Love those shoes since all other barefoot shoes seem to be the ones with single toes. I Have three pairs (all bought this spring/ summer)and use them on the trail almost every day to walk the dog for a couple of hours. They are great for your feet, neither my knee nor my hip hurt when I use them which has been an issue before... BUT they don't last, I can use them for about 3 months before the start coming apart where the plastic sole connects to the fabric of the upper shoe. I think there is a lot of stress on that point and I have wide feet which probably doesn't help. Unfortunately they are a bit expensive for shoes that basically have to be replaced after 3 months.

I ordered the purple/lime green pair. The color combo is super cute. The sizing seemed accurate but unfortunately the shoe rubbed the back of my heal. These also have no padding in them. My previous pair of barefoot merrells (bare access arc) have a little and feel so springy and are great for walking. (I don't run.) These are truly barefoot shoes that really just provide protection and not cushion. I also wasn't thrilled with the construction of the shoe. Seemed a bit sloppy with some rough edges where different materials come together.

I thought since I love the Bare Access Arc 4 I would like this shoe as well. I just don't find it nearly as comfortable. The intention for the shoe is to walk and workout at the gym. I don't run outdoors. I realize it's supposed to feel barefoot, but barefoot at least indoors feels better than wearing this shoe.

I've worn these shoes twice since I purchased them and I cannot make up my mind whether or not I like them. They aren't very supportive, as a regular sneaker would be, but they are comfortable. The footbed seems a little sparse, so I can feel the surface I'm walking on, and that just feels a little strange. I think I need to get used to them.

I like this shoe very much for its minimalist qualities but the heel comes up much too high and I will be getting blisters from them. I do wear them all day when dog grooming though and my feet feel great...just not my heels. Probably won't buy them again because of this.

Well...I have loved Merrell's barefoot style shoes in the past, but these felt more stiff. After wearing barefoot shoes for years and years, including Merrell's and Vibram Five Fingers, these shoes really hurt my feet, legs and knees (and lower back!) after wearing them around the house for a couple hours. They seemed stiff around the heel, rubbing the ankle bone. The sole under the heel seems stiff. I really wish the barefoot shoe makers could come up with everyday black shoes that can be worn outside in rainy PNW weather for a middle-aged woman instead of all those brightly colored monstrosities for young outdoorsy types that can only be worn in dry weather. This is as close as I can get, but not good enough. I'd like to return them.

This was the 4th pair of this shoe that I have purchased at Zappos. They have wonderful fast service and delivery, so I keep checking back here when I need new shoes.

I've been looking for a barefoot-like running shoe and was hoping this would be "the one". Unfortunately, the back top of the shoe digs into my heel causing much pain. I even went up a half-size to see if a longer shoe would alleviate the problem...but no luck! The rest of the shoe was comfortable and seemed well made.

I loved the look of these shoes. They fit true to (Merrell) sizing and are very comfortable minimalist shoes. Unfortunately, the upper material started pulling away from the sole after about a week of wearing them. I was really bummed but continued to wear them until my feet were basically sliding out through the massive holes. I think this shoe might work better if someone just walked a little bit, and mostly on paved roads. I wore them hiking and as my everyday shoes. They did not last long at all.

Wanted to love this shoe! Can't find the same Merrell I used to have and thought this was the new version. No. These are too flimsy for me. The last ones were a bit thicker in the sole which I prefer. Will return and try out a few other Merrell's.

Like many others, I'm trying to replace the original Pace Glove. That was a flexible, relatively low profile shoe that while barefoot still had a good layer of protection between the foot and the ground. I also ordered the Pace Glove 3. It has an arch that doesn't fit my foot, and is no longer low profile. It's more of a shoe than I wanted. Vapor is too barefoot for me. Virtually no shielding. So here I am, the Goldilocks of Merrells waiting for the right shoe to return.

This Merrell shoe is not like they used to be. Does not fit properly and they are too small. I usually get a size 8 but I would need at least a half size larger. Also, does not provide enough support so that my feet turn inward. I never had a problem with Merrell, but somehow they have changed.

I have been wearing the Vapor Glove (no number -- orig) for 4 years. They are falling apart but I'm still wearing them! I have really wide toes and they are the only pair of shoes that has ever fit properly. Reviews here said this medium width (wide not available anymore!) is about what was expected, and I'm sorry to say that is true! I don't think these are going to work for me. :( Very tight across the bunion and toes curl under. Also, big lump under metatarsal that I think would be painful with repeated wear. Have only tried once, so may change my mind, but right out of the box, these are my impressions. Why oh why don't shoe manufacturers realize that truly wide (not just fat) feet exist and they don't fit into normal shoes!

This barefoot shoe is good for dirt roads and paved roads. It's really not for hiking trails at all. It's billed as a trail runner, but I took it on a six mile hike through the Catskills and it really slowed me down on the decent. If you're looking for a daily barefoot feel on pavement or dirt path, this is it...but if you run or walk on terrain that is super rocky or has tough roots, I'd pass on this selection. Otherwise, it IS super comfy and a good transition shoe if you're looking to do so to barefoot walking or running.

I really wanted to like this shoe but for something described as a trail running shoe there was absolutely nothing under foot. I'm not new to minimal shoes but this is very minimal. You step on a rock with these and, whoa, you'll sure feel it.

If you like the feel of wearing a sock instead of a shoe, you might like this. Two problems, I should have sent it back, but hoped it would get better- and didn't. 1. - I didn't like the lack of support and use an insert, 2: the toe area rubbed my toes. I have Merrill Siren Edge which is a much better fit and supportive feel, for my preference. Wish I would have sent this back, but I procrastinated too long.

These shoes are just what I wanted - stylish, minimalist (zero support), grippy tread. HOWEVER, they are NOT made to last. The mesh upper has been shredding, with little wiry threads poking out since the beginning. Soon, the shredding-created thin spots will become holes. I'm SO disappointed in Merrell.

Loved these shoes when I first got them. After about 5 months of running (2-4 times a week on a dirt road) they both have huge tears along the side of them and I can no longer wear them. Better perhaps for the treadmill.

Unfortunately I do not like this shoe at all. I own a pair of the older New Balance minimus and love them...trying to find a replacement. This was not it. Very flat, no arch, does not fit like a glove.

I was so excited about these new Merrell barefoot shoes when they came on the market, as I have had many others and this style appeared to solve some of the previous design challenges. I loved the way these fit and felt when on from the start. However, there are two fatal flaws: (1) why would Merrell add a second set of metal eyelets that rub and cause blisters? (I removed them); and (2) the upper fabric was so flimsy that a hole developed less than a dozen wearings in.

I got these shoes since the reviews were so positive. I have the original and it is one of the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn, but this new version is still amazingly stiff and uncomfortable at the toe. At least for me.

The Vapors were to replace similar shoes I bought a couple of years back. My old pair were great for traveling as they didn't take up too much space in a suitcase and provided enough support for hiking and walking The new design has NO support at all. They are a completely different shoe! I am so disappointed since I travel a great deal. I gave the shoe two stars for comfort since the upper is okay. The insole of the shoe is a zero, even with the Vibram bottom. Back to wearing sneaks in the airport yuck.

I initially loved these shoes--they were comfortable and exactly what I wanted for a minimal shoe. However, after less than a year of light wear the fabric is tearing in the same place on both shoes--on the inside of the foot near the base of the big toe close to where the fabric attaches to the sole. These are not cheap shoes and they are from a reputable brand, so I am incredibly disappointed that they seem to be so poorly made.

I have loved the earlier Merrell barefoot shoes which I am still wearing daily. They are getting to look a little shabby, so I bought the gray Vapor Glove 2. It is smaller in size 11 than the Merrell type of barefoot shoe I bought earlier ("Mary Jane" with velcro). I could and do wear a 10.5 in that style but I can't fit in the Vapor Glove 2 even without socks. Please bring back the Mary Jane on the original larger last, or make a size 11.5.
