Way too small! I have another pair that fit perfectly in size 8. I needed something waterproof, these were not only way too small but they look cheap as well. Going back!

So comfy that I’m wearing these around the house instead of just for walks!

I was afraid the shoes would be too big. I wear a 7 but 8 was the smallest you had. I am wearing thick socks and they seem to be perfect. Thanks for quick delivery!!

I was amazed at how good these boots felt. I wore them all over the house just to see if I could do some great hiking in them. I decided immediately that I would definitely keep them. I think I can wear thicker wool socks with these. Love them!

I am joining my daughter on the Appalachian Trail in five weeks. After reading the reviews I bought an extra size larger due to my orthotics and the fact that they run small. Walked 11 miles yesterday in rugged terrain and just my ankles are sore from the boots. They held up beautifully and I am very pleased with my purchase.

I love these boots and the fact that they have great support, comfort and are actually WATERPROOF in the wet Northwest! My only complaint why I didn't give a 5 for the style is that it would be good to have the two top lace eyelets a bit farther apart for it is tight to get the lace between the two eyelets. Otherwise I am so happy I found the Hi-Tec brand again and I just ordered a lower hiking boot style. They are reasonably priced and much better than a brand that I didn't have a great experience with that was twice the cost . I also LOVE Zappos' Customer Service Support! They are awesome and that is hard to find now!

I bought the boots a full size up from what I normally wear. Not sure if the heaviness of the socks had an effect on the fit, but the larger size definitely felt better for my toes. Overall, it's a great, comfortable hiking boot and I look forward to wearing them.

I bought these strictly for the waterproof feature. I ordered a size up, and a width wider, I use an orthotic. Was worried my toes would be sore, but not at all. I've used them for a week, through water and mud on 10 acre 30 minute walks. Live on a drumlin, lots of steep climbs and descents. After lacing properly, they've worked out perfectly. The purple is real 'purdy', but I'm used to the wider toe box of my Keens, only complaint. No discomfort with the narrower toe, just the look of it.

I ordered my typical size of 9.5 and it fit perfectly. No breaking in necessary. I have worn them in wet grass at the river and they have kept my feet dry. Happy with the purchase.

My daughter is typically a 7.5 but the 8 fit great. Stylish and kept her feet dry while camping.

These boots are awesome! I originally ordered by usual size which is a 6.5. The boot runs a bit small in the toe box so I exchanged them for a size 7. They now fit perfectly. Heading to Arizona for some hiking a couple of weeks and I can't wait to try them out on the trail. Great fit. Lots of support and very comfortable.

They are true to size. I always order a 9 in boots by I wear an 8.5 normally. They have plenty of room for thick wool socks. They are stiff at first so plan to break them in. Very cute style and sturdy construction. Warm and waterproof. Great boot for the price.

Bulky but great

Awesome hiking boot. Delivered in time to wear for the big rustic campout. Very comfortable and not too heavy for her to be in all day outside in the cold weather. She definitely broke them in first wearing. She choose this style over another by the same company simply because they had purple laces.

Not fully waterproof but it does the job walking the dogs about an hour in the Portland rain will start to soak through ever so slightly

based in reviews I ordered a 1/2 size larger than my usual 8. it is at least 1/2-1 size too big. so maybe I read things I correctly. too bad. great shoes.

They feel a bit stiff when lacing them up, but they are comfortable. I think they'll soften a bit after a few wears

Had to order 1/2 size up. Haven’t put them to the test yet, but seem like a solid boot.

I didn't realize these are high-top boots and not mid-rise, and was worried about them chafing my ankles when they first arrived. They did feel stiff for a minute but quickly broke in on the first wearing. I love the style with the purple laces and trim, and the thick soles cushion the blow and are good for all types of terrain. I use orthotics (which fit nicely inside without removing anything) so I can't really speak to the arch support without them. One thing I have noticed about HiTec is that in the low boots, I wear a 6.5, but in the mid (and now high) styles, I need a 7. These boots were extremely comfortable and supportive right out of the box. I wore them on a 6-mile walk that included some hills and rough hiking and they were perfect. The only negative I give all Hi-Tec boots is that they do not last a particularly long time. The soles wear down (and sometimes develop holes) and the interior wears and tears over time. In my case, they last about a year (walking 4-miles 3-4 times per week, mostly on asphalt but sometimes rougher hiking). A good value for the price, though.

I usually use 6, ordered than on 6.5 and they still feel snug and very tight at toes.

At first glance I liked these boots, they seem decently made. I ordered a half size larger than I usually wear as the reviews said they ran small. This would typically give me 3/4 a size larger than I actually wear. Intial try on seemed roomy enough in length but had no arch support at all. I need arch support so inserted insoles which seemed to eat up all the length. I'm not sizing up as I fear an increase in width that narrowish foot can't handle.

I followed the website advice and ordered a half size up; my normal size is 8.5 Wide and the 9 Wide fits perfectly. I like the purple accents and shoelaces but suspect the purple panel on the front of the tongue will be the first thing to wear out; it's a soft synthetic material that won't hold up to abrasion. I have not tried hiking in these boots yet, but so far they are comfortable and roomy on my feet and don't rub at the ankles. I don't feel much arch support under my foot, but the standard insoles are removable and can be replaced with orthotics if you need them. Overall, I would say this is a good buy for someone who doesn't want to pay a fortune and plans only light to moderate hiking.
