I have been wearing New Balance 813 shoes exclusively now for 8 years. They are very comfortable and I particularly like that they have a roll bar. I have not fallen since I started wearing this style 8 years ago. I get my shoes through the local Brace shop as I am also a diabetic and Medicare pays for them. Unfortunately I can only get one pair a year. Never-the-less I am happy I can get these shoes. They wear well and the fit is good. I have significantly orthopedically challenged feet and these shoes feel the best to me. I will certainly keep wearing them. The only thing I would ask is that you would offer them in more colors other than black and white. No dressing up any more :>( I cannot abide black and the white does "stick out" when wearing darker colored slacks. Please consider adding a light brown or grey. Thank you for a wonderful product.

I purchased these shoes for my mom who is 83 yrs old & had a total knee replacement that left one leg shorter than the other. Her podiatrist recommended to get sturdy, secure walking shoes & highly recommended NB. He also wrote a prescription for a lift ( which the doctor actually measured a 2cm difference) to be inserted inside the actual sole of the shoe of the shorter non operated leg. When we went to the NB store, they highly recommended these. My mom tried them on & she said they were extremely comfortable, roomy & easy to put on. The shoes are currently at the shoe repair shop & they should be ready in about 2 weeks. She's super excited to finally walk pain free!

I love walking in these shoes. My feet are cushioned and my knees do not hurt. I would highly recommend these for anyone with knee issues.

I was replacing the same shoe I wore almost every day for over 20 years. Comfortable, easy to get on with my arthritic fingers, black leather goes with almost every casual outfit I wear. Just apply some black shoe polish every so often to spruce it up. However, I had to return it for a half size larger. I'm not blaming the shoe: it's more likely that my feet have changed over the past 20 some years. (I'm shocked!!!!) The style I had was an 811 and I see this is the 813 but I would expect a similar experience.

This was THE PERFECT shoe for my mom! And I quote: "This are super comfortable and straps allow me either wear thicker socks, especially during the cold months!" Thank you NB!

I bought these sneakers for work. My podiatrist recommended them for my arch issues.They feel very comfortable and im hoping they will help.

I have worn this particular walking shoe for many years and replace them at least every six months. I prefer the white shoes. These shoes have served me well teaching at elementary level until retirement and walking for exercise even now. The only odd thing is that I have had some pairs of these over the years with one shoe lace that is shorter than the other and a different thickness. Any explanation?

I ordered a different model with a more built-up heel that I didn't like at all. The 813 appears to be a good descendent of my old favorite 812 shoes. I use them for light hiking and walking everywhere. I'd be happier if they were all leather but they are comfortable, fit well, and do not upset my balance. I'll probably get some in a lighter color for summer.

I purchased this shoe for my mom as a Christmas gift and she loves them. They give her total support to help with inflammation in legs.

Have been wearing New Balance for probably thirty years plus. Love the Velcro now that I'm older!!!

The NB women's 813 have a rounder toe space. The 4E width makes the shoe quite comfortable. Yes, I can say I require cinder blocks for shoe manufacture, but I am always satisfied! Thank you NB,

I am so glad that I purchased these shoes! I walk at least 3 miles daily and these have supported my feet perfectly! Great shoe!

I am pleased with the good support and fine looks.

I wear them for walking. They are very comfortable. I wear them with many different pants and they always look good!

Liked old "much better" 812 made w/"more" support

I have had these shoes for several years. Able to wear my orthotic in them. Happy that I can get them this wide.

My previous post lasted 7 yrs. When I ordered these I got the wrong size. Return was easy. I reordered (2 pairs actually) and they fit just fine. Only complaint is they won't stay tied. I got one pair with Velcro but they are white so not wearing them yet. Black one I got with laces and just won't stay tied.

I really like this sneaker. I have it in white. I do like the gray color but I believe they discontinued that. I tried the more expensive sneaker thinking they would last longer but they hurt my feet. These sneakers feel great I think the roll bar helps my back. I seem to roll over other sneakers but these don't and I believe keep my back in line. Thank you New Balance for making these. I would highly recommend these, especially if you have a bad back.
