I love these pants other than the tight zipper when squatting or sitting cross-legged.

I must say I love columbia clothing. But this line of pants frustrate me. They're great initially. Fit perfectly but within a short period of time, they didn't hold their shape. Within an hour of putting on, they had become too large. I've tried this style twice in different sizes and they both have had the same problem. I also find in the plus sizes that the circumference around the leg is not big enough or at least the zipper isn't long enough. The zipper acts as a tourniquet bc of course it doesn't stretch when you sit down.

The zipper on the leg was too tight on my thigh. Also a size 6 which I usually wear was too small.

I am 5'2", 125 and usually I wear a 2 or a 4, I ordered the 4 and the 6 because others recommended sizing up, the 4 fit perfectly, EXCEPT that I most definitely could not climb anything in these - the zipper around the thigh is so tight I couldn't lift my leg. They are super cute though, I will get the regular Saturday trail pant instead.

Great fabic, but the fit was off. I'm 5'3" and usually wear a 0/2. I bought the 2 Regular & the 4 short after reading reviews about the fit (the 2 short was out of stock). The 2 fit great in the waist, but the thighs were snug where the pant legs zip off. The 4 short was better in terms of the length and the thighs, but the waist was too large. Retuned.

These pants are nice and light, but the zipper to convert from pants to shorts is a little tight around larger thighs. Can't wait to take these on an adventure to see how they do!

I purchased an 8 tall and then returned due to being too snug. Purchased a size 10 tall which fit great except for the zipper off section of the pants. Way too tight and I do not have large legs. Disappointed as finding tall in a hiking pants is very difficult.

The pants are comfortable and high-quality, but the zipper was quite tight around my thighs when I bent my legs. Granted, I have athletic legs, but ultimately the zipper did not give me enough range of motion and I did not keep the pants.

I love the bottom feature of a pull string but it keeps me from altering the pants since I don't want to loose that feature but they are about 2 or 3 inches too long for my 5'3" frame so there is a lot of sagging at the bottom of the pant making it look weird. I also wish they were a higher rise for my more mature body. i love the light weightless of the material but there is also a sound when I walk with this material.

I love everything about this pant except the zippers. I have very muscular thighs from years of bicycling and the zippers do not have any stretch to them so they bind on my thighs when I lift my leg to take a step up. This is especially frustrating when taking quick movements up rocky slopes where it impaired my range of motion. I tripped a couple times when I let my guard down. I love the nonconvertible pants and shorts as they have a lot of stretch. I think this product would be awesome for someone with slender legs. I am 5'5" and 130 pounds.

I really liked these pants - the color, style, and material were great. I am 5'7", 150 pounds and 22" thigh. I ordered a size 6 and 8. The 8 was comfortable - a little baggy and an extra inch or two in the waist. The 6 fit everywhere - except the zipper on the thigh. It was so tight that I could not sit down without cutting off the circulation. That was such a shame. I returned both in hopes of finding hiking pants where I would not have to compromise leg circulation versus looking like I was wearing my boyfriend's pants.

I have a pair of North Face convertible pants that I love so I decided to buy these and see if they'd be better since they're a bit more flattering. I tried these pants on and loved them at first. I have essentially the same pant but in a capri and love those capris. I was actually pretty happy with this when I was trying them on until I crouched down and noticed that the zippers around my calves were digging into my legs. Maybe it's just cause I have fairly muscular thighs, but it didn't seem like this would be something I could reasonable wear while doing anything other than standing or walking. I do like the regular Saturday Trail pants that aren't convertible since those don't have a zipper to dig into my thighs.
I'd also recommend:

I was really really sad about purchasing these pants. I have had the worst time finding a pair of hiking/hunting pants (in a ladies cut) that are not loud and "swishy" and also have belt loops, as I carry a side arm while out in the wilderness. I thought I hit the jackpot until I went for a short hike in them - the zipper'd knee area was noticeably tighter in the store while trying them on, but I did not expect it to impact my movement too much because I have slender legs. To my dismay I will not be packing out an elk in these pants, no matter how quiet they are. From the zipper up 4 to 6 inches gets so tight when stress is put on the fabric. These are not adequate for hiking treks or hunting and I am legitimately disappointed. Especially cause they fit really nicely overall in the butt and length which is really rare for this kind of pant.

This is difficult to write because I love these pants. The fabric is light and dries quickly, they have just the right amount of stretch, and they have a slim silhouette, not baggy and rumpled looking like some other convertible pants. Not to mention they also have ample, utility-wise pockets that zip or have Velcro closings - something very difficult to find in women's pants. My one problem is the fit. I'm 5 foot 3 and three quarters of an inch (okay, okay . . . but I want that three quarters!) and weigh 130 lbs on most days. Petites or Short sizes are usually an inch too short. I tried on the size 8's but the crotch bunched, so I tried on the size 6 regulars - perfect! Great length and fit around the waist and hips. The problem came later when I sat down. The zipper area was too tight. So much so, it constricted blood flow and I had to keep pulling them down. These pants are too narrow at the knee at the zipper. I wanted to buy more, but this has turned into a deal breaker: pants only good when standing or zipped off. I still wear them because I have yet to find another pair that fits all my needs and look so good while doing it. Pleassssssse fix this. It's a good design.

I bought these a size up, because that's what fit best. I tried them on, sat down in them, they seemed like the perfect pant for my upcoming trip. I washed them as instructed, and packed them in my suitcase. I was really disappointed when I put them on, as the seams/ attachments around the leg zippers had shrunk (a lot). I couldn't sit in them comfortably, or hike up anything steep, as the zippers cut in to my thighs. I don't have long lean thighs, but was shocked that they had shrunk so much.

I'm normally a size 6 and had to get a 10 in these to fit in the legs, but the waist is low and wide, so I'd need a belt. The pants are not lined and the zip-off area above the knee would certainly irritate my legs as I'm hiking. Definitely not worth the price, in my opinion. I have the earlier version of these Saturday Trail pants with no zip-off (just a roll-up with tab) and I love them, but these are not a suitable replacement for those. Disappointed with these and returned.

I bought these in April, tried them on and were great so didn't think anything of it until I actually wore them and tried sitting in these pants! Zipper is so tight around legs that it feels like a tourniquet! Unfortunately too late to return them! I would not recommend these pants

Just adding to the chorus of other reviews that note two crucial flaws with these pants: 1) they generally run small and 2) the issue of the zip-off portion cutting into your thighs is real and REALLY annoying. I have an athletic but fairly symmetrical build, and I typically wear a 4 or a 6, depending on brand. In these, the 6 fit in the waist but I had to size up to an 8 for a fit that was comfortable around the thighs (at least while standing up). I've now worn these hiking and somewhat regret going up to an 8 as the waist was loose at the end of the day, yet I also spent an extremely uncomfortable drive to/from the hiking site with the zip-off seam digging into my skin. Other than that...I like the feel of the material and the fit is generally flattering, but I don't think it makes up for the design flaws and I wouldn't buy these again (though they might be great for someone who is narrower in the thigh area).

These pants I tried to love, but the waist is set at what it is with no cinch or stretch. This affects the fact that waist changes slightly depending on if I'm standing or sitting, if I want to tuck in an undershirt or not, certain times of the month, etc. The waist on these pants has zero stretch material to it, so it doesn't cinch in when needed or have any give when needed. The butt and legs were great, but the waist just isn't practical to get much wear out of these. Returned. I'm 5'4" and 120lbs. I first prurchased the size 4 which is my normal size and I couldn't even get them buttoned. I returned the 4 for a size 6, and of course I could get them buttoned but the waist was super uncomfortable in any position other than standing perfectly straight looking in the mirror. Even bending down to put on my shoes caused a very uncomfortable squeeze at the waist!

The pants themselves look great and fit well, except for the area where the zipper is. For some reason, they made that area tighter than the rest of the pants, which makes them very uncomfortable around the thighs. Not what you want when you stretching and moving around while hiking. It's a shame because they look great and feel good everywhere else. Also, the sizing is waaaaay off. I had to order two sizes up from my regular size.

I ALWAYS wear a size 10 in Columbia pants. I worker s size Columbia size 10 pant all last months on a hiking trip. The size 10 in this style was so small I could not zip them. They were also stiffer than my other pants of the same material.
