted. They also dried out overnight on the rainy days. I weigh 240 pounds and these shoes held up my poor tired arches with grace each and every mile. Even on the 10 mile days.

I really love these shoes - but the right shoe is too tight across the top of my foot. If I had two left feet, I'd keep them for sure! It's my feet - not the shoes - but I'm afraid I have to send them back!

The structure of this shoe, with a buckling strap over the instep and a Velcro back strap, allows someone with a high arch to get into this shoe. Other shoes of this sort lacked that important structural design.

I really like these shoes! They are lightweight, breathable and comfortable. I probably could go down half a size and still have plenty of toe room. They are adjustable in multiple ways at the heel and on the upper so you really can customize your fit. I am scratching my head at the price tag, though, because they do not feel all that substantial, say compared to Keen, Chaco or Teva. I am sending them back because they do not fit my needs for work durability but for leisure they would be amazing for Disney or walking tour type of scenario. If you like to wear really cool socks, like me, these could look either really funky or really weird depending on your sock choice.

Love Ahnu shoes. Fit is really good with all the adjustments. These felt great on, but the sole is a little thin. I need more cushion. So, am returning them.

Disappointed to send these back but they had no arch support. Otherwise I liked that they are lightweight but sturdy; like that they have a heel covering and are easy on and off. Overall, though, I didn't like these as well as the Keen Whisper for comfort - the Whisper gave me a snugger more secure fit but I'm sending both back because of poor arch support. The search continues....

I did not know that I had plantar fasciitis until I had worn these for a day and couldn't return them. Expensive mistake: they're a nice looking shoe, but hard to get a secure fit with and have no arch support and a soft footbed. I will try an orthotic insert and see if I can salvage them for light duty, but for a sturdy walking sandal I am going back to the Keen brand that I wore last year.

They are both too long and too wide. I tossed out my Keens for the same reason. I based buying the Ahnus on reviews that said they were narrow. Not narrow enough for me, however.

I purchased the Ahnu Tilden V in my quest for a comfortable athletic style sandal as an alternative to various Keen and Teva sandals worn in the past. Foot issue motivated me to consider other brands. Tilden V looks well made for around-town use. It can be snugged along the top of your foot to customize fit. The velcro back strap facilitates on/off. It has moderate arch support and roomy toe box. It is average, not generous, width. However...it fit ~full size too long! Mismarked? Had to return it. Thanks, Zappos, for your easy return policy.

This shoe felt like I was walking on water. It was very light weight. I am returning it because I felt the heel area was a little low and felt like it hit my heel in a funny spot. I also wish they were a little more open on the top.
Very comfortable otherwise.

love these overall and wish they fit - but, even puling everything as tight as possible they are still too wide in the ankle and even the toe box

After wearing these long term, I'm disappointed. I bought them in advance of a trip, and wore them a lot, in & out of the house, before I left. They were comfortable (although they didn't support my arches well, which I was OK with) and I thought they'd be great. But on the trip itself, where I walked all day...they weren't. They weren't actively Uncomfortable. But it felt as if they'd stretched out, and my foot was moving around too much. (These seem to run big. I returned my first pair for a half-size smaller; I might have needed to go down a full size. I did adjust them them to get a snugger fit, which helped, but they still didn't hug my foot enough.) I wore socks with them a couple of times, which helped, but only on days I wore long pants, to minimize the ridiculous-appearance factor. I wound up wearing my running sneakers instead for a good portion of my trip. They'll be OK for me for light walking, but I won't rely on them for anything heavy duty again.

I love how the upper part of the shoe is adjustable and how much room this shoe provides for the foot but there is really no arch support at all and it does not have much of a sole to cushion. I was so hoping this would get me out walking again with my neuroma and fused great toe but my search continues.

This is a high quality water/hiking shoe with a solid bottom that I know would have stood up well to hiking however, the shoe is very wide (similar to Keens), and while my foot is not narrow, it was swimming in my normal size 8. I think this would be a great shoe for wider feet who could fill out the shoe for a snugger fit. The other complaint is that the adjustment straps seemed hard to work for customization of the fit. I was sorry it didn't work out but I know it will be a gem for someone else.
