I want to love these because they look great and are really lightweight, and perfect for what I needed them for. However, I am finding that one shoe is too narrow for me. I don't have exceptionally wide feet, but I do have small tailor's bunions and for some reason, it bothers me on one shoe only. The mesh outside allows for the foot to "spill over" but the bottom of the shoe is narrow and so I feel the base of the shoe under my foot there. The other shoe feels great. I might try to send back for a different pair and see if it was a fluke. I usually wear between a 6.5 and 7, and I tried both. I felt my big toe hit the front on the 6.5. The 7 was good (except for the width).

They are pretty comfy. I have high arches so still need to find the right orthodic for them.Maybe a docpods brand slimline would work. Those are pricy but good too! They are cute too. My feet are fairly wide and the toe box is adequate. Nice brown color and good tread. I hope they will last! They seem sturdy but not a substantial as my usual hikers.

I really wanted to like these shoes. I wanted something to wear as a general daily shoe. I wear orthotics (typically green superfeet) so I usually wear running shoes all the time. I was hoping I could branch out a bit. Unfortunately, even with my inserts, there just wasn't enough arch support. They seemed to squeeze my feet especially in the toe area. The insole isn't removable, but is super thin so I don't think this was a problem for fitting the insert in. I used to the change in fit that comes with orthotics. In general, even with just wearing them for a short time, my feet were very happy to get out of them. Positives: nice and light, look great, nice soles, look great for gripping.

I would love these vegan-friendly shoes if it weren’t for the fold of material at the inner corner of the tongue that pushes against my foot. Unfortunately, I will return them.

Returned being they had no arch support.

I really liked these shoes but the left shoes's eyelet had a flaw that shredded the lace. I reordered and the next pair had the same flaw. Zappos chat said I'd be contacted by someone but I have not heard from Zappos yet...

Very nice looking shoe. Unfortunately the arch in this shoe was to high for my feet and was very uncomfortable. So sad, I will have to return.

Very nice looking shoe, toe box was very comfortable; however the arch support was to much and caused a great deal of pain, and the heals were to wide.

On a hiking shoe, you should order up a size because if you are truly hiking you're probably going to be wearing thicker socks and will need the extra room. I usually wear a 7.5 so I ordered an 8 and thought it "just fit" with regular socks. Anything thicker would be out of the question. I also was a bit disappointed that insole is sewn in ... so you can't remove it. I wear a custom insole and it just didn't work in this shoe layered over the existing one. Before I returned them I decided to walk around the house for a day just to see how they felt and was surprised that the support was really decent. So I decided to keep them. I've been on two trail walks with them and so far no foot pain. I like how lightweight they are and how they make my feet look small.

This is extremely comfortable but causes my foot to pronate...not good for the knees. There's not much arch support so would want to be able to insert an orthotic, but no room for that.

I usually have good luck with Merrells, and these seemed like exactly what I was looking for: a lightweight low-rise hiking/walking shoe. But they were simply too small. Although I had ordered my usual size, my toes were jammed up against the front of the toe-box with this shoe. I also found the shoe unsupportive and overall uncomfortable. I will not be trying a larger size, because the shoe just did not feel as though it were structured correctly for my foot. That is disappointing.

I just got these in the mail yesterday! I bought them for hiking here in Colorado, but unfortunately I do not think they'll work well for that purpose. They fit well and are true to size; however, they are very low and the sides are almost entirely mesh. I'm thinking I would not be able to trek through even shallow areas of snow without my feet getting soaked. Great shoe otherwise: very grippy and light. If you don't mind a shoe that sits lower on your foot than a typical athletic shoe and think the mesh will not be a problem, then these might be for you! Super quick shipping and the process of returning is easy. No issues other than just not the shoe I'm looking for.

I found these when I was searching for a shoe to specifically address issues encountered while walking/hiking on wet surfaces. The reviews led me to believe that I had found the answer. I live in a rainy area (Portland, Oregon), and power walk for fitness. Sadly, I found that I slip almost as badly in these as in my other shoes. Since I could only try them out at home, I can't return them. They are fairly comfortable, but be advised that you can only wear these with socks, as there are lots of rough areas inside that will rip up your feet. I've been a customer for many years, but have to say I'm disappointed by these.

Ordered my size, 10. When I received them, they were short in the toe box. I returned them and ordered a 10.5. Unfortunately they are still short in the toe box. Loved the color, style and arch support. Unfortunately they have to go back.

Nice shoe, but runs small. I'm a true size nine, and when compared to my size 9 Asics, these Merrils were definitely shorter by a half size. Needs more arch support and more cushioning in the sole or a removable sole so you can use orthotics.

This shoe style is nice, lightweight and easy to put on. I found the arch support to little for my feet though. I do have an extremely high arch. the floor of the heel section felt as though my heel did not settle down into the shoe. Bought the AllOut Blaze and will be keeping it! Much better arch support.

There is no padding in the footbed. Awful! If they had put in the foot liner that is in most of their shoes this would have been a winner.

I really liked the look and feel of this shoe but the insoles are not removable. I could not put my orthotics over the insole.
